Seen the Yashima and Ägir on the official WoWs stream yesterday, and both looked pretty "eh" tbh. If they don't give the Yashima something special which differentiates her from the Yamato, she will be a pretty niche ship. The idea of a brawling cruiser is so hilarious that it baffles me they would even think of making one with the Siegfried hull. Ägir looks like a Kronstadt with worse guns (just compare the penetration) and no Radar - yay.

Had a match in which the enemy had 2 Smolensk, and we had 2 Balancegrads - let's say there weren't many happy campers on the enemy team :D

While I usually don't defend them - and i do think 2m is a bit on the steep side - i don't think it is too bad. If you play a lot on 200% exp events, it's rather easy to grind quite a lot of FXP provided you got some camos and flags. I think i bought the Alaska for FXP sometime in December and am back to ~850k FEXP now (while i used probably 50-60k for some modules). Yes it will take a while, but on the other hand it is a T10 ship and you can accelerate the grind (which you basicly can't for Coal or Steel ships) by playing a lot. Is it casual-friendly? Definitely not, but i don't think FXP and Armory Ships are supposed to be casual-friendly in the first place.

If slingshotting is the only way for CVs to work, the rework was probably a failure - so yeah, let's try it and see how it will play out.

There is a reason you see a lot of streamers zooming out when doing close-range shots. For some reason being zoomed in fks up the aiming of the guns.

If the upcoming Soviet Cruiser line really gets that short-fuse AP, a lot of Smolensk owners will probably not be as happy as they are now :D I'm currently in the same situation as OP, but i'm tending more towards the Thunderer. I don't particularly like spammy ships, and a BB with Battlercruiser dispersion sounds pretty juicy to me.

I'd like to say anything uplifting but, you gotta get used to that because it won't change anytime soon i'm afraid.

The thing is, there is a lot more of those 42% players than 60+% players - so WG decides to balance the game for the masses, not for the people who actually know what they are doing. I bet that if there was a player-wide survey (i.e. every single active player would get asked), CVs would probably not top the list of complaints about the game. DDs and HE-spamming cruisers would probably the main issues.

AP bombs were a mistake in the first place (or, to be precise, them being able to citadel ships), but thats a different topic.

It begs the question why such Divisions are allowed in the first place. Just block different tiers from forming up a Division.

I was looking into the AA skills bc i have a few skillpoints left on my british CL captain, but none really looked worth it. Manual (or however it is called now) AA even looked like nerfing ones AA capabilities for a whopping 4 points...

*impatiently My point was that the few BBs which were active in WW2 were totally outdated, and looking at the techtree the only one built beyond T5 or up was the Gangut class. Many techtrees would not work without fictional or blueprint-ships. I think 1 hull of the Zeppelin was built and a total of 4 were planned. I would agree with you if there had never been any plans whatsoever to build Carriers for the KM. It was not an alien concept to them, but they never realized building them.

Counting 2(?) Gangut Class Ships from 1911...

Soviets didn't have any BBs and they still made a line out of paper projects - and i'm pretty sure those existed in Germany as well

Ägir is basicly a Siegfried with 3x3 305mm guns - who knows if Siegfried will ever be released as a ship. Alaska is awesome- defo worth the FXP

If they don't like Stealth Radar - why are they adding it with this line? And concerning "nerfs to things that need nerfing"..weeell...WGs track record on that is rather mixed, isnt it?
