    Ok so the NA is having a Patch today (27th Dec) with this in the patch notes : Fixed bug with smoke screen consumable not being usable immediatly after cooldown ends. So it looks like its being fixed at last.
  2. I got my self 2 Admiral's Present's. Got the Ishizuchi out of one not the best but its one I don't have and wasn't really looking to buy but the Present was cheaper than the ship so cant complain. And 180 days of Premium out of the other. So very happy with what I got, they paid for them selves after I got the ship then to get all that Prem time was icing on the cake.

    If that's what it takes then fine ill take it but don't tell me my smoke is off cool down and then make me wait 2-4 secs longer in a pinch situation that can determine the out come of the rest of that game for me. And yes these 2 bugs Smoke and Rudder are the 2 I encounter most often and for quite minor input Delays/bugs they can have quite a big impact on your game can be very frustrating to take damage or even get sunk because of these issues.

    IJN DD's in PTS 0.5.15

    And there you go confirmation right there that the "Secret addition to this patch" is the IJN DD split. Anyway I'm not sure what to make of the split, stats wise they have made them more progressional with the torpedoes rather than the ups and downs we currently have (Minikaze to Mutsuki for example) but I still don't see the so called gunboats being all that good you are still going to end up using your torpedo's more than the guns, the guns have just become a bit less situational. US and RN DDs are still going to walk all over you so you are still going to have to play the same way and pick and chose your fights whilst dropping torpedos on targets, while I wasn't expecting a massive play style change between Torpedo and Gunboats I don't think they have enough of a difference to change the current IJN DD torpedo meta regardless of which line your playing with the only exception being the new Tier 8 Gunboat.

Yeah when I saw this mission I thought how much of pain it was going to be having to play tier 8 -10 and trying to sink Russian ships that are quite rare at these tiers (ofc tier 8 can see tier 6 Russian). But I have to say I'm quite pleasantly surprised at my progress iv got 20/20 for all the other nations and I only need 5 more Russian ships so its been some what easier than I expected. The only other mission I have is the Torpedo hits and iv only got 45 of those to get.

Thing is it was classed as a Heavy Cruiser is the 1940s and the British called them "Pocket Battleships" but seeing as we already have the "Scharnhorst" as a T7 BB I would expect them to put the "Graf Spee" as a T6 Heavy cruiser to make her a more unique Premium in a nation that already has 3 BBs in the line up.

    Takao mission - Q&A

    Well after 1 week iv got 3 missions left, Torpedo hits, 50 wins, Ships sunk I've got 90 of 200 torpedo hits in a single week easier than I thought it might be. Thanks to the "Takao" mission change iv now only got 25 wins left to get. However as others have pointed out the real difficult mission seems to be "Nachi" I'm currently sat on: 17 Japanese 18 U.S 13 German 6 Russian The problem is any Russian ship gets focused because of this mission there fore people are less likely to take them out in the 1st place (I know I'm not taking out my Kutuzov while this mission is running) so you get less and less Russian ships being played which means you focus the ones that are harder and it just creates a very negative experience for everyone.

    Kamikaze R

    I Wouldn't call the Kamikaze anymore OP than the Minekaze the single biggest advantage the Kamikaze has it can be used with high skill point captians but you can still get that if your dedecated to playing the Minekaze too. The differences between the 2 may only be minor but Iv found these minor changes to be of quite a practical benefit to the Kamikaze you sacrifice a bit of top end speed for slightly better torp angles and you have 3 guns facing forward which iv found to be very useful so much so that iv now become confident enough to engage other DDs and even cruisers in guns fights. Also as a side note about the Leningrad seeing as some brought it up if you use the Extended tech tree mod and look at its model you will see it has 3 very big draw backs, 2 turrets have restricted firing arcs due to AA gun placement and a 3rd being restricted because its placed between the Bridge tower and the smoke stack so it looks as tho you will have to sail very angled or full broadside to get the most out of its 5 gun setup..

    Getting a Campbeltown for free

    It might only be a low tier Destroyer but a free premium ship is still a free premium and you get a 12 point Captain to boot so what is there to dislike and to be honest the mission's to earn it are not exactly hard, maybe earning the 50k base XP is probably the most challenging of the 3 but you do get a whole month to complete them.

I got "King of the Party" when I had 8/10 of the birthday achievements done (with King of the party and Life + Soul being the missing 2) in a Hatsuharu game where I got 2 Devastating strikes and High Caliber awards so maybe its just linked to earning achievements in general birthday or normal ones any combination ?.

