I have never understood why people are going on about the "game dying", it seems to be doing fine. Sure it may not have as many players as WoT or other AAA games out that, but that is to be exspected as WW2 ships and naval warfare is more of a niche genre. With regards to the RU server, well it is to be expected, they don't have that much interest in naval warfare. Can't blaim WG for trying to cater to them in hopes of keeping the RU players, they are a buiseness after all.

I like the way that Ocean is different, I just do not like it with the way the game mechanics of this game work (I do like the way game works, not complaining about lack of realism), like you can't do a proper naval gunnery duel on open ocean sailing broadside on and so on, so I do not understand the argument that it adds to the realism and immersion. And for me it is hell on this map when you are low tier, epscially as tier 4. There are no real islands or anything you can use to break up engagements and try to get isolated enemies. You have to stick with your team in hopes they will support you, except teamwork in this game is nearly none existant. I think one of the reasons why I hate this map, is that it usually ends up such a one sided battle, and those are no fun to me. To me it seems that one team allways pushes in to caps and takes them, while the other team allways hugs the corners. If your team pushed and got the cap, wonderfull you won, if not you lost. I just don't really find this particularly fun. Maybe that's just my experiences on the map. I think the idea of Strait could work, I just feel spawns are a bit too close, and the cross spawns do not allow for proper teamwork. This is especially really bad when 2 guys on your spawn is afk, you got no choice but to fight nearly alone or abandon it. If all the team spawns together, at least you can work together, but enemies are so close to you, that you can't wait for guys who are loading slowly to get it in or go meet up with your other allies before half the team is dead. It is allso really annoying having tier 5 against tier 7 while all your teams tier 7 are on the other side, you got no option but to run. Kongos won't do well against Nagatos alone. I also feel that the east team has a bigger advantage than the west team due to the way the secret passage is. The east team has greater access to the middle cap as their backroad is directly connected to it. If the west team wants to use their back road, they are out of the action unable to do anything for a few minutes.

Hmm, for me it has to be the Myoko. I just can't seem to make that turret traverse work. It is a good ship, but the enemy allways seem to be where I don't aim Could probably think of other ships, the Wakataka especially was bad luck for me, but haven't touched it since last summer, so I don't think that really counts any longer.

I really do not care for historical immersion with maps because of the arcade nature of the game. I mean sure, having maps with the right theme and so on is good. I just don't really think open maps add to the realism due to the way the mechanics work here. We do not get line of battleships that fire broadsides at each other like in real life or anything like that, due to the nature of HP and citadels and such. If that wasn't there and we had realistic gameplay with realistic damage models, sure, but not as it is. I just do not really see the map having much of a place. Well, to be honest, I might not have had a problem with it if there were no cap zones. But because there is, and it usaually ends up really one sided with one side pushing and other skirting around the map border, it just doesn't work gameplay wise.

Funny, I only get that map in Divisons, else I never see it. On the other hand, Strait I constantly see. Probably RNG at it's work.

I ain't saying that I do not have success on them, I win more often than not, except Ocean, no matter what I do I can not motivate my team to go for cap I am just saying that they got problems, that could be worked out, or simply remove the map untill WG figures it out. Or even better, allow each player to choose one map from the rotaion, that they would like to not end up on. This still leaves plenty of maps in the rotaion.

I think that is simply due to the speed of the planes at tier 9 and 10. They simply are in and out before anything happens. personally I do not see why we need those planes at those tiers. Why every tier has to have a new plane is beyond me, after all, most BB or CA do not get a higher calibre guns after every tier upgrade. Sure, they get AA, armor, health and so on, but CV get more reserves, more squadrons and so on anyway. I think they should scale down the speed of the tier 9 and 10 planes.

Well, I believe it was allready confirmed that national voiced would come at one point. It is just not a priority as there are soo many other important things.

Another guys who goes for the Yamato as their first tier 10. Constantly thinking that it is the biggest, most bad [edited]ship in the world. What is it with people automaticly going for that which have the biggest guns and thickest armor? Beside this is a game that has to be balanced, so BB will allways have massive weaknesses. Also, the Yamato is OP, it is just that torp spam is a proble, but this has nothing to do with BB, just that DD's need a rework.

That's some really usefull info to take in to advice. But it does make me wonder what USN BB's got going for them other than better turn radius and AA. They can't really fight at range, their speed limits their flexibility and their secondaries aren't much to look at. I haven't really been able to find a place for tier 4-7 USN BB's. It might just be my playstyle though.

True, but what is meant i that the Hindenburg can take advantage of the skills, boosting some of it's guns AA by 100%, the DM can't with it's biggest guns being 76mm.- 29 replies

Should premium ships be banned once and for all from competitive modes?

I personally do not think it is a case of banning premiums from competetive modes, but more a case of buffing/changing standard ships, so that there would be more reason to use them. You know, make more different ships and fleet builds viable, so we do not end up with that disaster, that were the WoT tournament a year back with nearly pure T54 lightweights. -

If I were to guess I would say it is due to those 85mm or what ever they are, that have that long range and benefit from the manual fire skill. Then again, can't really remember the what mm the skill is limited at, so I might be wrong.- 29 replies

Great to see the both to US late tier BB. Now if they would just buff Colorado HP I would be happy. Also nice to hear that they are working on armor viewer in port, but it will most likely be a long time before we see it.

Spartan, one of the things about IJN CV is that their AA pretty much sucks until tier 9 and 10. The AA was the US specialty. The best to do is simply invest skills and modules in planes and let them do your work for you. Try to lure enemy bombers/fighters over friendly AA before engaging them and use allies as shields for AA fire. Personally I would say that speccing in to AA and adding AA modifications are a waste, as it just limits your potential to help the team. But that is my opinion

Well, that is for one ship now. But then again, they did say they would rework the UI to show armor profiles and all that good stuff, so they might have planned this for a long time. Ofcourse we got a case of WG version of soon.

Hmm, considering that the Texas has around 150 AA DPS for the bofors, how much will they prevent CV to attack it? I mean close range drops might be more risky if outright impossible for tier 5 and 4 CV, Might actually make a very powerfull formation if the Texas stuck together with more ships, ofcourse with that speed it may be difficult.

I would say there is nothing surprising from this. From ammo cost it looked like you fired a hell of a lot of shell and torps without much hitting anything, so not a lot payoff. Ofcourse dying didn't help too. Unless the damage dealth is somehow extremely high for 4 torp hits, I do not see anything strange here.

Yep, they really need to look at what they are doing with the premiums. Then again, several US ships could use a buff in some way or another, most of the team it seems the only advantage they have is AA.
