  2. The ONLY way for this to work nicely is the following: -Those torps only impact BB -Not a gimmick. Every DD gets this. -No switch time. 4 modes when pressing the 3 button (torp button)narrow and wide spreads for both depths. Depths are shown visually by the torpedo arc color. Light blue as it is now, dark blue for deep. Still tho, shitty idea.
  3. Annnd back to my point. Lot better ways to shift the meta back to normal without introducing new gimmicks. And by gimmick I mean line-specific feature. Because that is what its going to be. Just like the british DD single torp thing. Even if not a gimmick it still has the risk of breaking something else. Remember the unstable building?
  4. I mean the opposite. that does not mean this change is good. Counter BB heavy meta at top tiers and you just replace it with a different kind. Next up is DD heavy meta.
  5. This has never been an issue and never will be. They, and by they i mean Sub Octavian, have specifically said they are looking to reduce BB numbers. This is their idea and it sucks major donkey!
  6. Here is where you are WRONG. Apples and oranges comparison. Torpedoes WERE supposed to be a BB counter. The skill in using them does not come from WHICH torps you use, it comes from WHERE and HOW (narrow or wide) you aim them! There is something seriously screwed up with game balance if WG wants to introduce ''BB counter torpedoes''
  7. IJN torps were not nerfed because they were too effective against cruisers and DDs. Even if they were that would compensate for their bad guns. In fact, in days of old i havent heard people that play CA or DD reporting this issue apart from the shima 20km torp walls which i agree was bad. Also, cruisers today have a trick or two more when evading torps now, like 1 more plane in the air.
  8. Will not happen is a poor reason again. Rolling back bad changes is good and has been proven to be well received, prime example being the removed radar from british BBs. I am not willing to see a change in the game which may screw up balance even more when other ways are more safe and sure to improve gameplay. After we improve the current situation, experiment with things all you want. I just want to have fun.
  9. Ah, but before the german BBs with sonar i clearly remember the meta (building) at tier 8 being way more stable. The cracks on the floor and walls have a cause. You can add more concrete, but those cracks will reappear. They may reappear later or in a different form, but they will. You remove the cause, promote a stable meta and THEN I allow you to add concrete. ''Not gonna happen'' is a poor reason and argument.
  10. I get your point I really do. You are excited about something new. But how should I explain it.... Game development is like building a house. You should only add a new mechanic or floor if the current foundation (or game balance) is solid. Keep adding mechanics haphazardly without solid balance and you get to collapse the building in the end.

  12. But it is. The problem here is that this is a totally needless change that is coined only because a ship class of a single line has a consumable it should not have. I stand by my point and insist on it. Wanna counter BB meta? Buff ijn torps and remove BBaby sonar. Give them improved TDS to compensate. Watch meta normalize.
  13. No. Fighting gimmicks with gimmicks is stupid. Not to mention that those torps would be useless. Wanna force DD out of a smoke? Shuks. No BBs on your flank? Dang.. Need I continue?
  14. This idea is bad. Another gimmick given as a treatment to a disease named Battleships with Sonar... Resolving balance issues caused by gimmicks with gimmicks is bad. Buff ijn torps and remove sonar from KM BBs and the meta will stabilize.

    This deep water torpedo business is bulshit. This is treating a symptom but not the disease. Also ijn DDs were meant to counter BBs as they are crap gunboats. Buff ijn torp concealnent and remove sonar from german BBs (you can buff their TDS if needed) Enough gimmicks. Id much rather this asian dd branch to not have smoke but rather radar or a strong sonar. A passive sonar which is always active could also work too.

    Lol. What narrow minded statement. I suggest you think next time My problem is that 12k HP is 3/4th of a hatekaze's total HP. The equivalent of a DD hitting at least 4 torps on a BB in this tier. So, which happens more often? DDs devastating BBs with torps as gamw balance intended, or BBs deleting DDs? This is not how it should work.

    Montana got my Harekaze for a 12k damage salvo from 1about 9km as I got phantom radared by an invisible ship...feelsbadman...

    For people who doubt that BB AP needs a nerf on DDs, get a gearing and watch how 2/3 of your HP goes poof each time a BB sneezes at you.

    Yea FdG is fine. 406 version at IX and slightly more beefed 420 version at tier X would have been fine. Kurfurst? Kurfurst? A 100k ton battleship dwarfing even the Yamato? With no port in the WORLD which could have handled this beast at the time? Conqueror may be a paper dream but it is at least feasible. Kurfurst is a Frankenstein's creation made to stroke wehraboos' severe megalomania..