    Atlanta

    Now I'm guessing its down to how I've chosen to set mine up but I don't find the Atlanta that bad, it shares the same captain with my Cleveland and both ships and captain are setup for max AA. I had a great game on Two Brothers with 2 CVs by hanging back and providing AA protection to both CV's (pre DF for CV's I might add) I was able to shoot down 31 planes I was also one of the last ships alive and was able to sink 3 and finish with 90k+ damage done was rather happy with my work. I would definitely say its a play style ship that either works for you or it doesn't I see far to many players being the 1st or 2nd ship spotted and/or being far too aggressive and getting sunk early on in games if an Atlanta can stay alive in too late game its a brilliant ship for picking off battle worn enemy ships (aka low hp) it also makes for a great DD hunter.
  13. Played 9 ranked games today only won 4, the really frustrating part I finished 2nd in XP in all but 2 of those games. Came 1st in a defeat and 2nd from bottom in the other but that was more the fact our team played so well and we all had good XP we won 7-0 So far iv found this to be super frustrating as a good number of players doing ranked at these early levels don't seem to be able to grasp the concept that this game mode while random is way more team dependent than random battles and you cant just play it like its another random battle. Might also be down to the fact that I chose to play 6 of those 9 in a DD (Kamikaze) and while I have played my DD well just can never do enough with a bad team.

    0.5.7 patch PT

    Have to say I'm not a fan of the "Cyclone" system the fact "North" is the only map that currently has it works for me but with these other maps I hope its only a small chance of it happening because if it happens to often I really don't think it will help me enjoy battles on these maps anymore.

    Adressing Great Naval Battles Event Feedback

    Well all in all I liked the GNB event. That said, the play 500 battles mission was a very high mark given the time sink (no pun intended) that WoWs is given the longer average battle time it could have been set a bit lower to be doable by the committed but not an absolute grind that it encourages battle farming (aka bot/ bot like behavior) The lack of clear communication as pointed out in the OP also salted (again no pun intended ) the experience. Now the big one the 12 million target was the ultimate troll by making it "Its a secret" totally made it out to be more than it was and WG EU totally dropped the ball by underestimating the community in regards with this target, Now I wasn't expect anything big as a prize but I was expecting more than "10 Camouflages" very disappointing and totally anticlimactic. The GNBs event had improvements from Project R so I'm sure any future events will (should) have improvements learned from GNBs just be clear on the information of the event details and either make an end goal prize known upfront or a secret prize worthy of the target.

Well I have to say those missions are a bit too easy, they are about on par with our weekly missions (of which we had 4 sets) + the permanent missions but having the grand prize much like the project R event known upfront is good in a way that everyone knows what they are working towards that said I have nothing against secret prizes I just think that said prize needs to be worthy of the effort required to get there, now I'm not saying I expect a premium ship like Project R but also hitting 12 million in GNBs was also no small feat in which WG EU totally underestimated the community with a quite frankly insulting 10 GNBs camouflages as a reward. GNB had improvements from project R and I'm sure any future event will have improvement learned from GNBs they just need to be upfront on the details and if they make a secret prize make it worth the effort of hitting the target in the 1st place.

    Engine incapacitation on near misses

    I notice this happening a lot when playing the Murmansk rather annoying not even needing to be hit for the engine to get taken out.
  19. Well I'm 136 battles short of hitting the 500 mission and I really not all that bothered sure getting the extra 100 GNB camos would be nice but its not the end of the world iv already got what I wanted out of this event so I'm really not straining my self to get these battles done.

    New Arpeggio Missions tomorrow 1st June

    Well considering what missions we had last time these are P-easy to do, I aim to do a million points of damage a day anyway and unless you have terrible aim its very easy to rack up the hits in DDs and cruisers very quickly. I do agree with others getting another Kongo and Myoko is a tad disappointing but not totally unexpected either seeing as I use that tech tree mod iv seen those 2 ships there for a while so so it was only a matter of time b4 we got the missions for them.hopefully at some point we get some different ships.

Ok so we have a little less than 1.8 Million (at time of posting) diamonds still to get and only 9 days in which to do it, at this rate im not convinced we will hit 12 mill in time tbh which is a little disappointing to get this close. Only mission I have left is the 500 battle but iv just hit 300 so 200 games in 9 days 20 games a day is a tall order not sure I can or want to commit that amount of time to WoWs each day.
