    Critical Errors are plaguing me

    Do you use any mods ? I had many crashes in january, apparently caused by the Badobest live icons that show ship HP on team side bars, from official modstation. 0 crashes after I removed it. Installed again to check : CRASH !
  3. I settled on what build to use for my captains so I will reset only those I don't use. I don't have many lines, and won't take deadeye on US bbs so I don't fear a nerf.

I rarely report as I prefer giving compliments, and don't play much operations too, but this afternoon we lost by time-out because everybody chased after bots while I was alone in the circle and pinging like mad in hope they would come as well. Lost, complete waste of 20 minutes for 350 xp, that made me angry. Would have reported them 1000 times if that was possible
  5. If you do that, after some time you would be back to the same proportion of over and under average players, so you split again and keep 1/4 of the playerbase ? Then after some time, you know... is that a new kind of battle royale ?
  6. Have you tried the Colbert test at 13.8 km ? same setup, one stock firing at max range, one upgraded firing at that same range, and compare the resulting ellipse. This would provide a 2nd point of comparison and pretty much confirm or invalid the theory. That would be a very disappointing mechanic if true range upgrades should impact max elevation and nothing else. the max range is achieved by firing at 45°, but most ships do not go that far to reach base in-game range, that leaves margin for range upgrades.

  9. I did reset all and specced only the ones I'm playing, I might reset again BB captains to see what happens with deadeye and secondaries, but I'm set on cruisers / dds / cvs builds so I won't reset those.

    7 due to a mod after 10.0 (from modstation), for some reason I can't use anymore the side panels that show hp for each ship, I get a crash after 20 mins

    FP or Extra Heal

    I went with FP. But on Massa and Georgia I would really like to have that extra heal, the 40s cool down is very strong and allows you to use sometimes half a heal to stay in the green when you have 1 minute to spare... can't afford to do that with 1 less heal. I will probably take both with 18 pts and give up reload or accuracy buff on these 2 specific ships. On others, i rarely use 5 heals anyway.

    Same goes for ship speed, they cover distance much faster than the indicated speed should allow. Everything is accelerated to make the game more dynamic to play and distances are artificially increased. It would be unplayable with 25s shell travel time What I meant is you can look at the shell travel time chart and that tells you if the velocity is relatively constant or if it drops rapidly by looking at how linear or progressive it is. I find it more representative of in-game behavior, something you can relate to more easily than a velocity curve. But both information are interesting, as is playing with shell mass and air drag in the tool to see how much they impact the charts.

    The velocity is not of direct interest to compare performance, but travel time and penetration values are, so I assumed that is what he really wanted behind the question, but you are right it does not show impact velocity. Anyway travel time evolution is similar to velocity, you can locally estimate the velocity by dividing distance/time on a short period doesn't directly help OP though, sorry

    Too Much HE Penetration?

    You won't gain anything by having 111mm pen instead of 89. Look at ships armor plating, how often do you see something between those 2 values ? the next step is too far, maybe 127 or 152mm to pen cruisers citadel, and you want the fire chance anyway so don't take IFHE. You already pen more than 80mm so you can damage heavy armored decks of german BBs. HE does not overpen, it gains no benefit of having more pen than the plate thickness as it detonates on impact, it won't do more damage. The only case where you might want IFHE is on german BBs to allow the 105mm secondaries to pen 32 instead of 26mm, and even that is questionable due to the fire chance reduction.

  20. I tried it, 1 coop game. The SAP is really strong on cruisers, it does more damage than HE and doesn't over-penetrate like AP, but on other T4 BBs it's quite useless as these (pre)dreadnaught designs usually have more than 79mm armor on the belt and superstructures are small.

    Well I installed the tech tree mod in ModStation, and it's GREAT, I suggest you try it too. You see ALL the ships even those that aren't in armory anymore, and the ones "coming soon".

    For precise stats yes, but for armor layout visualisation it was useful, or just a quick check about something without having to alt+tab and browse for info, it was already there ! I guess I'll try the tech tree mod that shows all the missing ships.

    Yeah I noticed it as well and asked in the general feedback thread why they removed it. I liked to go look at ships in the armory, now it's useless !

    Since this update, when previewing an armory ship in port, we don't see the ship stats and armor layout anymore ! only the ship model. That is really missing, it's the only way to access some ships stats and armor before buying, or to know them better. Previously we could see all stats for the steel / coal/ doubloons section ships, but not for the €-section (why ?). Now the only way to see ships stats is in the techtree, where most ships are missing anyway. exemple : if you go in the armory and pick Mainz, click "view in port", you only see the 3D model without stats and armor. If you go in techtree and pick Mainz, view in port, you see all the information and armor layout. Is this a voluntary change ?

    I always played without it, now with free re-spec I'm trying PT, and OK in some cases it gives valuable info : you are spotted but no one targets you ? keep doing what you want. 1 targets you and shoots ? angle against him but don't worry too much about the others (mistake alert here, that situation can change in a second). 6 target you ? better go dark for a while. I might actually use it now on certain cruisers, maybe on gunboat DDs if I ever get one, but I won't use it on BBs, you spend too much time spotted and looking everywhere between shots anyway. Do you have other exemples of what you use PT for ? what makes it valuable for you ?
