    "Dude, where's my air cover?!"

Stop comparing Starcraft Marine medivac harassment with IJN fighters. They work completely differently. In SC2 you can harass mineral line and so on. But the biggest thing you seem to forget is that marines there have UNLIMITED AMMO! IJN fighters have LIMITED AMMO!!! This means they can only do so much. The tier 6 IJN CV Ryujo's fighters have a dps of 30 and a loadout of 38 (means they can shoot for 38 seconds), that is an overall average damage of 1140 per plane. Now in a sqadron we got 4 planes, this gives 4560 overall average damage for the sqadron. Now lets check a tier 6 IJN TB squadron. Each plane has 1180 HP. WIth all for planes this is 4720 HP. This means, you are not even guaranteed to kill 1 SQUADRON. You really have to be lucky with getting the high damage roles on fighters there. And lets not even talk about how much HP US TB at tier 6 has. They got 1200 each for a total of 720 for 6 planes. You really can't do anything, and if the enemy has just 1 fighter squadron with him, especially if he is US CV, then your stupid little IJN fighter squadron can't do anything but run away. Oh, and don't say they can just spend a few seconds with one target to make them panic, then go to next, and so on and so forth. Most CV captains send their planes together if they see an enemy fighter or AA cruiser to maximise the amount of planes getting through, so the difference is minial. Also, US TB squadrons are not hit as badly from panis as IJN TB are. The biggest way to avoid damage from CV is proper evasion and an AA cruiser or a US CV with fighter set up, IJN just can't do proper air cover. The numbers just simply make it impossible. Og and don't go talk about the Dogfighting skill. This is useless for IJN fighters as the skill only improves the fighters if they are slower than the enemy, except IJN fighters are faster than all equal tier planes except at tier 7 and 10. And they are allways faster than TB and DB, so useless for air cover. And then we got the skill to improve rear gunners. Basicly, there is a chance you will loose one of your IJN fighters reducing the damage they can do even more, especially if they go against US TB or DB. IJN fighters small ammo capacity and DPS will mean they have to return to reload all the time anyway, meaning they can barely do anything for 90% of the time, and when they land and reload they will take up time that could be used by DB and TB, wasting potential damage. Buttom line. IJN fighters right now barely got a use. For them, it is allways best to just go with as many TB and DB as you can, and if you ever have a fighter, it is best to just use it for self defense, so enemy CV don't snipe you.
  2. Under the settings menu and then going to Controls, you can see something called "display team pannel" and "Alternate Battle Interface Mode". If you put these on, you can get a lot more information about the players. The "alternate interface" can also be shown in game by pressin Alt and the Team Manu by pressing shift, but personally I recommend you toogle those options to have them shown permanently. Also, the battleships can be a hard class to play and master, but if you keep at it, you will be rewarded with some truly powerfull and fun ships later down the line. Have fun and good luck on the seas.

    "Dude, where's my air cover?!"

IJN fighters still aren't worth it. In my experience when I pick fighters, their DPS and ammo capacity is just too low to actually have a meaningfull impact. Sometimes one IJn fighter squadron can't even kill 1 equal tier US bomber squadron, simply because the US ones got so much health and the IJN fighters just aren't that good. Against IJN bombers they can maybe kill 1 and a ½ but you are still wasting time. Sure you can limit a bit of damage done to allies, but that is it. From my experience, more battles are won when you just go pure strike setup with IJN to go kill targerts. The faster you kill enemies, the faster you limit damage done to allies. And if you can snipe the enemy CV in first pass, there will be absolutely no reason to provide fighter cover. Now, US fighter set up can provide cover, but just like with cruisers, it rarely gives any reward to few people do it, again, just like cruiser captains complain they aren't rewarded enough for shooting down planes, so does CV captains.
  4. These ships will probably all come in to the game at some point, the question is just when. Just think of WoT how many tanks are there, both real and just paper designs.

    doubloons = gold?

We will have full unified account with premium time, Free XP and gold soon™.
  6. Yeh. Nobody, unless they pay money for them, is ever going to reach the maximum amount. Even if you got a confederate every day for a year, that is only 3650 flags. I think that is why WG chose that limit. They never ever have to be conserned about it again.

