So did we. So what? I died 5mn into the game, from being crushed by the Midway without any chance to defend myself. Managed to land a torp on a cruiser, so only lost over 20k credits. What's the point of going into a fight that leaves you hopelessly outgunned?
-
The new CV MM is for CVs always face the same tiers... not this massacre.
-
First time this happened post patch. If there are no players for MM then remove me from queue. That Midway slaughtered my fighters while his bombers simply out ran them... and them nuked me down in 10 seconds. What's the point of going into a game like this?

Hia folks I need to clarify something: if I buy doubloons, can I use them as gold in World of Tanks? Are they acount-bound, or usable only in Ships?

Always loose air to air vs Lexington: doing something wrong?
Hammerbolt posted a topic in Aircraft Carriers
Hia folks I'm trying to understand a problem I'm having. I'm currently sailing in an Lexington, and, afaik, I have all the upgrades for air combat except "air supremacy". and yet, everytime I run into another Lexington, I loose almost every air-to-air fight, if it's 1 group v 1 group. My best guess is that I loose about 90% of the fights. I avoid fighting over enemy ships and I'm always carefull to make sure I actually click on the enemy group. I'm having to try to avoid every 1v1 cause I know I will loose it... Am I beging extremely unlucky or am I missing something? -

Congrats 0.4.1 killed the ranger completely
Hammerbolt replied to maestrod's topic in Aircraft Carriers
Yesterday a Ranger nuked mine with a full strike setup. He managed to sneak around the map while I was scouting for him... but the player did state that it's very hard to play like this. He said that it was pretty much a all-or-nothing setup: either nuke someone, or loose everything... -

Saw this today, and was uterly shocked. In 3 games vs Hiryu I managed to carry out a grand total of 5 intercepts on TBs or bombers. Every other time, my fighters were swamped by his fighter groups, while the bombers went merrily past me... "oo but you have better fighters". First of all, they are not that better, second, they can't help when they are fighting in such numeric inferiority. Now I have to keep my fighters in packs; I can no longer send out fighters as scouts; if I do they'll be swamped 2v1 or 3v1... -
... ... ... mind if I laugh latter? Too busy right now...

Hia folks In game, when you want to ID the model of a ship, all you have to do is hit ALT. But, if I want to ID the model of an aircraft, this doesn't work. I find this important, to guestimate the chances of, for example, a sucessfull interception. The whole thing becomes messier if there are carriers of multiple nations on the other side. Is there no way to do this?

Future British battleships and their Tiers
Hammerbolt replied to DaOrange's topic in General Discussion
Pretty much, really. The historical value alone makes it almost mandatory. Tier 4 - Colossus Tier 5 - Orion, KGV or Iron Duke Tier 6 - QE or Revenge Tier 7 - Nelson Also, forget the Hood. It was a WWI battlecruiser; it has no place in a BB vs BB figh, as it's sisters proved in Jutland. T5 premium... maybe. -
You are correct, saddly...
-
Model still matters. If you have, for example, F3F, you want to know if the opposition has Zeros or an older model... otherwise, you'll be chopped up...
-
I'm not refering to type (fighter, bomber, etc) but model (Zero, Hellcat, etc).

Battle time limit too short, constand draws
Hammerbolt replied to Hammerbolt's topic in General Discussion
Drat... didn't see anything -
Hia folks Am I alone in thinking that the max time for a battle is too short? Battles constantly end in a draw, simply because there isn't enough time. There simply isn't enough time, in many battles, to even try to make a battle plan that involves multiple ships; quite often, ships have to try to charge in alone, unsuported, because they can't wait for heavier team mates to help, or risk run out of time. BBs are often stuck with choosing one side of the battle, because they won't be able to shift sides: they won't have time. Yesterday, twice, I managed to score draws while running away from 6 enemies, simply by staying away long enough for time to run out. Hardly seems fair...

I must be a very rare guy. My results with TBs were usually bad (around 30% hits) but changing to DB increased my hit rate to about 80%. I might make less XP per hit (no idea), but I score a lot more hits...

So... carriers... Carriers have 2 jobs: sink enemy ships, provide air cover to friendlies. And this last job is one that quite a few carrier skppers seemed to be failing at. And by failing, I mean not doing it at all. A good example would be the last battle I've fought, There were 2 carriers per side; on our side, one carrier launched 1 fighter group, the other none. For the duration of the battle we never had more than one fighter group up. So the enemy bombers could pretty much go anywhere, and do whatever they liked... In many other games, I see fighters being launched and then staying glued to their carriers. This means that, not only they cover no one else, they will also, most likely, be too late to attack bombers coming for the carriers. People. this is not World of Tanks. Carriers are not simply artillery; they have to defend the fleet from enemy attack. If they don't, friendly ships get swamped with bombs and torps, and then your precious carrier will be alone. The first groups out must be the fighters. Send them out to seek enemies at first, then form a BARCAP. If you wait for the enemy, it will be too late. Stop thinking of carriers as some kind of giant mobile catapult; defend your fleet.

Hia Simple question: if I buy a premium ship in beta, will I still keep it, when the game goes live?
-
And why? Because the player deliberatly chose not to have them.
-
And why the hell would anyone have no fighters? That only shows a total disregard for the team.
