so the fact that anyone can install mods makes it fair? But that makes it some kind of arms race, those who have the best mods win? And what if i dont want to use mods? And the smoke mod gives advantage. Imagine me in my DD, getting spotted and being fired up on. I pop smoke and hit the brakes, trying to stay in my smoke but not exactly knowing where my smoke ends. I have to guess it, learn it by experience. The moduser sees a perfect line drawn on the water, making it easy to sit inside the cloud. And an other example mentioned, shooting the center of that circle gives a high chance to hit the DD. Unfair advantage. Edit: why do you want to see what ammotype is fired at you?

Interesting topic from Reddit - "The WR Matchmaking Engine Myth" (for those who are mathematical / statistical inclined)...
Lieut_Gruber replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
One thing the MM could do to influence my WR, is the tier it puts me in. If me in my T6 ends up in a T8 battle, my skills have less influence than me in a T8 ship in a T6 battle. But what has the biggest impact is division play. I was at 60% after playing mostly divisions, but after my mates got bored and left the game, i slowly start to descend. I actualy think the MM does try to balance divisions with higher tier oponents.- 95 replies

You guys can call it all you want, and ofcourse this is not a 'cheat', but it does give unfair advantage to both DD and DD hunters. Like all these mods, they give you more information than a vanilla player has, or present it in a more visible way. Just like the automated fire extinguisher in WoT, this is borderline 'cheating'. And all these guys defending it are usualy heavy mod users themselves, who would have worse stats without these im pretty sure.

Another simple trick to recieve karma: let players know during the battle that u give then a compliment, its very likely u wil, get one back

Destroyers - what % see the end of a battle?
Lieut_Gruber replied to Naveey's topic in General Discussion
My most played dd is the Kagero atm, 186 battles, 131 survived, 55% won. I played it quite agressive, going into caps and gunfights with enemy dd. But once my hp got low, i turn to stealth torping. I guess IJN dd have a better survival rate anyway. -
If this is the Astalano i used to know in WoT (Italian, Jagdtiger fan), then he is an excellent player who understands tactics. I also agree with his post, as Cruisers do not play their role right atm. I also understand that it is hard to do so, since they get citadelled easily nowadays. If i play my cruiser, i tend to hang in front of my friendly BB and try to screen for torpedos, and planes. I do not engage BB unless there are no other more usefull targets, like dd. Add me ingame if u want some sensible CA with u

Not sure if this is the right spot to place this, but i couldn't find a better forum Would it be possible to add range indicator circles for secondary and AA guns? Especialy now we got that manual skill for secondaries, it would be nice to see a circle on the map so we can see if any ship is in range.

Sink the wows-stats (XVM for warships)
Lieut_Gruber replied to MADcompany's topic in General Discussion
This isn't a hard game, realy. If u spend 1 hour of reading, you know everything there is to know about it. Those who are bad at it, will probably never get any better, because they cannot learn. I was lucky i have some ingame friends who learn those game mechanics realy fast, and taught me over teamspeak. But in game chat, there is very little to learn.- 306 replies

Lieut_Gruber replied to MADcompany's topic in General Discussion
Nonsense. The reason players get frustrated ("toxic") is because we are forced to play with players of different levels. I dont want to play with bad or supergood players, i want to join (and face) players of my own level. THAT is what pisses me off often, you just feel so powerless when u fought hard for the team, and u see some tomatoes throw away the victory because they dont understand the basic game mechanics.- 306 replies

What does it take to sink a ship (semi-OT)
Lieut_Gruber replied to DaWyrm's topic in General Discussion
I think the coastguard ship have that 57mm cannon to stop smaller vessels, like speedboats from drugsrunners. And even a merchant ship will stop if being fired upon by that gun, imagine hits on the bridge. -
Dont fire all torps on the same vector. I usualy put one for if he goes left, one for straight line and one for right turn.
-
Even more useless AA, its a blind guy with a bend rifle standing on the bridge
-
battleship have manual aiming secondaries, they are called "Cruisers". It is their job to keep destroyers away from BB, not to spam HE on enemy BB.

how can i help a red player to start hitting targets? There is a reason a player in a Yamato is red, its because he isnt able to learn stuff.- 306 replies

20% hitrate with the Tirpitz is also too low, try not to switch ships too often so u can get used to the guns.

The only difference between visible and hidden stats is 5 to 10 minutes....the time it takes to see u have a bad team. With xvm u can see it at the start, thats all. Players will still be toxic once they realize the team is bad, only a bit later.- 306 replies

Problems with High tier games....
Lieut_Gruber replied to cherry2blost's topic in General Discussion
the Cruisers should be slightly in front of BB to spot incoming torps for them. -
Problems with High tier games....
Lieut_Gruber replied to cherry2blost's topic in General Discussion
When playing my Kagero, i still try to launch from about 7km, even when my torps have 15km range. Launching at those long distances usualy result in a miss, or 1 lucky hit maybe. -
Carrier Gameplay - Make it more Strategy, less Action
Lieut_Gruber replied to th3freakie's topic in Aircraft Carriers
Sound like you would like the game Navy Field alot more than WoWs. I never played the game, but i have read some posts about it on this forum, seems that game has everything you want, and more. -
I use all my compliments and 'poor player' every day, but the 'poor player' are usualy spend alot faster

This is getting beyond a joke now.
Lieut_Gruber replied to _x_Acheron_x_'s topic in General Discussion
This. Bots can hit stuff, bad players cannot. When i play CV, and i watch an enemy ship from birdseye view, its just awfull to see howmany shells drop behind that ship. And if they manage to score a hit, its usualy a HE shell.... -
simple, they don't like to shoot difficult targets. They rather score some cheap damage on a slow moving BB, who will heal their fire damage completely.