    Counter-Carrier Double Kill :D

They may be low tier, it may seem like kicking puppies, some might argue a lot of luck was involved. But I say nice job either way. A kill is a kill, even more true with double kills.
  8. I can't exactly remember what was stated in the Q&A, but basicly the number was so high that chances of you ever getting the maximum amount is extremely low, and if you do reach that high number, you got so many that you will have no reason to ever stock up on more. Seriously, it was something like hundreds of thousands. Considering only one flag can be used per game, the chance of ever using them all is slim. I don't even know anyone who has played that many WoT games, much less WoWs. Not to mention you can only earn a maximum of 10 pr. 24 hours. The amount of games you would have to play to earn the maximum number, even if you got all the flags each and every day, would take way to long. Short version. As of right now, you got no reason to ever fear of running out of space for flags. So stockpile as much as you want for the poor ships you don't like to grind for long.

Buying slots ain't that expensive to be honest. When you think about all of the other things you buy on a weekly basis. Safe a few coffees, or what ever, and you can save up rather fast.
  10. Well, we got Gamescon coming up, some of these new Premium ships may be given out as part of a special deal there, maybe as a code, special sale, gifts at the event or something like that.
  11. Because the game has two different economies? The scale and amount you earn work differently. In my opinion it is easier to farm XP in WoWs than in WoT.

    Tips for farming BB XP?

I would say, don't do this. Fire AP at everything except DD and low tier CV. The chance for fire isn't high enough on BB, and you reload to slow to even attempt to keep a fire going if he puts it out. Better to use AP, learn to aim for citadels and then just wreck cruisers, as both light and heavy cruisers have some of the weakest citadels in game. Tier 6+ cruisers can be easy to citadel, especially the IJN. Also, high tier CV can be rather well armored and have so much health, that fires don't work much. A BB fire so slow, that even if he puts it on fire, he will just put it out and you are waiting minimum 20 sec to even have a "chance" at putting him on fire again. Best to just citadel hit him and take 50-60% of his health, or if you are lucky with the sheel spread, one shot him.
  13. Well, don't we have the wargaming anniversary coming up soon?

    Am I stuck?

Actually the later US battleships like the North Carolina and up, really start to shine. They got great firepower and AA.

    WG I'd pay for fun

The MM does not take skill in to account, nor has it ever done so. Also, a lot of the times it actually comes down to just a handfull of players, most of the time the majority of people barely manage to do anything, even on the winning team. Also, sometimes small mistakes can be all it takes for one team to dominate.

    The...er...My truth about torpedoes.

I can't believe enyone have not stated the most fun experience you can have while playing a BB. Firering your main guns and take half an enemies HP with citadel hits or outright kill him in one volley, and then watch him call you are hacker in chat and curse about aim bots. Granted I am not that good of a BB player, I am still learning how to properly lead my targets, but this has been some of the most fun I have had.

I am deffinetly looking forward to see the new ships. On another note, just got the last medal for my second blueprint today, so I got both ready for Crane sister Kai Ni.
  20. It's allways fun to sealclub the bots when you need a break from random battles. Just be happy that we no longer have the extremely dangerous, super accurate, T-800 bots in coop. They could wreck players back then.

    Battleships...the Arty of WOWS

I like how a lot of people are expecting the Battleships to be easy to use. Why? Because they got the most health, armor and repair so they can afford to make mistakes? The biggest guns and longest range so they can deal a lot of damage? People really got to learn that Battleships (in my opinion) is maybe the most skill dependent class in the game, as it really requires to learn where to hit each individual ship and to lead targets properly to get the most out of ones guns. You also has to learn to angle armor properly as you are a big slow target. Also the poor rudder turn times also means one has to keep an eye on ones surrounding and learn to predict the battlefield. If you first start to turn when the torps/shells are heading for you, you are dead.
  23. I don't believe they have actually changed the MM in a very long time, we are basicly still using early testing MM. So is it really any surprise that we get such match ups? Now if we had the final MM, then this would be bad, but considering how it is right now. Not really a surprise.

Just be happy that we are using the limited classifications that we are, we could very easily have a heck of a lot more.
