    Flint or Pommern for Co-op?

    Flint will absolutely not be efficient in coop, it's made to deal damage over time, it's squishy, all the opposite of what you want to rush bots, I would not take this ship. Pommern you can just go full speed straight, launch torps left and right, citadel a couple bb/ca while yours is protected by turtleback and blast secondaries everywhere, it is much more suited I think.

    Why are you saying secondaries builds are dead ? germans base accuracy was buffed so compared to 0.9.12 the dispersion reduction is -50% instead of -60% with full build, that is the only nerf (it's nowhere as bad as the test server with only the -35% skill). On the buff side, range increase for T9 and T10, both sides can shoot, and cheap IFHE build so the 105mms can pen 32. The french and IJN derp secondaries builds are dead, not germans / american premiums. You can still get Pommern if you like it, why not ? The real issue at the moment is the mega campy playstyle because everyone wants to try dead-eye, wait a couple weeks so it all settles down and you can decide if the secondaries are usable again. If not, just slap range mod and dead-eye on it as well

    If you have 300 ships you should use the reset-all button and re-spec the first time you play each ship, but only play maybe a dozen of them for 1 month to gather info on the best builds. I changed my mind, I will try deadeye on Iowa with range mod
  6. See the skills yes, reset/change them no. if you have a suitable premium/special ship you can use it to access the skills.

    I was thinking, if the skill was changed to a permanent 5% bonus, people would not have to camp so far back to get it activated, so it would harm the gameplay less ? would still favor long range sniping but with less incentive to stay back ?

    I feel the biggest issue is not the skill itself, but how it makes people play trying to get the bonus. I can live without dead-eye, I favor fire prevention, concealment, extra heal, over a situational 10% dispersion buff. Maybe I'm wrong. I won't take this skill, I don't have enough captain points to spare.
  9. If getting the kill gave too much reward, everybody would hold fire to get the last hit... actually it gives 25% of the damage in credits earnings and 10% of the damage for XP earnings.     1) do you know how AP shells work ? If you haven't, please read the wiki https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Gunnery_%26_Armor_Penetration You need to understand the ricochet angles and overmatch mechanics, and also arming threshold and fuse time. This is the key to success with AP shells. Otherwise, you can shoot at angled belt all day and do absolutely no damage, even on a cruiser with 27mm plating as you don't overmatch that with 380mm guns. A simple rule to follow would be : if a ship is angled and the vector angle between your guns and the plating is less than ~45°, don't shoot the belt if you can't overmatch (in your case, you can overmatch up to 25mm of armor so up to light cruisers, but not heavy cruisers or BBs). between 45 and 30° you have a chance to ricochet, less than 30° the ricochet is automatic. Some ships have improved pen angles and can hit at 30° or less. regarding overpens, I don't know exactly the arming threshold for Vanguard, but you don't have short fuse and low threshold like hood or duke of york, so to deal pen damage you have to hit the thick part of the belt on cruisers and not the 25/27mm part. (even that doesn't guarantee it won't overpen at short range). 2) if you park next to an island and restrain your aim to only a portion of the map, hoping someone will pass in front of you, you have little positive influence on the match. you can't catch a broadside on another flank, you can't defend, you can't push. Sometimes you can do that when the situation requires it, but you have to look at the minimap and change your plans accordingly.
  11. Graf Spee guns are not the same as Scharnhorst, the AP penetration is much lower but the dispersion is a bit better.

I was also considering getting AR before CQC and taking only one 4pointer until I reach 17pts, as soon as you reach mid-health the bonus is equivalent and gets better at low health, and it applies also outside of secondaries ranges, and on AA, so it is more all-rounder I think ? AR has always been very powerful, it's hard to leave it aside for a situational buff in secondaries range edit : lol we actually can pick very different builds like WG wanted, because they split the perks into more skills so we can't have everything at once anymore edit : Flamu tried this build on stream, I would take EM instead of PT and heal instead of concealement, and that would be a strong build with lower accuracy.

I can't decide with 14 points, have to pick 2 skills between buffed reload in sec range, -35% dispersion, fire prevention, or +1 heal (dont forget +10% heal duration as well, adds up on 5 heals). Massa can go through 5 heals almost every game, losing that ability for secondaries memes is questionable. tanky build would be FP + heal meme build -35% + reload or a mix of the above, add AR with 17 points... I think I'll try all setups to decide whats best. edit : I played the Massa without FP before this update, double superstructure fires did not happen that often honestly, still I would like to take it.

    Yeah I try to use islands at my advantage, but probably the biggest mistake I make is focusing too much on BBs and not enough on smaller targets that don't have a heal... and that applies to pretty much all the ships I play. For some reasons losing gets you more losing and I can't stop lol. Maybe I should try playing in div so they can tell me to stop doing stupid moves

    @ColonelPete It makes sense, a bit of damage in the right spot has more impact than a lot of damage on a "useless" target, but doing 2 or 3x my healthpool in damage while being low tier should have some impact as well... I find it very difficult with this ship as it is absolute overmatch-food in the usual T7-8-9 MM so I play more safely, I will try to play differently tomorrow, even if it gets me killed sooner maybe it is a better contribution idk.

    I understand very well the frustration, today I played 10 games = 8 defeats, and I tend to have disastrous days like this lately. Lost 2 games in kidd and sims that should not have been lost, we were dominating, I was very angry. There are ships that have a low direct impact on a game, like this fkin shchors I'm trying to play without IFHE that relies on fire damage over time, I have a 31% winrate in this ship over 32 games but 1600+ PR that makes no sense at all.

    The task to get 45 BB citadels or fires was quite easy in coop with Thunderer and secondaries BBs, but it's not very interesting to farm... I have to grind credits now.

    It is not weaker than other T8 CLs, and the DPM + agility are very good (you can farm BBs bow and stern with IFHE). It has 27mm deck and 25mm sides like russian cruisers, but doesn't have 27mm sides like the baltimore / hipper / mogami indeed. It is still better than Edinburgh ! Adding a repair would be OP compared to the others as it can farm behind islands with the high shells arcs. The seatle has a heal, but faces stronger opponents.
  22. yesterday night I did a very nice double torping with Gneisenau, turning a 5vs9 to a win should have aimed at superstructure for the 2nd shot tho

    Why would you ever want to do this ? stats can be hidden if this is the matter. losing the commanders and all the ships you spent hours grinding ? it's not worth it.
