Leave the higher tier to the BB's then, it's way more entertaining at lower levels anyway..... and you are spared of reading suggestions from poor Yamato riders who seem to know it all about the game What I've found out in the little time I have in a Fletcher is, stay away from ships with radar, and be very selective on what occasions to open fire..... which you probably already know..... And who the hell invented a BB with radar?? Making ships that "beats'em all" or are "selfsufficient" is downright stupid.....

"A+B".... and a cruiser and BB sets off towards C, cruiser gets killed, and the BB starts running away, towards the closest corner, in the opposite direction of the rest of the team...... 10K before getting killed and now surrounded by 5 enemies, he starts sending "SOS""SOS""SOS".....

Exactely, but that's not a problem per se.... When cruisers start complaining about a DD not fighting opposing DD's, and themselves stay away, that's a problem..... (considering they're in ships designed to counter DD's) Having DD's that are able to hard-counter cruisers in gunfights, that's also a problem.... CV wise, I don't mind the "Finger of Supreme being".... that'll teach those BB's to stick with the cruisers, and cruisers to stick with the BB's. If you want the game to use a RPS-formula, you need to make ships dependant of each other, so people cry, not because of overpopulation, but because of a lack of a class, that'll let another "run wild".

You could wonder they make a blanket-change to carriers, but leave the premium out of it.... Whereas in other situations you blanket-change other classes, but include premiums in the change?

I was just thinking the same the other day, but not with a Saipan.... Saw an overhead fight between a 4 plane and a 5 plane squads, and realized if the 5 plane squad retreated, they'd loose 20% of their force, whereas if the 4 plane squad did so, they'd loose 25% of their... Then I spotted a BB, and torped him.....

You were too far from the battle to be of any use from the beginning, hence the "last man standing" in a BB You picked off already severely wounded enemies, or cruisers, hence the "kraken" Now, next time, get in there, grab the enemy by their belt-buckle, and beat them up with those secondaries, then either die valiantly in a blaze of fire and gore of blood with your team, or make astounding great victories Believe me, nothing is more giving with a BB, to go in close, and after a fierce brawl, with the blood pounding through your veins get a victory. Close battles are those you remember -
Easy now Batman, you've just started playing. The game isn't supposed to mirror real life, more playability following a rock-paper-scissor-fuc... big hammer of fire-style You'll get the hang of it soon enough

Tier X in a tier VIII DD is workable, as long as you stay away from other DD's, and CA's, and the odd BB with radar..... well, I guess you're relegated to seeking out other tier VII DD's or follow your own tier X DD's as a support... Tier X in a tier VIII CA..... workable.... but meh.... Yeah, tier VIII is a dumb place to be, especially since tier X battles are boring as hell, don't know why though? -
That's not fair, you brought up my stats as to dismiss my arguments, and ever since I've fought my [edited]of to improve them.... And now you say it was all in vain? Actually, what I meant was that you always have the choice to try a suicide torp-rush one or two BB's, in order to level the field a bit for your team, thereby playing dangerous by choice.. But you're right, DD's can't really to any benefit be played totally safe, without hampering the team, but you can always use the map-hack and take calculated risks. No need to rush a cap, with no backup, and no escape-route (which I oddly enough see quite a few DD's do). On the other hand, back on topic, even with the newly implemented line of sight, I still don't mind BB AP doing the amount damage towards DD's OP describes.

Had a guy the other day, claming I was doing a poor job as a DD.... demanding I started bombing a Gneisenau close range in my Sims.... well, I did keep the enemy spotted, spotted and killed a japanese DD (after our team had finally killed of nearby BB's) which included the mentioned Gneisenau) It ended well, and we won... which was the only reply I made.... his reply was "we lost 2 BB's because of you"..... Well, should I care? I kept the enemy spotted, hurled torps at them, and when the BB's were overcome, killed off a DD.... and we won.... What was kind of odd, was he was in a CL, which should be countering the DD (which I agree was harassing us) but he obviously had an idea that DD's are throw-aways? Edit: Maybe I was doing a bad job, but I was in the front at all times, spotting and torping, and amongst the 3 ships that capped the enemy "base".... and we won...

Better now? I've worked hard as hell to get better at this, though I've cut a few corners too.... but it's 99% solo... now I just have to figure out a way to carry tier IX and X battles? It seems really hard, even when I get good games

You're right. I was suggesting a system where you'd get the same gain, whether you spent X amount of time in PvP or PvE. I guess going over serverstatistics it should be possible to balance it somehow. Which I guess the system already is to some extend. And yes, that does mean the easier mode would give less experience per win/battle in PvE. I suppose in this persons case 2 wins in a PvE would give the same as 1 win and 1 loss in PvP.....

In my honest opinion, I really do not see the problem in people grinding in PvE if that is what they prefer. In the end we already have poor players in PvP (myself included to some extend). The game sports a PvE part, if it draws more players, that will eventually join a PvP game, and hopefully play that as well, boosting my WR And every player in the game, will be one extra to keep it alive, and make the rest of us have fun in our PvP So if you can semi-afk your way to the top in PvP, why not let people earn their way to the top in PvE? Yes, it will be annoying having them there, but it's a fact they're already there...

I haven't touched PvE, it's boring. I'm not sure more people would play PvE if the earnings would be the same? And if they do, we don't need them in PvP anyway On the other hand, are the earnings in PvE the same as in PvP if you compare to reward vs. time played?

I don't get this thread? But anyway, if he wants to play PvE, let him..... as for the earnings, sure, let them be tha same at PvP'ers.

All cruisers can accomplish, a battleship and a destroyer can do better... It really excels in nothing, besides hunting destroyers (which some battleships are geared to do as well), not even AA-duties are they alone to handle anymore. Always the stay at an arms length, trying to burn.... Look at it wrong, and the citadel says "hi"... The meta seems to be: "Stay the hell away from enemy BB's, and find you own battles, or sneak HE in on someone".... Get close to the battle, and it's "bye" once a battleship decides you've annoyed him enough... I like the cruisers, but they often seem so useless.... merely food waiting to be eaten by both destroyers and battleships. Maybe the problem is the amount of battleships.... cause the game goes way better once the battleship-force has been withered down a little.
