Jingles has quit the EU WG CC Program

Come on guys, the statement is quite clear, and I for one welcome it. I do not really see the reason to continue pressing the "controversy". Especially since it has not much to do with WoWs (speaking of single titles). To note, every single company in the world has the right to target internet coverage of their products if they disagree with it. No need presenting it as something "appalling" that is WG specific.

Jingles has quit the EU WG CC Program

I understand quite well the source of his "fear" but the risk for him of being pursued by WGNA is basically the same as being hit by the lightning. If he was an inexperienced kid then I would cut him some slack for not really grasping how things work, but as that is not the case, sorry to say but his actions are nothing more than attention-grabbing attempt.

Jingles has quit the EU WG CC Program

I would not discard your theory as nothing can surprise me anymore coming from WG marketing department Speaking of Jingles, as he was not "threatened" by anyone from EU and since WGEU policy seems pretty clear, I quite disliked his reaction. Way too childish and attention-grabbing reaction. Though, well played by him, he managed to grab at least some attention and got a few subs that he would otherwise not.

    Update 0.6.6 Technical Test Feedback

Only managed to play 1 battle so far so very basic comments: - Still a number of things to be fixed, however definitely a good development choice by WG as it was quite fun to play - please don't mess it up by lack of variety in missions / scenarios - Finally a mode that promotes teamwork (if you want to win that is). Who knows, maybe it will have some educational effect on parts of playerbase

Jingles has quit the EU WG CC Program

As WG HO is in Cyprus and Cyprus is in EU, I sure hope that the official policy is what WGEU stated. WGNA guys seem to be special snowflakes, but I guess we are all getting used to the fact that most people in USA are becoming special snowflakes. Maybe we should make a charity event here on EU to get some hot cocoa and small animals to pet, to be sent to WGNA so they can calm down in their safe spaces

Jingles has quit the EU WG CC Program

It seems to me that WG NA guys decided to board the train of "hatespeech & slurs" hysteria which is all too obviously rampant in the USA. So sad to watch... I would not be surprised if there is even a special scoop about it on CNN...

The Competitive scene in World of Warships

Do words need to be always used in their literal sense? Fact remains as I stated that the title is definitely misleading - hence use of "clickbait" epithet. You claim that I am looking for drama and uncivilized discussion? Come on mate, whose posts have you been reading for such a conclusion? Is the below sentence really reminding you of drama&flamewars starting attempt? "...But instead of celebrating the most exciting finals so far in WoWs history, and OM taking KoTS crown, we have people focusing on the bad aspects..." I am sure that you are long enough on the internet to know that quite different language and posts are used to start those... It is especially funny to read such a comment in a thread that has a clear drama creating opening post (on the relation of playerbase - WG) As I said, a lot of items of what Ginger wrote about I agree with. But no matter how right he is, this type of topics in the immediate aftermath of a successful and entertaining tournament and in the "General Discussion" section, are imho not the way to go despite raising legitimate concerns. As an example: General Discussion is by far the most popular area on forums. Lets assume a new player comes by and says "WoWs has competitive? Let me check in the thread what is it about." By reading the OP it is quite likely that he will conclude that WoWs competitive is quite crappy, boring and plagued with issues - not even bothering to try to find a clip to watch. That is a "great job" helping and promoting WoWs competitive... Issues should be discussed, pressure on WG should be exerted to improve, but before all of that I will repeat, repeat and repeat: 1. Many thanks to all the teams participating in this record braking tournament 2. Special thanks to both OMNI and OM for the most exciting finals, as we all know that it takes 2 sides boldly fighting until the last drop of HP for such an epic ending 3. Kudos to organizers and casters for the immense time and effort invested 4. Thanks to WG for providing at least some support & prizes with the hope that the data and feedback you will pass to your managers will motivate WG to invest major effort in the competitive mode since this tournament showed imho that it has a bright future if supported well by the company 5. Lastly I invite all the community to watch the tournament videos as I am sure that most will find it as entertaining as I did Now if you are so adamantly disagreeing with me, feel free to continue bashing my honest opinions and trying to find some non-existing nefarious meanings in between the lines.

The Competitive scene in World of Warships

So disappointed with this topic. Misleading title - clickbait even. I thought I would read about the epic finals yesterday. But instead of celebrating the most exciting finals so far in WoWs history, and OM taking KoTS crown, we have people focusing on the bad aspects... Ginger_General, first of all I agree with a number of your points. However, I cannot help but feel that your original post is a butthurt reaction for not being replied to combined with saltiness from losing the crown - disguised in best intentions.

King of the Sea III - May 13-21

Even though I hoped I could follow this tournament closely, I only managed to catch a small part. So glad that I was able to watch the final OMNI vs OM tonight! By far the greatest and most exciting tournament finals matches I have seen so far Epic play by both teams And special mention to a few of individuals on both sides who truly showed what great players, at their best, can do Not to forget, great casting by Flamu & Izo who really created great atmosphere!

    Iffy smoke shots

Damn mate, you are losing it hard You seem unable to see and read the text, as I clearly stated in both of my posts that you were obviously blind shot. Now it is obvious to me that your brain failed you again during the match, and you "saw" things (i.e. getting locked) which actually never happened
  11. daki

    Iffy smoke shots

I am not, you seem to be the one struggling... If you were locked on then you were clearly and obviously spotted, so there is nothing to discuss about. However as you adamantly claim that you were not spotted, the only other possibility was that you were blind shot. Sorry to say, but it is impossible to get locked on without being spotted. Your enemy clearly explained to you what happened from his perspective (i.e. blind shooting). I understand you are trying to explain it by some "conspiracy theory" but ask yourself, why would the enemy player lie to you?

