    WARSPITE REFERENDUM

The Warspite is pre-doused in petrol before going into battle because being on fire is cool mmkay. Had a hideous moment yesterday in my grand old lady. Early in a ranked. I was on fire bow to stern. Hit DC to put out the fires. Then suddenly took a triple citadel hit from a New York at 16km. Then I took another salvo from a CA -> 3 fires (single salvo). Death by fire. The Risk of Fire on the Warspite must be much higher than other BB's of it's tier. If I don't take a citadel I will probably spend the entire match fighting fires and receiving about 40k damage from fires. I'd love WG to provide the "Risk of Fire" stat in the port screen like the "Torpedo Damage Reduction" stat is displayed.

    WARSPITE REFERENDUM

I think the Warspite suffers from the same thing that all Tier 6 ships suffer from and that is the current "meta" Tier 9 and 10 games are not very much fun (from what I've heard). Not only that the entrance bar to them is massive. Tier 8 is also where premium ships top out. These factors compound together and give a swollen tier 8 population. This means that tier 8 ships find them selves as top tier very often and the poor gits in tier 6 end up as bottom tier far more often than top tier. This makes tier 6 a really difficult tier to play as you're are usually at a disadvantage every single match. It sucks but that's how it is. The Warspite in particular is a very strange ship though, especially when it comes to balance methods. The Warspite has excellent accuracy so in order to balance that they gave it slow turning turrets but they also gave it really short range too and it's built to brawl in the current design. This is counter productive as short range ships should have the fastest turning turrets. Really the way ship balancing should be carried out is like this: If you have long range > slower turning turrets If you have fast turning turrets > shorter range If you have good accuracy > slower rate of fire If you have high rate of fire > poor accuracy Why should things be balanced this way? Well because it is intuitive and it marries well together. If your ship is designed to fight at short range your turrets turn faster to stay on target but your weakness is that you're easily out ranged/kited If your ship is designed to fight at long range your turrets turn slower because your weakness is not being able to keep your guns on target at short range. The Warspite has one benefit: Excellent Accuracy. However it pays for this far too heavily. It has short range and it's slow (these two shouldn't be together as they're a counter to each other) and it's turrets turn very slowly. It probably only needs a small buff to range and I would happily pay for that with a small nerf to Rate of Fire (which makes sense as it has largest guns for tier and excellent accuracy). So. For me the Warspite could use: plus 2 km to 3 km main battery range (max range is then about 18.5 to 19.5 km) Plus 3 seconds to main battery reload time Replace the spotter plane with a fighter

Some interesting info around the world

Has that Warspite been fitted with the upgrade module "British Ration Pack" ala WoT? also, can anyone else spot the war trophies from the deafeat of the Spanish Armada?

    Upgrade changes

What they will come up with is absolutely no changes to what they originally proposed and the update will just quietly deploy without any kind of notification. Why? Cause they already notified you that it would be delayed a "week" so expect it on Thursday. P.S. Agree that the upgrades should not have been blended.

    unusual ship builds/setups

unfortunately, without decent alternate hulls (instead of just the best) trying to do anything special in the game is difficult. I find it disappointing that the USN DD's AA spec hull is only marginally better at shooting down planes but you give up a huge chunk of your firepowah for it. Those hulls need a buff to their AA firepowah then we can have proper AA support DD's. The IJN DD's could use a Gunnery Spec'd hull where they give up some performance with torps for better gunnery. etc etc But we will also need a really good set of upgrades that actually make sense for that to work.

    Nurnberg

I must be weird cause I played 60 battles in the N-Burg and walked away with: 58.33% Win Ratio (49.63% is Average) 35,984 Ave Damage (25,304 is average) 35% survived (27% is average) Not sure what I was doing so differently. Haven't been in that tub for a while now. I'm pretty sure I always tried to use the awesome AP damage but when it starts to fail I quickly switched to HE. I'm also pretty sure I played my advantage of the "Fighting Retreat" where I would charge forward and then turn around keeping them at about 13-15km running away shaking my [edited]like a two dollar whore whilst keeping my LMB firmly pressed down. Seemed to work for me.

    Secondary Guns, Team Killing

I am a member of the Mikasa Appreciation Society. I know how to use secondaries. I was trying to prove a point that secondaries are a bit "meh" in most cases. Some ships literally have another ship welded to them in the form of secondaries but it never really feels that way. The Mikasa has a St. Louis bolted to each side of it. The Tirpitz and the Warspite has a Cleveland bolted to it. The Cleveland itself has a Tashkent bolted to it but it never feels like it does. Other examples abound..... However, these weapons are more or less a side show unless you use extreme examples with extreme builds and even then they have fairly poor performance (Yamato excluded).

    Secondary Guns, Team Killing

The hilarity is that secondaries seem to be better at team killing than killing enemies!!

    Bomber squads dying all together

Flying? as apposed to subterranean? To be fair, I do enjoy it when my Kamikaze R becomes a sailing guided missile when my attempt to dive bomb goes pair shaped and I say "oh wel...... BANZAI!!!!!"

    Bomber squads dying all together

I'd like to be able to strafe enemy ships too so that I can "suppress" their AA gunners whilst making bombing runs

Some interesting info around the world

Just go full Russian on their asses when under 8km. If you jump on a BB during a cyclone rush him and torp him whilst hitting him double hard with your Stalinium dispensers I dive bomb BB's in my Sveitlana for giggles and usually come out on top and that's in clear weather!! and if you're not going to destroy them in a single pass and they will sink you as you try to run away don't run away. Ram them! (whilst screaming the obligatory "For Stalin!")

    Best upgrades?

I know, right? Tomorrow I'm gonna be all.....

    Best upgrades?

Well the choice is being removed and it's all gonna be generalized. So, you go for; Slot 1 main battery survivability Slot 2 main battery accuracy or range (which ever is available to that ship type) Slot 3 choose either better survivable rudder / engine as the other one does diddly squat Slot 4 either faster rudder shift or faster acceleration And that is how you set up every single ship now

    Secondary builds are nerfed tommorrow.

Well, Gentle ladies and mental men. Get your buckets ready to bail out your bilges. The cyclone of (salty) tears from those who don't read patch notes and forums will be immense. I'll be surprised if anyone will be able to see anything beyond 8km in clear weather let alone a cyclone as this shitstorm will be huge.

    WARSPITE REFERENDUM

My only issue with the Warspite is that it seems to be doused in petrol. I took (I think) 86k fire damage in one battle (and survived somehow). I was constantly on fire. Thank god for superintendent and premium repair party!!

Well today I will be buying some popcorn as the inevitable cyclone that is the shitstorm coming tomorrow when all the peeps who don't read patch notes and visit the forums get hit with this monster. It will be very entertaining. I have my buckets at the ready to catch the salty tears.

and the patch is going ahead. 16th of June. Feedback on upgrade changes ignored. Well, guess I'll be mothballing my specialized BB ships. Cruisers and DD's from now on. Shame really
