I've not played the 'merican ones but personally i'd go: 1. Atago, decent guns with good shells, repair, aa cooldown, good hp pool 2. Hipper, rubbish HE and poor AA but godlike AP, long range and excellent accuracy that punishes bad enemy cruisers. 3. Mogami, not quite as good as she once was but still a fearsome HE thrower, wish she could use the 20.3 without gimping herself. 4. New Orleans, excellent AA but pretty much everything else seems mediocre. No opinion on the new Soviet one yet. -

Welp, looks like everyone had the same idea. Matchmaker just stuck me against an enemy team with seven destroyers (we had three) It was surprisingly close. -
Murmansk, an Omaha on performance enhancing drugs?

The Murmansk might have some different perks over the Omaha like better torpedoes and whatnot but the guns are the same, sounds like you just got citadelled to death, compared to the St. Louis the Phoenix has a hugely vulnerable citadel and in general is nowhere near as armoured. -
I just dont understand how to play tier 8+

I'm pretty sure I was the Yamato in this game, I have a screenshot from it, the matchmaker was a bit iffy on it with the balance. That said, tier eight cruisers aren't useless in high tier games and the Mogami at least has the range to work well-ish, towards the end of the game I had taken over 100,000 damage from the enemy team and quite a bit of it was from fires set by cruisers, 38 hits without anything significant is fairly poor though, I'd expect to have been set on fire from it, I spend a good portion of my time in the Yamato as a burning pyre. The Mogami could do with her 20.3 guns being buffed to be a viable choice though, the recent HE changes have made the 155mm not great at taking out high tier battleships. -

Might well be the best bundle I've ever seen WG do, I hope this is a sign of what future ones will be like, although I expect the Tirpitz to cost a fortune as not only is it a giant cash cow it's also going to break the matchmaker for a while (again). For this price i'm certainly tempted. -
Games can also end if one side goes under zero points from losing too many ships.

It's surprisingly easy to lead targets in this game with the majority of guns, made even easier by the fact that a good half of the player base considers evasion tactics to be wishing really hard that the shells miss. Hitting targets that evade without firing a wide spread is quite hard at long range and it's even harder to hit anywhere specific, the mod also doesn't work against these as it can only predict targets on a constant bearing. That said I'm utterly against putting the aim mod into the base game, I think the only thing it would do is make the game worse. I do think WG should be more active on disabling the mods though, I'd rather they didn't work at all as there IS at least one working aim mod out there currently.

Annoying heavy damage sound

Agreed, some sounds make mine extremely noticeable, I'm lucky this isn't one of them but I can see it being incredibly annoying for those it does. -
Possibly, I like the ship but there are far more Royal Navy ships that interest me more.

You could also just try playing the ships you like, you don't have to grind. Sure it's a goal but it's not the only thing, I still have plenty of ships from the early tiers in my port. Also tier five is probably one of the more action packed tiers to be honest, it's about when everyone usually starts realising their role and has had a bit of practice, sure you get some people sitting at max range sniping but it's not a very effective way to play.

They could have at least rounded the damn numbers up when they decided to randomly simplify speeds. I don't think i've ever seen a complaint that the points after the numbers were confusing, it's just a bit unneeded.

If a battleship evades all but one torpedo from a Midway then the Midway messed the drop up.

You are paying for your ships repair and ammo resupply, 100k to fix the hull + more for ammo/camoflage/non basic consumables. It's not a bug, tier eight and above are supposed to have a bit of a cost to them, it only gets higher as you go up the tiers. A tier ten will cost you about 300k just to fix the hull for example.

What the, the non balance changes are nice but that AA consumable one is silly and is just going to lessen cruiser efficiency in long games. I'm sure I'll eventually get used to most, I hope they reconsider a little. Some more German cruisers could use a look too though I assume they are waiting for more stats. edit: removed incorrect stuff

I'd rather have had the Kamikaze, I like the event they introduced it with on the NA but I don't like the camouflage on this ship. Also another overpriced bundle, if there's a ship I'm really interested in I'm not 100% against buying a bundle but for this? it's stupidly expensive for what it is.

The poll was for the Akatsuki, the Akatsuki are just a sort of beefed up Fubuki with a bit more speed and a few other things. The Akuzuki are the AA ones.

I'm not the hugest destroyer player but that sounds like pretty much all of the ones I have played. It's not uncommon in my Fubuki to finish every game with one or no turrets remaining.

You can be in the thick of it without being at the back and still do plenty of damage. Rushing to death isn't an answer for not getting no xp. Battleship xp earning is fine unless you get yourself obliterated.

It's be nice to have an ingame option to turn them off too, I can mute them for myself with the mod but I imagine other people will hear them I hit them because my damn screenshot key for example is on one of the F keys. -
Tirpitz - a bad joke / Border grinding - a pain in the A.

True, the Tirpitz is very hard to citadel hit at close range but that's because it's what the armour was designed for, if you want to citadel it then try plunging fire, it has abysmal deck Armour. On top of this the Tirpitz has fairly poor armour overall and you should almost always get the penetration damage, it's the only ship where I've seen 20k + volleys without a citadel hit with any regularity. Another thing to add is that the Tirpitz guns really aren't that accurate at long range, they're in between the North Carolina and the Amagi if I remember rightly. Your guns also do more damage per shot due to the larger caliber, you would certainly have issues if you started firing HE at them instead though, he can citadel you and if you slice of almost all of your firepower doing that you're essentially handing him a free kill. I won't comment on the border hugging thing that much as It's entirely player based but I will say that I haven't seen that many more Tirpitz players doing it compared to other ship types, in fact what I most often see them doing is staying back at max range trying to plink away at people and losing games for it. Just in case you feel like checking, I own a Tirpitz but I also had an Amagi and I found that ship more than capable of dealing with them. -
The Myoko has a fairly large citadel, any tier eight battleship hitting you with AP in it will kill you, if anything it's better to be shot at by a Tirpitz in that regard because it has less guns and the ap shells do a tiny bit less damage. Tirpitz isn't even that accurate, it has fair shell velocity but the dispersion isn't great.

The few that do are also the slowest torpedoes in the game and rather easy to dodge.

My fighters in the Taiho feel a tiny bit eh, if they'd fix barrage so that it didn't turn any squad that gets partially interrupted into a lemon then maybe i'd feel better, it's horrendously random, sometimes it does plenty but most of the time it does bugger all. They could also do with a tiny bit more ability to adjust attack runs, not by much and not back to the old UFO levels but a few more degrees would be nice. -
why is my max range 10 km on all ships ?

Range is dependant on ship and ship upgrades, the tier four battleships have poor range until upgraded. To improve your range try getting the fire control upgrades, certain ships also gain range with the upgraded hull. -
It's because the Myoko used to be tier eight and the Mogami was the tier seven. When they switched them the only thing they bothered doing was switching their torpedo tubes round as far as I know, WG never bothered changing the stats that much when they switched them.
