Suggestions for more sensible planes (not about gameplay, about accuracy/credibility of models and roles)
typhaon replied to Orlunu's topic in General Discussion
I don't know much about realism of planes on WW2 carriers and ships, but I appreciate your effort. +1 -
And once you reach T10... what do you do then? Quit the game because you've beat it? The whole game is about the grind right now, now end game content (yet). And if you have played other WG games you could have known, that they would increase the grind. I still think that you progress rather good. And for gods sake: never ever convert XP for gold... it's the best way to waste valuable gold, better invest it in premium account time or premium ships which you can keep forever.

Watch closing DDs. You can see the splash from launching torps... once they fired, just turn.

do you still get xp and coin when you leave after dying?
typhaon replied to TheDeathCrafter's topic in General Discussion
If you leave after being sunk, you get the rewards after the battle has ended. The used ship is locked until the end of the battle and you can just jump into a fight with another one. If you leave before you are sunk, you get a penalty.- 3 replies

First picture shows indeed guns, that are not used in the game. From the looks it seems those are low caliber close quarter guns... maybe too small to be of any effect in the game. The second picture shows some of the AA Hotchkiss guns... the second hull has 8 of those and they work.

Why would I sail the South carolina instead of the Kawachi?
typhaon replied to Dai2's topic in General Discussion
It has a little more range and leads to the Wyoming... that's the advantages. -

Yeah, shooting down planes is definately not rewarded enough... they should either increase XP or at least credits... some might remember Navyfield where shooting down planes might not have given the best XP, but very good amount of credits.

Actually the damage system in WoWS is rather detailled, much unlike WoT for example. It's not enough to penetrate the target's armor, it also matters how deep the shell penetrates and if it hits vital areas inside the ship. Unfortunately there is no detailled information about it, just rough explanations from the devs. But from my experience, it's mostly better to use AP if you know that you will penetrate and have some skill and of course luck for hitting the right parts. I mainly use AP against anything except DDs and CVs... DDs because of over penetration and CVs because fire prevents them from launching or landing planes. When running cruisers it depends on wether I can penetrate the enemy or not... higher tier BBs can be quite tough to penetrate unless you hit the soft deck at a good angle... so HE helps you to do at least some damage, possibly with fire. But I cannot see the 1000 dmg problem with AP... a good salvo from a BB can easily deal 5000-9000 damage even without alot of hits or a citadel hit. I definately have the feeling that at least high caliber AP shells do more than 1000 damage most of the time... but that's only my personal impression, no test done.

And it says that those 10,000 dubloons are only part of the 0.4.0 public test which is long over...

Guns that serve as dual purpose weapons are not animated when used for AA. Pure AA guns turn towards enemy planes and play generic fire animation. You might only occasionally see a shell fly towards enemy planes from DP guns, but they won't aim at them. AA is rather simple anyways, it doesn't matter what's animated, it doesn't even matter, if a gun could possibly turn to fight off incoming planes... it's just a matter of DPS at a certain range.

Well that's how it is... CVs are powerful if they can use the mistakes of others... Good teamwork can really mess up CVs.

We already have such a "lovely" community.
typhaon replied to Remi_Drexel's topic in General Discussion
Every game with PvP that I know has a harsh community... but you could have expected that, since a major part of the WoWS community comes from WoT... and I don't think I need to remind anyone of how it's there. -
Thats because you need to research the second Chikuma hull first, which is 700 XP... and 2100 XP for the Tenryu + 700 XP for the second hull is 2800 XP.

Stuck Between a Rock and a Hard Place
typhaon replied to The_Kreigsmarine's topic in General Discussion
Afaik, each WG office at the different continents works rather indipendently, that's why they won't trade virtual goods or have the same events. -
-
Use the range and speed... apart from that it doesn't offer much. Guns are pretty large for T5 cruisers, but aim slow as hell. I had much more fun with the Aoba, although it's almost the same ship with faster guns.
-
You both did something wrong in thinking that the OBT has already started... we're still at CBT.
-

Seriously where is my Premium time and Gold on WoT
typhaon replied to Dbars_eu's topic in General Discussion
This is the WoWS-Forums... just to remind you. If you are referring to the shared content: Right now WoT and WoWS only share the premium time... gold is seperate for both games. -
You need to research the range finder first which costs 180 XP iirc.

Loading times finally fixed? corse not. But its not all bad
typhaon replied to Armo1000's topic in General Discussion
It's a lot better for me... most if the time there's plenty of time left on the countdown when I join. -
Lächerliche ExP-Rate ohne Premium !? ( PvP )
typhaon replied to groundhouse2's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
