    CV Rework Discussion

No Mate. The Fact is that we got Millions of People in the Arcade Games that put Gameplay above Historical Accuracy and just a Few Thousand Players in the Games that Prioritize Historical Accuracy. Thats why in World of Warships. Historical Accuracy is a Second Tought that can come in if it doesnt bother Gameplay. As for WG making models as close to History as possible. LOOOOL Made me Laugh. Sorry they are not. I dont know a Single Ship in this Game which is actually Historical Accurate. WG likes to CLAIM that they are making Ships Historically Accurate. Just like some Burger Restaurants like to Claim their Food is Healthy. But thats about it lol xD If you dont think WG will do anything they Promise why do you even bother ? Anything you say is useless cause WG will just Ignore it anyways and do what they want :) Also. Actually the Flak Burst is not a Single AA Shell. Its Supposed to be an Initial Salvo of all your Heavy AA guns Firing at once. And as someone above likes Historical Accuracy so much. This actually makes Sense. Because in Reality this was actually Done when possible. Because a Concentrated Scattered Strike into an Enemy Formation was way more Effective than all Guns Firing at will. I didnt. Never Claimed that Either. I was Targeted by them often enough tough. And the thing is. Even with Manual Drop. The Accuracy of CVs Drops was pretty Bad. Because you could not Adjust the Drop for the last 3-5 Seconds. So Evasion was very Possible. And let me make this Absolutely Clear. Even when you were Completely Isolated and had no AA Cover whatsoever. A Full Haku Drop which took the CV several Minutes to Set it up. Would still Deal less Damage to you than I can currently do to you with Haku. With a Single Torpedo Squadron. Because WASD Hack Worked lol. As for the Rest. Would you Please Back up such Claims with Screenshots and Show us what Planes you Actually Killed ? Because I had Shimakaze Kill over 20 of my Planes in Kaga. But that was because I kept Placing Fighters over it to keep it Spotted for my Fleet. It did not do anything to my Bombers. So if you Killed 40-50 Fighters thats Pretty Irrelevant. Because all it says is that the CVs Team was pretty Incompetent and didnt hit you despite the CV keeping you Spotted. :)

Then dont. Your the one making False Claims. I only called you out on them. If you dont like that then refrain from making false claims in the first Place. Cant really be Wrong on this. Since all I say is to Wait for WG actually starting Corrections on Pts before you Complain :P You can still Complain later if they dont Adjust it properly :P

    CV Rework Discussion

Irrelevant. You Claimed that Most Players want the Game to be Historical. Which is Factually Wrong as Proven by the Fact that People Play this Arcade Game in the Millions but Historical Accurate Games and Simulations get only few Thousand Players. And the Fact is that CVs would not be in this Game if it was Realistic. Because a CV cant do Crab in 20 Minutes and would not Fight from within 20km of an Enemy Fleet.

    CV Rework Discussion

You mean the Time where any Ship with DFAA basicly had an "I am Immune to CV" Button. Because the moment he Activated DFAA the Spread of this Alpha became so Large that the 100k Alpha Suddenly became 0 Damage ? And where as a CV you constantly had to Fight for Air Superiority to even get a Chance to Actually Drop your Bombs and Torps because there was constantly this Pesky Enemy CV with his Fighters ? Not even mentioning that BBs had Catapult Fighters that would Stay above them for like 5 Minutes and cause at least one of your Squadrons Accuracy to go to Crab when Attacking. I guess we also Ignore that CVs had something like Half the Amount of Aircraft Available to them. So Yeah. Sorry but it never bothered me enough to Preach back then. Because I got hit by such an Alpha Strike maybe once in 100 Games. Thats why we got a Test Server. This Mechanic adds alot of new Factors. So anyone knew it would not be Balanced Straight Away. So dont be so Upset over the very First Iteration of that Change going into Testing. To begin with whats come to PTS is already Vastly Different from the First Announcement. So its unlikely that the current Iteration will just go over to Live like this. As I said. The Manual Burst is actually a Nerf. Its an Optical Change that gives Players a Fuzzy Feeling of having done Something. The True Buff is the Overlapping AA. And that will likely be Heavily Adjusted before going Live. Because WG likely Needs Data first to actually Balance this Properly.

