Way more fun from the other side. Rush to the cap, see an enemy DD, get spottet, he pops smoke, get unspottet again, launch torps, get "first blood". Carry on with the game against more worthy opponents. Rinse and repeat
-
I can sail them, yes... They just seem so situational. Sailing a DD, it's like: "wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaadddddddddddaadddssssssssswwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaadddddddddddddddddaaaaaaaaawwwwwwssssssssssswwwwwwww" Sailing a BB, it's like:.........zzzZZZ *huh? game started already? "wwww........................................ssss.......................................................................................................w" Sailing a CA, it's like: Okay, lets think here..... what the hell do I do to get a "bite of the cake"? "wwww...... *BOOM 5 citadels........................." Okaaaay, not that.....

You couldn't stay away, could you?

None of the ships in WoWs are really realistic anyway Ofcourse, a 9 knot submerged Gato-class, 10 knot U-class, 8 knot Type VII, 9 knot S-class.... would be really hard to implement in a game where everyone is doing 3x the speed. Though they tend to do 2x speed when on the surface. I was pointing out the possibilities, not the restrictions Oh, and I'd pay for premium subs
-
Instead of going: No, no, no!! Ask the question: Why not? And: How do we implement them properly? See the opportunities, instead of the restrictions. I'd love to see them, they'd make a nice addition to the game. There are a lot of considerations to make first, one is a certain group of people crying every time they get hit by something they cannot see

This reminds me of a game.... What was it called? Something with B....
-
I always try to do more damage than the HP of my own ship.... And if sailing BB's to suck in as much damage on my ship as possible (from gunfire). But I'm still a noob (eventhough I've improved my DD winrate in the Sims after mtm78 stat-slapped me a while back)
-
Shh, don't tell anyone about google...
-
OP, leaving the game when a certain mode shows up? God, I really dislike your type.... You're the one ruining it for the rest of us when you pull a stunt like that Now, you grow a beard, some chesthair, pick up your axe and put on your helmet, and FIGHT goddammit!

How about a ship upgrade that reduces maximum firing range?
Skurfa replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
After the patch increased the area of detection by ~45% (without these upgrades), I've got the following to say: -
Detection mechanic change - Worst thing that happned to WOWS
Skurfa replied to Gojuadorai's topic in General Discussion
Example: The old detection value for the Fletcher, as you stated, were 9.8 km, and the new are 11.8 km. That's only 2 km..... yes.... but you seem to forget it's an increase in the area from which you can be spotted.... The area before: pi x 9.8^2 = 301.72 The area after: pi x 11.8^2 = 437.44 That's an effective increase in the area the bloom covers by 45%.... that's a helluva a lot more water.... -
That was clever, never thought about it

Me like: "Hmm, we have CV's in the match..... interresting.... we got the US CV..... crap....."
-
And match my AA-specced Cleveland against CV's please, I'm tired of joining matches without

Detection mechanic change - Worst thing that happned to WOWS
Skurfa replied to Gojuadorai's topic in General Discussion
Guess it's torpedo re-spec time for US DD's..... I really liked the idea of a hardhitting gun-boat the Sims, Benson and Fletcher are, it's a shame really. But the additional water wherein a ship can be to keep you detected, once you've eliminated your opposition, that's making me question the value of guns, especially considering the low HP of the DD's and the 20 second timer the enemy now has to pour shells into you. I don't remember if your bloom disappear when you go behind isles, but if that's changed too, it's really not cool -

You lost me here? What is your view on the increased detection on DD's? And reduced detection on BB's? -
My best game so far in the Fletcher.... I..... Must...... Do...... Better.....

Fortunately I never got around to research them

Because Gneisenau..... he already have that one, and if he had the blast in it I did, he wouldn't even consider Scharnhorst (that's the reason I don't have Scharnhorst at least) Blyskawichkshca is fun though (But it doesn't feel the same after the gun-bloom nerf, it feels squishier) So maybe the Belfast is the way to go (until they blanket-nerf it by making ships firing from smoke visible)

Detection mechanic change - Worst thing that happned to WOWS
Skurfa replied to Gojuadorai's topic in General Discussion
I have to agree, the biggest difference is not the removal of stealthfire..... The biggest difference is the nerf of detectability for DD's..... I love the Sims, but it suddently feels more vulnerable than ever, a 20 percent increase in detectability is huge..... And a buff to BB's I suppose, their detectability has decreased.... And all this for being able to invisifire (dumb mechanic anyway) on BB's..... with a rainbow shooter, and get 10K worth of damage on a "helpless" BB? -
The sixth sense miracle is pervading WOWS
Skurfa replied to OOAndreasOO's topic in General Discussion
I've been wondering about that too, and has started to keep a watch on that counter. Someone showing up, wait 5 seconds, then turn.... often a torpedo salvo goes by..... or is it just me? -
Balance changes of 2017 so far... part 1 - the worst ones
Skurfa replied to mrk421's topic in General Discussion
I not so sure the removal of stealthfire was a bad idea.... Reason: It's really annoying for a cruiser to have a DD stealthfire you - 3 reasons: - You're being stealtfired upon by a ship that you're supposed to counter. - A DD can really hurt a cruiser. - You often cannot catch, thereby counter, him. Same reasoning goes for BB's to some extend being stealthfired upon by a cruiser. It's even worse as a DD to be stealthfired upon by another DD, since the HP is even lower, and it's not really counterable. A BB experiencing stealthfire by a DD.... that's just a nuisance... nothing more. A lot of HP, and all firedamage can be repaired anyway.... And DD's are the counters of BB's..... But changing the entire "bloom" for all ships and classes.... that's an overall buff to BB's, and a few cruisers (Atlanta comes to mind).... more than a nerf to the ships actually able to stealthfire (so few)....- 41 replies

18 games Pink for TK'ing - In a BB for all things - Doh!
Skurfa replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
And here comes the fun Every game a friendly boat will aim to ram you at the start of the match.... just for fun... and you'll stay pink forever -
Wait what?!? The Gneisenau is a beast.... as long as you use it's speed and don't sit along the edges with all the other And it has torps, making it a very well armored torpboat as well No, the Friedrich der Große, that's a ship to hate.... slow, turns slow, slow firing guns, turns slow, slow, no torps, turns slow, slow.... I really hate that ship... being in BB's all the way up to tier VIII was fine, but after that... no way... I'd rather have speed and manouverability

Whats wrong with this picture - teamstacking gone crazy
Skurfa replied to KapteinSabeltann's topic in General Discussion
I would again like to advocate for a system where two or more divisions can attach to each other, and be able to join the same game. If it's really a balance issue, let the matchmaker put the divisions on seperate teams. Or simply make divisions contain more than 3 members, and if there are 4 or more, the members of said division will be split evenly between teams.- 28 replies
