honestly i think it's kinda hilarious that ppl are complaining about being able to buy 10 point captains for credits. especially for ppl who don't have that many high-point-captains it's a very nice offer if you're planning on starting a new ship line.

do these shop-captains come with 19pts or did he pump a ton of elite-exp into him?

i guess i worded that badly. the "meh" was about the game mode - the Benham in its current state is broken af :D if it was a more engaging event i would absolutely go for it.

Yeah, i'm pretty certain that mechanism is rigged AF. Noticed it with the Russian Collection.

Bought a whole lot of the first batch of boxes (at least 10, probably more) and...3 or 4 of the 2nd batch. Got the Izmael-Quest and nothing else.

And sadly no improved pen-angles :(

As I've been grinding some new tech-tree-lines lately, i got to experience the low-tier CV-gameplay. The T4 CVs aren't really an issue, but once you've had a T6 match with double T6 CV it gets bad - fast! Ignoring the obviously idiotic mechanics (AP bombs), my main gripe in that tier (besides the fact that there is no adequate AA on any of those ships) is the fact that air-dropped torpedoes are treated the same way as DD torpedos - i.e. if it hits your midsection it is treated as citadel-damage. The damage of those drops itself is usually not that punishing but the fact hat you can't repair any of it makes the gameplay-experience really unpleasant. At the end it is like in the old days - the team with the better CVs wins basicly all the time.

Oh good point! Didn't think of that. These guys played pretty poorly though (flat broadside for prolonged times). Got another weird cit on a Bismarck in an NC though..but as i said, maybe some fluke shots which happen every few thousand matches

I've had quite a few "weird" Cits lately as well. As long as i can remember, Conqs were basicly impossible to Cit, now it happens kinda often. Maybe just some fluke streak...

Don't know if you check ppls stats after the matches. Quite often you will find ppl who have a 10% higher WR with CV than any other class they play. It is not surprising to be honest. In a CV, most of the time, the only thing you have to care about is hitting stuff with your planes. No Positioning, no Angling, no Concealment, no Consumable-Decisionmaking - just nuking stuff out of the water. Playing surface ships takes a bit more.

So we're supposed to go Gunboating in T8 US cruisers? Yeah sure... There are quite a few ships (even whole tech-tree-lines) which are built around playing with cover. Open-water play in those is a surefire-way to get blapped.

if you insist on doing sth stupid like that, at least limit it to a certain rank (12,13,14 or sth like that), below which you can't use rentals anymore.

I think that this line is probably the most stupid thing i've ever read on this forum.

Main problem with the old system was that if a good CV played vs a bad CV, the bad CV was deplaned within 5 minutes. Don't get me wrong, in the current iteration the team with the better CV ususally wins the match as well. It was just even worse in the old days. People just remember it differently because u usually didnt meet too many CVs before the rework. So, yeah maybe 1 in 5 matches had a CV in it and you got the CV-experience that no one (except the CV players) liked, but nowadays you have CVs in 4 out of 5 games. mcboernester is right though. The class in and of itself is broken. Spotting and concealment is such an integral part to this game and planespotting just shits all over it like laxative-fed seagulls.

Flamu calls the Yoshino basicly a Super-Ibuki. If that sounds appealing to you (kiting away and spamming HE all game), wait for it.

The more you repeat this, the more you prove that you have now clue about probability in any way shape or form. Or, as i am still assuming, you are trolling everyone.
