    USS Missouri

You need 750.000 free XP to unlock it. Each battle you gain 5% of your total XP as free XP. If you have fully researched ships or premium ships, you generate XP which may be converted to free XP via usage of doubloons. XP generation can be increased via usage of signal flags or cammos. So if you are a new player, please note: - It will take you long time to generate that amount of free XP - Reconsider the need for high tier premiums until you learn the game (you need a few thousands of games for that), as otherwise you will have bad time in tier 9

Since last Patch my stats have dropped..

I think I spotted the problem. When you start "blaming" external factors for your performance, it is a guaranteed path to stagnation and deterioration. Bad streaks happen to all players, both good and bad. If you feel "burned out", best is to take a short break, think objectively what you can improve, watch a few vids and read some guides to better understand the mechanics. One does not reach his/her peak after 1.100 battles. Imho even after 5k battles there is still plenty to learn and improve.
  4. Not shooting at it would definitely be better. Since Bayern has less than 15km concealment, you would be better off holding your fire at least until that distance. Accuracy and penetration increase significantly with a decreased distance to target. Imho one should always first master medium and short range shooting skills before moving to long range.
  5. Indeed, defending the base in standard battle is an important task in case it is threatened. So from strategic perspective I cannot say that you are wrong. However you seem to have issues with tactical implementation of a defensive strategy. If you want to be a successful defender, you have to use cruisers and destroyers. Battleships are not well suited for that role. From your comments and stats I understand that you are using the so called "passive defense" tactics by staying in the rear, which is defined as: "minimizing the damage caused by hostile actions without the intention of taking initiative". What you should do is to focus instead on "active defense" tactics which is defined as: "Employment of offensive action and counterattacks to deny a contested area or position to the enemy". Your gun range circle gives you the area you can immediately contest. To put it very simplisticly, if your base is say in the south, your goal is to position yourself in a way that your cap is roughly south of that circle while the enemy ships are within the north half of that circle. In such a way you both cover the base if someone tries to sneak, and provide support for the offense. If you want to be a successful defender, you must have a much higher "Contribution to Defense" stat. Based on your ingame profile you seem to be achieving only 8% average. As a comparison, I am definitely not a defender type of guy, yet on average have 14%. A player who is strong in defensive duties will inevitably have well over >50% winrate, so you have a lot of work and practice in front of you. The good thing is that with less than 600 battles you can still change the gameplay style before you build the bad habits with the existing one. There are plenty of experienced fellow forumites which will give you good advice here on forums, not to mention tons of videos and guides which can help you. So listen to them with an open mind, implement the suggestions and you will never be called a camper or shot at due to cowardice. Not to mention that your results will soar upwards
  6. I watched a few Posh streams some long time ago, so its sad news for me (some of his rages were quite fun). That being said this has nothing to do with WoWs and should be in the off-topic section

    Lock on target

It happens occasionally. If I remember correctly it usually happens near obstacles.

    The Meta

To be fair he mostly plays in good divisions, that being the main reason for such a high WR (besides his great skills of course). So the only thing his stats in Hakuryu prove is that it scales great with teamwork. Unfortunately he played very little solo, however despite limited number of battles his 64% WR in Hakuryu is more representative of a single player contribution.

    The Meta

Well some of us find games where there is good teamwork as great fun... Lemmingtrain while being effective vs CV is imho the lowest possible form of teamwork, reserved for those with the lack of tactical imagination and coordination ability.

