Is the Baltimore just a huge money grubbing scheme by WG?
daki replied to avrahams1's topic in General Discussion
Wow, you are a rude little one Hello Mr. wiseguy, what are tier 5 ships for? To grind money to finance high tier battles... -
So I guess we will have yet another "aim assist" type of thread The funny part is the level of hypocrisy shown by many "outraged" players here. WoWs (as well as WoT) is among the most cheat/hack/exploit free games on the market. Even the existing ones tend to have much less impact compared to cheats existing for other AAA titles, so I never really understood why we have so much fuss here about it. Yes it is an issue to be raised and addressed, but at least so far WoWs developers have shown in practice that they are trying to prevent cheats and fight cheaters - for me that is the important thing

Is the Baltimore just a huge money grubbing scheme by WG?
daki replied to avrahams1's topic in General Discussion
Indeed. Though earning money is the goal of every company. That is why this type of thread is pointless since we can say that about all major developers, i.e. that every single one of them is running "huge money grabbing schemes". Hell, we can even say that for every single commercial enterprise. I wonder if those who whine about the "schemes" here on forum also go to their local bakers or shops (or whatever) to whine and accuse them of "money grabbing schemes". -
http://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/public-test/public-test-057/ And now some mad copy/paste skillz The Public Test will be running from 8 June at 18:30 CEST until 13 June at 15:00 CEST. Indeed, my bad (or rather say brainfart) Nevertheless we still speak of a minor nerf which is neither confirmed (just look at patch notes) nor even implemented. Not to mention that WG can now easily introduce specific upgrades for specific ships like it was the case for Yubari or Iwaki.

Before closing the discussion lets not forget about the possible buffs: In slot 1 Auxiliary Armaments Mod. 1 provides 100% secondary battery survivability (AA mounts as well)! Truly dedicated close quarter fighters (as many seem to be here) could use this and get indestructible secondaries. Taking into account how much of them usually get destroyed by HE spams (reducing significantly damage dealt), this can be viewed as a huge buff...

Indeed, but that is a behavior more suited to tank commanders or pilots... Captains should be more cool-headed

People, this is PT still. No need for "OMG nerf panic" right now. Lets see what will be after release. Also, lets be honest, even if this is in the final version, out of total damage dealt you will lose less than 1k - rather immaterial effect. Sorry to say, but compared to real nerfs we have seen in previous patches (of various ships, even classes), this is a joke. Definitely not something to be raging & whining so much about...

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
daki replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Also met him yesterday in his Taiho. Though he did not have much luck or good teammates. It was fun to watch the mating rituals of 2 CVs while they were being under fire, and I farmed some decent damage without much opposition from the planes (I was in Khaba). -
A bold move to do it from scratch again, but I applaud it.

I of course agree that the forums can always be a nicer place, and it is clear that it is basically up to us players to make it so. Furthermore I also agree that we can all be more helpful to new players since the game mechanics and basics, despite seeming quite simple at first glance, can be quite challenging to new players especially after the PvE to PvP switch. What I tend to disagree on is the reason you state, i.e. player population. I know that my opinion is in the minority here, but I personally hope that the player population will not increase compared to current numbers. I would rather prefer having a stable, dedicated and experienced playerbase (e.g. 70-80% of the total) which would be helpful to both new players and themselves, than a high portion of "new" players. I am mainly basing my opinion on experience from WoT. Having played since closed beta (until WoWs beta was launched), the quality of community started going down the drain once there was a strong influx of new players (i.e. basically after the EU server population exceeded 40k concurrently). Larger the population is, more are there "smartasses" who think to know it all about the game, ships... (or tanks for that matter) with very little or no experience to back it up and the usual stance of "I am great but my teammates suck, ships suck, WG sucks... yeah a lot of sucking going on ). While not being the only reason for increased toxicity, it is an important reason nevertheless as that population tends to be very vocal and of course never accepts a different point of view. This in turn leads to even newer players getting bad advice, which over a time leads to a decline in gameplay quality, more toxicity on forums and ingame... a vicious circle. Last but not least, while again I fully support a nicer WoWs community and I am strongly opposed to insults, threats or other abusive behavior, lets not be purists. In small quantities a little bit of trolling, smart sarcasm or elitism provides some nice entertainment value

What is [edited] is that so many players here completely fail to understand that damage as such only brings limited amount of credits. Again, this is not WoT or "kill all" game where damage dealt is basically the alpha and omega of success. Instead of farming damage, try farming caps, decaps and those pesky destroyers and your revenue will skyrocket But I guess we have way too many WoT players which have difficult time in understanding the difference between the two titles.

You do not need a new account. Register via PT website with the existing. It will also give you a few bonus goodies (premium day, flags) on your main account. Follow the instructions on: http://worldofwarships.eu/en/content/pt-guide/ From the guide: "We recommend you register your Public Test Account with the same email address you are using for your standard (live server) account. That way we can deliver any rewards granted for participating in the Public Test sessions."

