In my opinion it is not the prem ships that are OP. While they are better than their counterparts (most bright example being Atago>Mogami, when before the mogami was the better ship, she was hit by serious nerfs while the Atago got a heal and couple of buffs) I think it is their counterparts that are UP and therefore should be buffed in order to be fun to play.

Managed to sail with my kongo right into an ambush by 2 derpsky destroyers with their torps trained on me. Killed one of them with secondaries and rammed the other, taking only 1 torp in the process. My proudest moment.

And as we all know tier 4 and 5 CV captains are the epitome of skill... You find most of the skilled cv captains only on tier 8 and up. So as it is I think texas is still way better than a NY for your average player, because bad players will allways run into torps, aswell as any sealclubber who will wreck face with it.

Yeah because complete immunity to one of the classes that is your supposed counter is only negated by a minor mobility nerf... Next up, Omaha-class without a Citadel but with slightly worse rudder shift. Kappa.

Fitting, but the Germans did not name their battleships after castles. Also, about Hitler's opinion, If im correct, he never gave it when it comes to the H-class BBs, as they did not exist apart from a very early laid down H39 that got scrapped. So If we dont find a way to resurect him and personally ask him what he would like the ship to be named after, we can't really know. The reason im fine with Grossdeutchland (or whatever it is spelled) Is because it is a grand name for a grand ship. I mean if that ship was ever constructed, it would rival the Yamato-class in power and displacement, the Yamato herself being named after an ancient Japanese province.

Lutzow - Heavy cruiser. More easily sunk than most battleships. Considering there were bigger ships in the Kriegsmarine, it wouldn't be logical to name a mid-sized ship after the whole of Germany. H41 - Huge monster of a ship that if it was constructed, would have been as iconic and monstrous as the mighty Yamato. Even the loss of such a ship would have been unifiying and would have filled most germans with a burning desire for revenge. Like how the Brits got infuriated after the sinking of the Hood. I feel like this ship could be worthy bear the name Of Grossdeutchland, as it would have been the pride of every german sailor.

Another prem ship that is better than its normal version. WG disgusts me.

The Pensa, the Myoko, the Yorck, and the newcomer Shchors. The Mogami, NO, Hipper and the Chepayev. Basically heavy cruisers, as their respective upper tiers, they get the worst of both worlds of cruisers. Lacking the maneuverability and small profile of their lower-tier breathhren (Except for the Russian ones, they are basically all big and immovable, but I am honestly not that interested in them generally) , they also lack the survivability provided by the heal of their higher-tier classmates. And as I am generally in support of more survivable ships. (No ship should be able to lose half of its health due to RNG at the start of the game and just stay crippled, it is just not fun. ) I think cruisers of lower tiers need a repair button too. Tier 8 cruisers in particular, at least in team battles, are outshined both by atago, because it has heals, and by the MK, that has smoke, also a way of staying alive. This is especially unfair in the case of Mogami, which was nerfed recently and its 203mm configurations is basically an Atago without good torp arcs and heals. What is your oppinion? Do they statistically deserve it? Are they already powerfull or are they not?

The japanese take their navy rather seriously too, also being an island nation. Though not as much as they once did.

You would get that if it was Blizzard or any other sane company. But WG is Belarussian. And as we all know everything in eastern europe is fifty shades of fucked up.

The EU server is the one where the most profit comes from. Thus, you get Premiums on sale you can buy, not contests in which you can win a free prize...

As a player who had the Atago (pre-buff) on annother account (sold it since because it wasnt good, not compared to the Mogami at least) Its unique feature for me was allways the torpedo arcs (which no IJN cruiser after tier 5 has) . They gave it heals because it was underperforming compared to the mogami, but then ruined the mogami herself. Now the Mogami is just a bad Atago, having worse torp arcs, no heals, and probably worse armor aswell. (but not sure on the third one)

How about an USN DD Captain? :3 Sometimes I get so greedy I launch my torps so close that my target has spotted me even before the launch. And I get hits even with 55kn torps. Now imagine 76kn torps. and 5 more of them. My mouth gets wet.

Unicums in team battles are heavily outnumbered by morons that havent reached tier 6 even but still bought a tier 8 prem ship. But dont mind me, I've actually studied statistics and can legit tell you staring at a chart will not allways give you the objective picture. There are facets and nuances that one simply staring at the numbers (A bean counter) will allways miss. And this is where they fail most of the time. Not that I dont appreciate the easy targets and how they are supporting the game I like, mind you. And, if WG doesn't balance stuff based on team battles, how are they even claiming they want to expand the E-sports aspect if they balance the game for the casual playerbase?

Tier 7 cruisers can get pulled into a tier 9 game. And that is where they are useless, even with a theoretical heal.

Im speaking as a (Mainly) DD player: Are you joking me? You expect to get into 3km of an enemy cruiser and just pop smoke and survive? Thats not how it's done at all!!!

I have had games where Atago heals have made the difference between a win and a loss. (Kill the atago to win by points in the next 40 seconds, he is at only 1k HP, pops up a heal and finishes the battle with 4k HP, despite being hit by several shells. ) Atago is literally the only cruiser currently played in team battles along with the MK exactly because of the heal.

With prem consumable and superintendent BBs and hightier cruisers have 5. Maybe that is the point? You are wasting money and skillpoints after all.

Good point. But keep in mind they get other improvements over their lower-tier brothers, not only the heal.

Maybe tier 7s get 1 charge? (with the premium Atlanta getting smoke charges, cause come on, she needs buffs)

Billy, I dont think what you said is entirely true, though most of it is. One thing though: Sure you can mindlessly spam torps from 15km away, and sure you can fling enough shite at the wall and some of it will stick, but that is not a very effective strategy. The good shimakaze players risk it. The bad ones spam. And while the bad ones will quit playing the Shimakaze with the changes, the good ones will have a terrifying weapon at their disposal. 15 torpedoes going at 76 knots released from 8km distance in a tight spread is unavoidable for a BB. Thus ones being hit with such an unavoidable torp wall will whine even more with the new patch, since there will be only good Shima players left (terrifiying for me, since those players actually use their guns when chased by USN DDs and can in fact give them hell of a trouble) . THEN the numbers will rise.