    Ranked Battles Season 6

I will try to give my honest feedback on how this season felt to me: Usually my goals in ranked were to reach rank 10 to rank 5 depending on rewards (I was mostly looking for signal flags). During this season I decided to go for rank 1 in order to be able to have an overall impression on the ranked meta, since the rewards beyond rank 10 were rather meh to put it lightly. Being a player who enjoys aggressive early game for points advantage (my euphemism for borderline YOLO play), as you can imagine, I experienced mixed results. After reaching rank 5 I definitely needed to tone down a bit the aggression, and it was then relatively easy to reach rank 1. Despite rather weak rewards, I have to say that I experienced some small satisfaction in completing the ranked season (since it was my first try to go for rank 1). Due to some RL obligations, whenever I had the chance to play, I would go for 10-15 ranked matches in a session. Some sessions were great and some were just goddamn awful. The common thing in the bad sessions were the high levels of rage I experienced. After one or two unfortunate losses I would often lose composure which led to just plain stupid play from my part. Most of my games were in Fiji and Sims, and a few in Belfast. After this rather long introduction I will try summarize my opinions: 1. Way too many players try not to lose a star instead of trying to gain it. 2. Smoke/radar heavy meta did not bother me much as there are clear ways to fight it. 3. While ranked was meant imho to foster teamplay, the results are rather opposite. In most cases it is not worth sacrificing for your team or to get an advantage for your teammates 4. Survival is key. Selfish play seems to bring better results. Out of the battles I survived (which were not many ), a whopping 96% were wins 5. The reward structure where the top ranks get rewarded with some dubious upgrades is a complete fail by WG. Imho it would make much more sense to have those upgrades for rewards for say ranks 20-15 or 15-10 6. Those who claim that ranked is mostly about "luck" are just plain clueless. The increase in player quality closer you get to rank 1 is quite obvious. That being said, I do not dispute that there are a few bad ones in higher ranks, but those are rather an exception. Imho having a bad player or a decent player which makes a bad decision/play are quite different things (despite leading to the same outcome in a specific match). We are all guilty of bad plays and decisions from time to time. The difference is which players will redeem themselves in the next matches and which will not. 7. Belfast is way too overrated here on forums. 8. It would be nice if WG would experiment with other tiers such as T4 (sounds like great fun to me ) 9. I thought that Epicenter mode will bring some more aggressive and fun play (i.e. big brawls for central caps), but I was completely wrong. I did not enjoy it at all. 10. Stars system & progression should be reworked completely since ranked imho should be about teamwork and personal contribution and not just about selfish play.
  11. Welcome and good luck!

King of the Sea Feedback: Frequency

From a viewer perspective: Please note that my comments are from "ideal" perspective, i.e. based on expectation that there will be adequate support from WG - How often are you interested in competitive gameplay? I would like to be able to watch on a weekly basis. As an example, even though I stopped playing WoT, I greatly enjoy watching WGL (both live and re-runs). So it would be great if leagues would be covered in addition to tournaments. Tournaments should be seasonal imho, but leagues of various tiers could be much more frequent and I believe quite fun to follow thanks to bigger diversity (of both teams and ships). - How long should a stream be? Ideally about 4-5hr for me. - What would you want from the casters to do/talk about? Tactics, teams backgrounds, best plays (once WG provides replay tools like in WoT WGL), more interviews with players... Speaking of tactics discussion, it would be great if streamers would use WoWs tactics app as it really helps better explain what happened during the match. For those who are unaware: http://wowstactic.tk/ It would also be great if WG devs or staff could be available during streams (e.g. during breaks) for some short Q&As and interaction with streamers and viewers. Community Contributors could also get involved and have their own short segments on stream about: naval history, game mechanics and ship characteristics, etc. WG staff and CC participation would also allow streamers some much needed rest & breaks during the stream, as I believe it is much tougher and tiresome to cast than to just stream your own gameplay. Some additional thoughts (for WG): There should be much more prizes for both participants and viewers. So more raffles, match prediction lotteries... Also all tournament participants irrespective of how far they managed to progress should get at least some prizes. Prizes (for viewers) could be varied from containers to even t-shirts and such. Please also consider organizing some WoWs tournament finals during WoT Grand Finals as it would greatly increase the spotlight of WoWs competitive scene. And I am sure the top teams would enjoy being invited (at WG expense) to participate and join the WoT pros (aren't we all a big WG family after all?) Developing casting tools (spectator modes, overlays...) should be one of the priorities as streams imho are among the best marketing tools nowadays.

