I actually like the mode. Once meta normalizes after the huge hit it got from German BB spammage, it will be better.

Dont know, if you envision the US cruisers they are shitty, yea, but that is not the fault of brit cruisers, that is a fault of shitty developpers not being able to balance jack. And here I envisage tier 8 cruisers that have average damage of tier 3 BBs. Other than that, I imagine US cruisers being a hard counter to a brit cruiser, especially late-tier. -

I think each of the cruiser lines we have now has a unique distinctiive playstyle an that can be done for brit cruisers too without gimmicking them up. -
I need more explanation. There are indeed games where all the RNG seems against you and vice versa, and they are not fun. But how can you combat this.

Give it time to normalize. German BBs were a big hit, but the novelty will pass.

And not too frustrating to play against as a battleship, cause tears will be shed if our BB overlords get hurt. /trollface IMO what they need to do is to capture the spirit of the nation's cruisers. Multipurpose support units with good long lasting radars. Single torp salvos wiĺl be good if the torps are good, and british torpedoes were the best if we dont count the japanese ones. So stealth torp capability would be nice. Mediocre HE and AP, no need to focus on one or the other. And nice accuracy. IMO they have gone too far in trying to give each new line a gimmick. Individual torpedo launch is a gimmick enough. -
Very singular approach to target selection. If you cant kill a specific target. Focus on its support units. They will run or die, enabling your support in turn to help you wreck the target.

Two people trying to be right on the internet is not an argument, its idiocy. From a well discussed argument both parties come out with new knowledge. Here we have two insane people spamming a thread by repeating the same uninteresting and off topic crapover and over again. -
Bold words to say when nobody has played nor reviewed the damn ships. WG actually manned up and admitted their mistake in design, and all people do is bashing. Seems easy to scream BB mafia, but smoke in abundance is not fun for anybody, even opposing smokeless cruisers.

When ih when will players realize that HE in itself is not an issue... Smoke is. Giving it to TOO many ships ruins the game. It is a nice gimmick for a DD to have but when a cruiser gets it it becomes a problem. Give brit cruisers long lasting radar that has less range, and also speed boost and repair at higher tiers that dont have a plane and give them back their HE albeit a bit crappy. With a low concealment and good arcs they would be gine enough. -
Well obviously planes will counter smoke walls. Its up to the enemy carrier to clear them or, if he is in strike setup, clear the ships instead.

And while we are on the theme of smoke and alternatives, can I also have an alternative to smoke on my USN DDs. AA fire is cool but you have to have the hull that has 1 less gun for it (and ironically, 25% less of the AA power that is affected by the AA consumable) and with the AA on DDs in general and the lack of viable AA builds on DDs, its useless. Hydro is cool but it would be too much of a counter to the sorry state of IJN DDs, rework or not I very rarely use smoke, and thats only when I screw up really badly or I need to smoke a carrier off-position. Most of the time I use my concealment to torp people and most of my games have 1 or 2 charges left on my smoke (and I dont have the premium smoke or the Superintendent perk)

A possible problem is that only having AP eliminates a LOT of the choices for captain skills. Fast ammo switch? Gone. Fire chance? Gone. Basically leaves Brit CLs with a forced AA choice for a tier 4 skill

For a supertester you are quite quick to jump to a conclusion wthout giving the idea a try. Guess we have to stay with the camp meta then.

CVs can drop a curtain with their fighters. Not with rhe ship itself. And it wotn result in camping. Quite the opposite. Teams will now be able to advance a bit through open water without being sniped to bits. This consumable idea is there so the high tiers are not slugfests from border to border, and team can advance without shitting their pants.

Some people like playing support. And some cruisers and DDs have the concealment to lay such screens out of harm's way. Carriers too. Also, this consumable would have shorter cooldown than smoke. Also, nothing stops the dd or cl in question to hide behind the curyain if they feel in danger.

So what you mean is that the meta is so oriented for single play that we might as well not bother totry to add something to channge that?

No singleDD will use his smoke for that when its on such cooldown and it can use it for either surviving or an ambush. As said in OP current smoke is too personal and selfish.
