In order to use fighter strafing ability, you hold down the Alt key just like when you want to make a manual torpedo or dive bombing run. How ever, beware that all allies planes in the area will also take damage, including planes from other players. Also, learn to look for the signs of clear baits, if he holds one fighter back in reserve while attacking with 1, then it probably means he intent to strafe you. Several planes flying in one straigth line also are inviting targets. The strafing run has massive RNG value, as it sometimes seem to work and other times not. I believe there was a bug, but it was fixed recently, I could be wrong. Learn to look out for signs of an enemy about to strafe you, and do the same to him. The ability was added to make fighter control more than point and click.

OP or not, lets wait and see untill we actually get our hands on it. So far all is just theory crafting on our part.
-
Well, if you fight chinese peasants you don't really need more armor or firepower I suppose. Still, now I can't help but Imagine small fairies in their small landing crafts trying to get over the huge waves at the beach, huge to them at least. Hmm, how would a firefight between ship girl fairies and abyssals look like? Do they have fairies as well? If so, I can imagine a firefight at the size of toy soldiers

I think it's total AA DPS is somewhere along the Rangers. The Ranger has less 40mm, but more 127mm and 20mm.
-
That skill does not work for TB squadrons. Only fighters and DB.
-
It certainly has it's potential, with 3 squadrons you can attack with some to start flooding and then attack again when they use damage control. The question is the spread and how much it will be affected by defensive fire from cruisers. Edit: That is good to know.
-
Weren't they per plane? Might have had a brain fart then.
-
The thing that seems to be good about Saipan are the planes speed and the health of the TB squadrons planes. They can probably get in and out without being affected too much by AA, but as they only have 3 planes and it can not be incriesed by captain skill and we do not know how the torpedo spread is, we can't say too much. The Saipans can't engage a Hiryu or Ranger 1 on 1, and most rangers with fighters probably went fighrer loudout and Hiryu allways has at least 2 fighter squadrons, so the Saipan fighters are not that good. Really, it is the speed of the planes that is the Saipans only advantage. Also, as I said earlier, if they loose one TB or fighter, they loose 1/3 of their power. Edit: I think it only takes the plane tier in to account and not CV. So yes, it should work really well if those are tier 9 planes.

You can do the same think with 2 bombers. 1 squad to set him on fire, usually start 2 fires on BB, then after he puts it out then you start another fire with second squadron. Also, those 1000 pound bombs mess up DD a lot. Something that is needed at higher tiers.
-
The Lexingtons 2-0-2 is actually quite good. Those bombers carry 1000 pound bombs, and they do a massive amount of damage. Th only disadvantage is that you can not put fire to someone and then flood them after they put out the fire. Not that you can't just start 1 fire and then another fire later after they put the first one out.
-
Hmm, not sure if I like the 3 plane limit per squadron. Makes them really squishy for against any amount of AA. Also, fighters are very reduced in effectiveness as their DPS is lowered a lot due to the lower fighter count, and if one squadron takes a loss, then that is a loss of 1/3 of it's firepower. Also, does it only have 29 bombers and 19 fighters? That isn't a lot. That is tier 6 hangar space. I am very interested, just not sure about the effectiveness untill I have tried it.

Basicly, most people would only play higher tiers. They are doing this to spread out people more and have them play multiple different ships. Otherwise all BB captains would just want to play the Yamato and so on. There have been several adjustments to the ships earning over several patches. Some higher tier ships had incrieses like 3% or 4% to credit earnings. Still have to either play with premium, premium ship or lower tier from time to time. Repairs are not based on amount of HP lost, but percentage of damage taken. Otherwise DD would basicly be free to play.

Apparently we got some new additions to Kancolle. The Marines have arrived, or rather the special naval landing forces. They got tanks Gotta admit, they are cute.
-
Well, the first AoBS movie was supposed to be a recap, they had announced that well in advance. The second movie that comes will be a full sequel. I got no high hopes for the Kancolle movie. If it is good, fair enough, if not, I had no expectations anyway.

Don't remind me, I remember trying to attack a lone Colorado in my Hiryu thinking it was an easy target. Ended up loosing 8 planes in the strike. Did get 2 bomb hits and 2 torpedo hits, but he just repaired it They allways had problems with balancing CV, both between CV's and against other classes. At some tiers they are UP, some tiers OP and other times USN vs IJN CV are screwed. The big problem seems to be how they constantly insist on making the two trees different in play style with different strike sizes/plane layout. Makes it incredible difficult for them to Balance, especially since the stats of planes and AA are so limited.
-
Let's hope that it is at least. These type of issues should allways take priority in my oppinion.

Well, I am actually rather happy that we are getting Campbeltown. It is a rather famous destroyer, for anyone who is interested in history that is. Sure it is a reskin, with modifications though, but that is too be expected. Most premiums so far are that, as they are easy and fast to push out while they work on the real tech trees. People just need to relax, it fits well with the upcoming event. Now that I think about, considering that they are announcing HMS Campbeltown right before the Operation Chariot event, if that means we can exspect other historical ships to accompany some other events in the future? One can hope.
-
Well, I suppose we can highly assume that HMS Campbeltown will be available on the 28 of march, as that is where the Operation Chariot will start according to the march callender.

Nicely spotted on the königsberg, but It does not look like an old cannon. When you zoom in, the barrel and muzzle looks like something that belongs on an old watercooled machinegun. Also rear end doesn't look like a cannon breach.
-
Well, if we are going to add that historical fact to DD's, then I allso want my DD type 93 torps to be basicly invisible to the naked eye and unspottable by BB's, as well as my CV to be able to destroy a lone BB in one strike from 100 miles away. Stop asking for certain realism, that is not what this game is, nor would it work for this kind of small arena multiplayer game.
-
He made that post more than a yearr ago, things have changed since then.
-
It's the same as when you are spotted by hydro consumable. ofcourse you need situational awareness for it.
-
Sometimes it's worth paying attention Especially since updates/balances can have made threads that are months old no longer valid.
-
I love how people are replying to posts made all the way back in may 2015 In any case, DB aren't relly that much of a problem, unless you use auto aim, or try to hit a DD.
-
Well, if you looked around the forum you would find it, specifically the new comers section, it explains a lot of mechanics. A shame so few people visit it. I am guessing you want to know at what range torpedoes are spotted by ships? If so here it is, made by Sharana Granted, this list hasn't been updated in a while, so it very well could no longer be valid. You might be able to fine more up to date info datamined from the game on third party sites.