King of the Sea Feedback: Frequency

Excellent idea imho. Such structure would allow: 1. Less load for top teams 2. More games played for weaker/newer teams 3. More viewer exposure for weaker/newer teams since a lot of matches cannot be cast in the current format 4. More WoWs competitive matches for the viewing pleasure - with 1.5k+ concurrent viewers on twitch there is no doubt that tournaments are popular. In relative terms I would even say that WoWs tournaments could be considered more popular than WoT tournaments (when you take into account the sizes of playerbases, how much WG is investing in WoT vs WoWs tournaments...) Just for the sake of discussion, seasonal tournaments could consist of 8 teams. 4 teams qualifying from semifinals of the previous seasonal tournament and 4 teams coming from one or more qualifying tournaments. If any team from the previous seasonal tournament drops or can't make it, there could be a small qualifiers during the seasonal tournament (not more than 4 teams) to fill in the empty spot. Otherwise a rule can be setup depending on matches won, etc., which would determine which team would replace the drop-out team. And yes, prizes. WGEU please don't be so cheap. Imho all teams participating should get some reward. At least a commemorative flag.
  14. I would say that K/D is one of the more questionable stats from the point of view of performance prediction. The main reason being that very few games finish with "kill all" scenario which would make K/D a stronger indicator. Furthermore I have seen plenty of players with high K/D ratio (e.g. more than 3) and still below 50% WR. A lot of player focusing on K/D tend to have a very selfish & campy playstyle. Not all, but a large number imho. Basically they play very passive early and mid game and then proceed to try to clear up the low hp opponents in late game. I usually see them doing very little to nothing in the first 10-12 minutes. If the enemy team gathers a big points advantage leading to own team loss, they tend to whine in chat about "idiot" teammates, forgetting of course that they did nothing to prevent that lead. If on the other hand they manage to kill off a few low HP enemies and win the game, they tend to think of themselves as big heroes of the match while forgetting that such outcome would be impossible without teammates who sacrificed themselves for the team beforehand. Due to lack of more detailed publicly available stats which measure player contribution, like it or not the winrate over a sufficiently large number of battles still remains the best overall indicator.
  15. Good article but maybe lacking a bit of depth... To be fair to monkeys as there are many species, it should be noted that only two local species are known to have taken part in this scheme in Cambodia. 1. Black-shanked douc (Pygathrix nigripes) Those are the best solo grinders. They even achieve good stats (both winrate wise and WTR). Please note the blue color of scrotum and pink (sometimes even purplish) p.nis. The ones with darker hues of blue scrotum tend to achieve better stats, despite occasional issues with teamkilling. The intelligent looking face confirms that they have above average minimap awareness for a BB player. However, they tend to dislike playing BBs since they prefer a more aggressive playstyle, so only a limited number of accounts was available for sale. Please note that good stats come at a steep price so be ready to pay a good sum of money for that account. If you see a decent BB account which experiences a sudden drop in winrate and damage dealt, it is quite likely to be an account grinded by this beautiful and intelligent primate. 2. Yellow-cheeked crested gibbons (Nomascus gabriellae): As their color (and name) implies, they tend to be more passive and timid BB players. Since they are easily scared they prefer to play in divisions and tend to loiter close to map borders and spawn point. Due to their poor map awareness and fear of being shot at, they tend to run as soon as they are targeted by an enemy, no matter the tactical or ship advantage their team has. When forced to play solo in order to grind the account faster, they tend to get so paralyzed by fear that they are often mistook for AFK players or bots. In nature, like all gibbon species, they are known for rather unique songs. The songs are usually initiated by the male. The female will then join in and sing with the male to reinforce their bond and announce to other gibbons that they are a pair in a specific territory. In WoWs you can recognize these songs as gibberish whine in ingame chat. If you see their division buddy joining the whine, it is hence likely a male/female gibbon division. Gibbon grinded accounts are abundant since they are easily trained to press "Battle" button.

