Zao - New class cruiser : Featherweight cruiser
LeSnoet replied to satoca1's topic in General Discussion
hell yeah. with its concealment you can engage and back off easy. even for tier X 17.5km is a very good range. -

The Legendary module is quite nice; 8% more range, -7% max. dispersion and -20% to rudder shift. Reload is still on the slow side, but the Zao has 12 rifles to fire, so you can compensate that (besides the high alpha and fire % chance) -

Hahaha. No. Zao is very good and don't broadside. -
Brings back memories of Navyfield....

Shimakaze Enhanced Upgrades .............. very disappointing
LeSnoet replied to TheRonson's topic in General Discussion
I unlocked it, but didn't fitted it yet. I am in doubt about it, because you give up your ruddershift. And that is something a Khaba relies on a lot. The extra range is somehow meh, because at those ranges the shells start to float a lot. -
Yeah I already met the receiving end of the rifles from the Republique

I am having the some problem with Hindi. A couple of months ago it felt a lot stronger and I know you can overextend very easily if pushed too hard. However lately, every AP shell which is coming my direction is dealing massive damage. No matter what range. I am aware of the lolpen's from the Yama's, but from you could deflect some BB AP (especially from range) I also play other tier X CA/CL's (except the Henri, getting there) so I am quite aware of each nation's weaknesses and its strong points. The Hindi used to be a decent all-rounder, not good in one particular job, but for randoms a nice package to compete the reds with.

Fyi, when I play a DD (or the Khaba) the most ships I fear, are the RN CL's. With their insane rate of fire and AP damage it will chew you up. And I will leave you with this:
-
Leander and the Fiji are two of the most powerful CL's, especially for their tier. And I am not even mentioning the Minotaur... AP from the RN CL's is incredibly powerful (did I already mentioned torps?) And the Conqueror dies very fast when focused, even with its zombie heal. Sniping BB's are not a problem. The lack of teamplay, especially in randoms, however is.
-
Don't hunt Hindenburgs (their HE shells will seriously f*ck you up) and Zao's. Other CA's, just click away
-
With the Khaba it is difficult to carry (not impossible though) and your depending on your teammates as well. It is possible to hold off an entire flank on your own. What @nambr9 states is correct. Maybe check this topic for some tips?

Give my Khaba radar!

My Khaba would approve

a loss though

What am I looking at? 62 battles? What are you implying? I really think WG did something really stupid to piss off the playerbase by nerfing the silver ship (which was a joy to play, finally a ship at tier 9 which is fun to play) and bringing in the Bart. Hello Paypal.
-
If played right, you can hold an entire flank on your own. But the Khaba really needs room to maneuver and use its speed. Keep on
-
13.5km is decent enough. I engage targets at 10km, turn away and try to get all four turrets onto the targets. Khaba relies on dpm and speed. You are actually a vessel that tries to attract as many of reds on to you. The most useful module on the Khaba is the module which enhances your speedboost. Khaba is all about opportunistic gameplay

Separate Tier 10 from other tiers in battle.
LeSnoet replied to Anthoniusii's topic in General Discussion
Quote: I made a year -in time- experiment. In 100 battles my tier 8 Battleships had 96 battles against ONLY tier 10 ships in a ration of 2 tier 8 ships per team and the rest tier 10. 0.27 had 1 too many this afternoon... -

Still only 100 battles in a year time, that makes 3,65 RANDOM battles a day. Not sufficient enough for statistics (besides as stated before, there is a separate thread for). However, I endorse the idea of Tier X MM only. Maybe with tier 9 mixed (hey got to sealclub sometimes in my Alsace or Fletcher) -

100 battles in 1 year? I hardly call that a useful statistic. However, a tier X-only MM is something worth considering. With the combination of skill-based MM of course! -
I try to time it, when using radar. I only hit it when there is enough support near or in the cap (provided if the map is in domination mode). With the slot 2 module you can make it work, or at least to piss off destroyers or anything else in smoke. But smart DD players (there are not a lot of them, see the average forum rant in 'gameplay' about radar and the whining about it) tend to stay either out of radar range or wait until it dies off. Radar on RU vessels are also overrated imo, it works only for a very short time.

I am using radar on the Des Moines. I really hate shooting with a spotter plane. Therefore I am not taking everything from Yuro for granted But what he says about using the superior dpm of the Des Moines is true, and that hugging an island bowfront is not really contributing. Since I have adopted more or less that tactic my average damage is much higher. But hé, everyone is free to play it the way they like. Back to the Wooster, after a couple of more games I am starting to get the hang of it. But you do need good map awareness (read the battle) like you said. Overextending will be punished hard.

I freexp'ed past the Seattle. It was not the gunrange, but more the layout of the guns and the handling of this vessel, that discouraged me to play it. Now I am with the Worchester, I am not so sure if this is a keeper. This vessel is definitely not OP, it is very situational. Meaning, hanging behind an island and hoping for anything to come in range. Sure, it has is nice AA, hydro and radar. But that makes it a utility vessel instead of a high damage dealer (which you kinda need on tier X). Also TTK is very high. But maybe I should give it more time. The Des Moines is still the better vessel on the USN cruiserbranche. Especially if you kite and make smart use of cover. And I am not talking about camping behind a rock (see Yuro's latest vid; )

Because the other tier 3 skills, besides AFT, are more useful to spend your points on. PT, PM, AR, LS (maybe swap this one for EM), BFT, SI, DE and of course AFT. Stacking fires are more reliable then IFHE, also with the insane reload (remember to hold down that lmb the whole match)
