This is as tone deaf and callous as I've come to expect of you. Nonapologies, deflection, avoiding subjects and stalling hoping the problem goes away on its own. -
I must say I'm torn on this... On one hand I'm dissapointed as usual, on the other hand it's getting harder to care anymore. Neither of these things are good for retaining me and my wallet.

While I don't think I deserve it it would be a fun thing to experience. I've never been to a Dreamhack nor have I attended any Wargaming events. Only thing I can say I guess is that I've played both Ships and Tanks since closed beta in both though I haven't really been tanking for the last year or soi.

This is a rather silly and trollish question as it depends on conditions. Initial range, who defends, islands, other things spotting the DD, the quality of the players involved, other players harassing either player etc.

I highlighted the important part for you. While there is merit in feedback to make the game more "fun" there is a reason for it being a close beta. Expect changes back and forth and if the data they're gathering suggests that matches ends to soon due to capping there will be some changes. We're monkeys banging away at this for free providing them with enough data to make informed decisions.

It really depends on what you find fun to be honest, and what you turn out to be good at. It is also situational what is "best". Battleships are the kings of long range damage, unless you get tunnel vision and don't see those two torpedo bomber squads coming in from different angles. They are also extremely good in close range due to the massive damage potential they have (and secondaries). There are drawbacks with them though, in tight areas they can't really maneuver and a cruiser or destroyer that end up close to them can kill them easily with torpedoes. Playing with battleships will make you a better gunner since you only get a shot every 30 seconds (meaning you want to hit with the first salvo) and you bring that gunnery skill back with you to the other classes. You also learn how to plan routes since you can't turn very well with them. Destroyers are annoying little gnats that are really hard to swat due to being small, very agile and very fast. The torpedoes they have can easily sink any other ship at it's tier or above if you hit with a whole spread and they are great for capping since they can hide in smoke which they can deploy. They are ambushers at heart though and need a dastardly mindset and a lot of island to break the sight lines in order to really shine though since they are very vulnerable out in the open. Cruisers are a bit of a mix, they wreck destroyers and later ones make carrier pilots cry since two of them AAA barraging will eat up at least half of the airplanes that gets within range. Japanese cruisers gets powerful torpedoes while the US line gets better guns. A division of cruisers that are somewhat competent can easily hunt down a battleships by either straight gunnery or distracting it while closing in to torpedo range. They can take a beating but battleships can and will take half of your HP with a salvo at one point and if you don't constantly watch for torpedoes you can go down very fast. I've yet to play carriers but my guess is they will frustrate you a lot until you get good at them, getting into higher tier ones won't really help you unless you know how to use them. When and if you learn how to properly set up your torpedo runs with at least two torpedo bomber squads coming in at different angles with simultaneous releases (since most competent players can avoid most if not all of just one squads torpedoes). Just go with what you find fun really, jump around between the classes as you will learn more and become a better all round player.

In world of tanks the low damage hits would just bounce away harmlessly, here they damage even on a glancing blow. Angle your belt armour and you won't have that many big hits (penetrations) against you.