What a poop post Albert You should definitely brush up a bit the history knowledge. 1. Did you know that the Eastern front was by far the bloodiest theater of war in WW2 with more ground combat taking place there than all the other theaters combined? 2. Did you know that Germany sent over 3 million soldiers there in 1941 invasion (excluding their allies)? What do you think would have happened if those soldiers were sent for example to invade Britain instead? 3. Did you know that Germany suffered 80% of their total WW2 casualties in fighting the Soviets? Not to mention over 33.000 tanks and 14.000 planes lost... In other words the rest of Allies combined account only for 20%, so basically the Soviets did most of the dirty work in dealing with the Nazis, and in essence saved the hides of all the Western allies. Compared to the Eastern front, the Battle of Britain which is cherished so much in your history books could be considered as a minor skirmish. So if anyone could be called "ungrateful" both during and after WW2 its the US/UK and the rest of Western allies... That being said, it is beyond doubt that Lend Lease was one of the major factors in winning the war. However it is equally beyond doubt that thanks to Russians, millions and millions of US/UK soldier and civilian lives have been saved, while to this day they are still digging out the bones of countless German and Russian poor soldiers wasted on the Eastern front.
  17. I would disagree with that statement. The main goal of the match is to basically get 1000 points. Unlike WoT, most matches in WoWs end on points and not by killing off the entire enemy team. WR meaningless? Thats quite debatable to say the least... At least it is much more meaningful than the destruction ratio imho. If I could choose, I would always rather have teammates with high WR and low DR on my team, than high DR and low WR.

  19. Indeed, the changes are yet to stand the test of time
  20. Well, you were the one to mention "Performance Dropping but cant understand why?" So I answered to that If you ask about general balancing (before vs after patch), it is a very generic question which is hence very difficult / impossible to answer. It depends on which ships you like to play, class, nations, your playstyle, tiers... Personally I find that there were some good decisions in the new patch and there were some bad ones. Some ships (and/or classes) are a bit better balanced and some are not. Hence some might claim that the balance improved and some that it has deteriorated - and they would be all correct in their opinions depending on the situation. So the best I can answer is that there is not a big impact. The game is neither broken after the patch, nor are there any major balancing issues solved.
  21. I would rather say "Lets Talk SeaWolf7..." You had below average stats before, and you have them now as well. You struggled with 5.1 average tier before, and you struggle more now that you play a bit higher tiers - nothing strange or unexpected. All in all I do not see here anything WG related. Please do not consider it as any type of criticism. I am just pointing out that imho there are no arguments to blame WG for what you have been experiencing recently. It has happened before this patch to many other players and it has nothing to do with patches.

It's time for a revolution in WoWs

It is already introduced but not in a form of "reward" compared to old system. What they did is to put it simply give the "old" amount of xp/credits in case a player contributes more than just dmg (i.e. spots, tanks...), while selfish damage dealers are basically penalized. In other words while there are no "new" rewards based on those stats, there is now a punishment for selfish play. Of course if that is enough or not is another subject

Is Flamu Right About The Mogami?

Depending on situations, good players play either more aggressively or more passively. Hence while I cannot honestly say that he never camps, it does not mean that he has a campy playstyle. To note, in my book the definition of campy playstyle is a passive style of play which does not contribute to team's chances of win. When looking at stats, imho the only numerical indicators which we can check in profile stats are "First blood" rate and WR. While FB achievement rate is rather useless on a stand alone basis, if looked together with WR, it does give some indication imho. My key assumption is that people which have a high number of FB achievements tend to be positioned aggressively in early match. Above being said, of course I am well aware how "ungrateful" and problematic it is to judge a playstyle solely based on very limited number of stats. Unfortunately there are no indicators which show mid or late game aggressive play, since First Blood just gives an indication about early game. So Flamu has as of now 106 FB achievements in 7.847 so about once every 74 matches. While that sounds quite campy at first glance, he has at the same time 66.82% WR. Hence, based on these 2 stats only, I would best describe his playstyle as: Excellent positional player with very high contribution to win Not to be looking at him only, lets see what Izoz manages (since I also consider him a great player): In 6.530 battles played he had 842 FB achievements or roughly once every 8 matches. At the same time he has 70.77% WR. So these 2 stats wise, I consider him as an excellent and very aggressive player with very high contribution to win. In short: 1. High WR and high FB rate - mainly aggressive player 2. High WR and low FB rate - mainly positional player 3. Low WR and high FB rate - mainly a YOLO player 4. Low WR and low FB rate - mainly a camper In the end, no matter the stats, only by watching a large number of a player's games can you really judge the playstyle. I have watched plenty of Flamu streams (as well as Izo's streams and many other streamers), and personally I would never describe him as a camper player. I have a genuine "hatred" for campers and never like to see them on my team. Speaking of Flamu, I wish I always had a player of his caliber on my team
  24. Try to reinstall the entire game. Thats what I do when it gets buggy after patch.
