Combined arms will remain your best bet. DDs tend to panic when faced off against Cruisers; they are too well armed with medium calibre guns to go toe to toe against and too nimble to torpedo reliably. So I will second what all the others have said on either sticking with Cruisers or running in a division. Teamwork is a hard art to master in this game it seems too.

The problem with the current border is that it doesn't stop the ship. IF you angle yourself correctly, you can shift along the border parallel to it, which is close to being an exploit at this point.

Rather too late for that. Manual Naval Firing solutions never work well in 3D games; you'd need to get the UI just right and you need the game balanced just right. At this point they would have to rework the game from the ground up, so I don't think we will see that happening. One thing I do want from Navyfield: Individual Ship names. I want to name my ship the HMS Fabulous and I want the whole world to see.