Some info I saw on RU forums about the new upgrades: Sub_Octavian posted an image regarding the new Artillery Plotting Room modification 1: Apologies for possible major errors in translation (do not really know Russian but can read cyrillic) but instead of only giving boost to primary armament range now it will provide: +16% range of primary guns +20% range of secondary guns -20% dispersion of secondary guns Quite more useful Also he gave some hints on propulsion modification: Google translate from http://forum.worldofwarships.ru/index.php?/topic/56281-%d0%b1%d1%8e%d0%bb%d0%bb%d0%b5%d1%82%d0%b5%d0%bd%d1%8c-%d1%80%d0%b0%d0%b7%d1%80%d0%b0%d0%b1%d0%be%d1%82%d0%ba%d0%b8-057-%d1%86%d0%b8%d0%ba%d0%bb%d0%be%d0%bd-%d0%b1%d0%bb%d0%b8%d0%b7%d0%ba%d0%be/page__st__60__pid__2311926#entry2311926 : ... Hint: it will be much more useful. The action will increase by more than 2 times, and when overclocked to 6 knots will automatically boost engine power by 50%. UPD: there asked - yes, "Cyclone" is will be only random battles, no RB. .... While we are speaking about the RU forums, another info from him (not related to the new patch, but in that thread): ... Work on the matchmaker, "2.0" is completed and it passes the internal audit. If all goes well, will go in the next version. We are in any case not going to throw this line of work, on the contrary, it is a priority in the "top 3" just comes. ...

Unfortunately it is then the most epic fail in my eyes... I have to wonder about the decision making system in WGEU when you manage to ruin an overall good event with a completely anticlimactic and misleading end. The saddest part is that I know that it was just a matter of sending a few emails from WGEU office to company HQ and get a quick consent to get a flag/credits... whatever prize to compensate for a rather dumb screwup! Off I go to also write a ticket to support. As WG measures only complaints received via Support, that is the only way to ensure that my voice has been heard at least in a small way about this major failure. Edit: To note, MrConway I gave you +1 and I appreciate your effort and contribution to community relations. Always brave to start such topic

Good topic, but TBH I expected a better opening post, than to focus on some trivialities and some plain wrong things imho. My 2 cents: The good: - A lot of "epic" and exciting moments no matter the win or loss - Ship models are gorgeous and sailing mechanics do give an impression of steering thousands of tons beasts of steel - Shelling, fires, gun sounds... look and sound great - Overall, the patches (despite some major misses and screwups) did improve the quality of all aspects of the game, and give hope for the future - Decent balance overall (compared to similar titles) - Decent community with limited amount of toxicity (again compared to similar titles) - Weather effects are very nice (though I would like to have some matches where it would be turned on for the entire duration) The bad: - WG is still wandering in the fog about the CV class. While I am not a CV player, I would nevertheless like to see more of them as they add an important (and challenging) dimension to the game - Matchmaking: While I in general think that it is not too bad, I pretty much despise matches with troll divisions. Please do not keelhaul me for what I am going to say next, but I also wish we had no mirror matchmaking (like in beta) as it adds quite a bit of variety and forces players to change and adjust roles. - Lack of CW, lack of rewards for TB... - i.e. lack of good teamplay oriented modes & incentives The ugly: - High tier meta: by far the biggest issue imho. Its so much less fun than mid or low tiers. Way too much camping and fear (half the team starts basically retreating as soon as the enemy is spotted let alone shot at...) making me feel that most people reaching high tiers forget how this game is "meant to be played". WG should take some bold steps such as reducing the high tier matches to say 8vs8 (i.e. anything below 10vs10), cut map size or viewing distance to force closer encounters, adjust range of guns or increase/decrease the dispersion non-linearly (better accuracy close range and much worse long range)... Basically many possibilities yet very little tried or done by the developers.

I guess the OP is just trolling, he does not even have one... Though it is more of a light cruiser than a destroyers, so he is at least partially right in the title

sticking in Launcher while the client updates
daki replied to Herr_Aurel's topic in General Discussion
You can always try launching the game WorldOfWarships.exe from the installation folder (if you have installed the game patch in the previous days) -
When will WG ban this creep? - as I doubt very much he will leave...

4th Ranked Season Starting on the 10.06.2016!
daki replied to Yoshi_EU's topic in General Discussion
Looks much better than the previous seasons. Though I expect the fastest players to rank 1 will have to wait for days and weeks until there are enough people in rank 1 to populate T10 matches (and of course wanting to play in ranked T10) - i.e. I very much doubt that this part of season will be successful or feasible at all due to low player counts. -
For Mikasa its not overcomplicating. Main guns are useless so why even bother aim and click Though it may make the ship very fun. It could be like a perfect troll ship. Just trying to get close and personal
-
It happened once to me as well, also a destroyer trolled me. It was annoying but he got bored after about 5 mins. Good thing is that WoWs captains tend to be level-headed so this WoT crap of behavior will not take hold I hope.

If team points go below 0 then it is an automatic loss no matter the points remaining until 1000 for the enemy team. It usually happens when there is a camping team which gets no or very few cap points, so losing several ships is enough to get the points below 0. It happened to me a few days ago in a match where all my teammates were actively avoiding caps (domination game), so I had to try to cap in a battleship (did not go well as you can imagine without any support). To note, we had 4 vs 3 enemy DDs and the same amount of cruisers (it was T8-T10 battle). When I asked my team if they understood that the point of domination is getting caps, I received one of the best answers so far: "stfu noob, caps are for losers, game is about sinking ships"

How to use Grand Naval Battles diamonds
daki replied to Pincopallino945's topic in General Discussion
You can use them immediately. Go to treasures tab on the GNB page and click on "open" below the treasure you want. Though I have to say that there are no chests with "camouflage type 3 x25". You get those after reaching personal milestone of collecting 200 diamonds, but you do not need to spend any as you get them automatically. For diamonds you can get all combat flags x10 and all economic flags x10 chests (for 50 diamonds each chest)