    Iffy smoke shots

I do not really understand what confuses you here. He clearly stated that he saw you firing, i.e. he saw your shell arcs while not being able to actually see your ship. I got sunk many times like that when playing RN cruisers. I also wrecked plenty of RN cruisers in their smoke, bu judging their position based on shell arcs. Next time make sure that you angle a bit. Furthermore, use sequential fire since firing full salvos makes it quite easy to judge your position in smoke.

    I give up

Why are you putting so much emphasis on survival rate? I have even lower survivability in CAs than you, yet I am still having great fun with them Though, I tend to focus on mid and close ranges and very rarely sail at max range. As long as your play (regardless of death) helped your team win, why should you care if you get occasionally deleted by BBs? Lets be honest you surviving a battle in a BB (which you claim you do not like to play) will not make the match any more fun.
  14. Why do you think this feature was meant to be liked at all? Imho this was never meant to be a "fun and engaging" mechanic. Its sole purpose is to increase "suspense" since it prevents certainty of outcome in an engagement. As in RL warfare where you can never be 100% certain about the outcome of engagement.
  15. Since when are WGEU articles an accurate source of information? I can see that you are eager to expose the "outrage" and "disgrace", but at least wait until tomorrow to make sure that what you claim is correct (or not)
  16. I just checked the EU shop and there are no offers you talk about (i.e. container purchase)...
  17. As long as it is limited to PvE I am OK with that
  18. daki

    Simple suggestion

While I am not a CV player, it does make sense to have +-1 MM for CVs But CAs? I am not really seeing a benefit of greatly reducing the variety of ships you encounter. I have plenty of experience with getting sunk (thanks to my pathetic survival rate ). Lets say that I am in a T8 CA: it is almost as easy to sink it with a T6 BB as it is with a T10 one. All you need is a good salvo or two. At the same time I have great pleasure in sinking T10s in a T8 ship so limiting MM to +-1 would just reduce my enjoyment of the game.

    man this game sucks balls

Yeah I agree, game sucks super-hard with BB players like you. Uninstall immediately and you get my sincere thanks since it will make the game more enjoyable for the rest of us

    Ending passive meta

While it sounds like a logical approach, if introduced it is doomed to fail unfortunately. Why: 1. The campers are yet to notice the economy change which was pretty straightforward and noticeable with fixed costs no matter the HP lost - camping continued to grow 2. There was already a "nerf" in rewarding damage when spotting/tanking damage was introduced - and again it went unnoticed by campers and we just see more and more camping So basically trying the same things that failed is a bit crazy don't you agree? The only thing that can be done is preventing the possibility of camping as much as possible by for example: 1. Reducing map size - not giving a choice to campers to be completely out of the action 2. Reducing the team size - which would remove one of the main camper arguments "if I move forward I get focused by too many enemies"
  21. daki

    Ending passive meta

Simple solution for camping: Reduce team sizes to 7v7 or 9v9 + Reduce map size = at least 90% of camping gone
  22. IMHO you are completely missing the point of detonation mechanics. Detonation was neither introduced as a "fun and engaging" mechanic, nor was introduced to depict "historical accuracy". Its sole purpose is to increase "suspense" in the game - i.e. an occasional "unexpected" event. Like in boxing when a lucky punch by the underdog wins the bout in the 15th round. In addition, lets be honest, one of the main aspects of warfare is that "anything can happen", and that even the best strategic/tactical plans may fall apart due to random events. Do I like it? Looking at it, in isolation of the rest of the game&mechanics, of course not (even when I am the one detonating the enemy). Would I like it removed? Definitely not since it would remove part of suspense. Already too many people are killing suspense in the game by excessive camping.
  23. Just met Aotearas and Reaper_JackGBR Always great to see fellow forumites on the same team, especially when it is a win. WP guys Though the battle was too easy for my taste thanks to rather hard camping by the enemy.

    DD need a nerf

Joking aside and to get back on topic, the player cowardice levels are just unbelievable in WoWs. What is more worrying is the increasing trend in the last few months. Of course, BBs lead the cowards pack by a large margin, but that is not to say that there aren't plenty of coward DDs or CAs. Unfortunately I do not believe that there are now any mechanics changes by WG which can alter what is essentially a "psychological" problem. It was created by the simplistic view of WoWs which basically boils down to: 1. Damage dealt is the most important thing 2. In order to maximize damage, you must try to survive as long as possible This is the mantra repeated ad nauseam by most players (including good ones). However, while the good and great players know that in reality the situation is quite more complicated than that, the average or below average ones tend not to understand that. Why more complicated? If anything, because the "quality" of damage is 10x more important than the sheer quantity of damage. Equally important is the timing of damage. Any damage dealt after the match has been decided (e.g. insurmountable points difference or ships difference), is completely useless for the purpose of affecting match outcome. Lastly, since most of the playerbase is average or below average and hence cannot grasp more complex concepts of WoWs, we have the current situation, i.e. large numbers of clueless cowards who are adamantly sure they are doing the right thing.

    UNREALISTIC SMOKE ACCURACY

Hahaha it reminded me a bit of Oliver North. To paraphrase him, dasCKD could have stated: "I have absolutely no recollection if it was meant as an advertisement or not - my memory has been shredded"