    CV Rework Discussion

I myself said above that this will likely need Adjustments before it goes live as it would likely overnerf CVs. But that doesnt justify making ridiculous suggestions like this. You Guys need to Remember that PvP Games are Supposed to have a Risk vs Reward Calculation. If a Ship which has Efficiently 0 Risk to itself gets an Alpha Damage comparable to a Ship which can be Onehit by most other Ships and has to go within Range of other Ships to have a Chance at actually even using that Alpha Damage. Then the Balance is out the Window. If a CV gets 100k Alpha then I can tell you up Front. I would Average around 300-400k Damage regardless of how Powerful the AA is. Because with Haku I can basicly lay down a Wall of Skill Similar to Shimakaze from outside AA Range. And I can do that Once per Minute without even the Slightest Risk to myself. I already do 5-10k Salvos with Rockets. So I.ll go up to 15-30k Salvos with Rockets lol. Oh my God... I can already do 25k Salvos with AP Bombs. So another 100k Alpha....... I am not sure Average of 300-400k is enough. I dont think there is enough Enemies Available for me to actually use the Potential Damage I would have. So pls Spare me such Jokes Really. Especially when I am not sure it really was meant as one.... As for the "I Win" button. Lets Wait on how much this Button actually Wins First. Because currently I would claim that one is Actually a Nerf for anyone but the Ships with Horrible AA. I mean dont get me wrong. But did you hear what he Said. 30 Seconds Cool Down for DDs and Cruisers. 45 Seconds Cool Down for BBs. So without Manual AA. You lose 20 Seconds Worth of AA Sector Reinforcement. In Exchange for Killing 1 Aircraft every 30-45 Seconds. With Manual AA. You lose Complete Sector Reinforcement. In Exchange for Killing 1 Wing every 30-45 Seconds. How many Ships with Strong AA do you know. Where you can Stay inside their AA Aura for 30-45 Seconds losing only 1-4 Planes ? :) Let me give you a small Run Down. Without Manual AA. 20 Seconds of 25% lost. In Exchange for a Single 8% Damage Burst. Or in Actual Numbers for the Des Moines. You Sacrifice about 4k Damage from your Continues AA and Gain roughly 2k Damage from a Burst. Notice Something ? Yep. The Total Damage is Actually Reduced. With Manual AA. 30 Seconds of 45% lost. In Exchange for a Single 40% Damage Burst. Or in Actual Numbers for the Des Moines. You Sacrifice about 11.5k Damage for a Single 10k Damage Burst. So that "I Win Button" is actually a Nerf. The True Buff to AA is the Overlapping AA Ranges. Because this means that German AA for example is Actually getting Decent again. 1. Mate no Offense. But even with the nearly 20k Alpha for Torpedo Drops. I can already Force BBs to turn into my Team. With 12 Torps regardless of Spread I would basicly Force the Enemy TEAM to Turn lol. 2. Sorry. But I see no Reason to make more Changes which then need even more Changes to be Balanced again. Its bad enough we got this Rework and thus ended up now adding crabton of changes to it in the hopeless attempt to somehow make it work. Starting From Scratch will only make matters even worse and start the whole crab again. Seriously no need for that. Check out War Thunder and other Historical Simulators. When you Notice that barely anyone Plays em you maybe get the Idea why WG will never be Historical. Also. If CV in the Game were Historical they would not be in the Game. In Reality CVs were Driving around in Carrier Groups. Preparation for an Attack could Last Hours. Because Attacking an Enemy Fleet meant that all the Carriers from the Carrier Groups in Range. Would get their Aircraft in the Air and Sorted. And then Start Attacking the Enemy in Big Waves of as many Aircraft as Possible because in Reality out of 200 Aircraft Attacking a Target maybe 5 actually Hit the Target. And Hopefully it was the Right Target. Because when the British Hunted the Bismarck they Threw More Bombs on British and US Ships than on the Bismarck lol.....

If my GZ can Dump 9x5k Torpedoes for a 45k Alpha Damage it would go to Instant Overpowered again. Not even talking about Haku which would get a 110k Alpha Strike... So Yeah. Not happening lol.

Well your Arguing with him at your own Risk ^^ I will Provide the Calculations and Facts tough. Since Bo51 Linked the Wrong Post of mine for this Statement and thus ended up Misleading People again.... And I assume it helps if you know the actual Back Story of this. My Kaga with the current Setup is capable of Fielding 38+14 Torpedo Bombers. (total of 52) 38+16 Dive Bombers (total of 54) and 26+11 Assault Planes (total of 37) per Match :) (This is Minimum Capability by the way. I have Rounded Down any not Fully Regenerated Aircraft even if it was 0.8 Aircraft Regenerated at that time. And I Calculated with Regen Start at 19-18 and 16 Minutes So assuming 80-90 Seconds for the Early Strikes. But I usually dont need till 16 Minutes left before I lose the First Assault Planes.) So to be Entirely Deplaned. I would need to lose 143 Bomber Aircraft. (Ignoring Fighters) Wing Size is 2-4-4 so with 130 Bombers Lost. I would still be able to have 1 Full Squadron or 1 Attack Wing of each Type. Squad Size is 8-12-12 so with 110 Bombers Lost. I would still be bale to have 1 Full Squadron of each Type. [Please Note. These Calculations Assume my Personal Playing Style. As unlike the Most Players. I start with Torpedo Bombers. I use the Heal when I Strafe the Enemy Fleet at the Start of the Battle to Scout their Positions and Early Split to the Field. As such the Torpedo Bombers are also the First ones which in my Case Start Regenerating. As the Kaga has very Fast Regeneration of the Dive Bombers. (1 every 60 Seconds compared to 1 every 80 Seconds on Torpedo Bombers) The Dive Bombers Still overtake the Torpedo Bombers. But the Assault Planes. Which I use last. And which got very Bad Regeneration to begin with (whopping 90 Seconds on Kaga) of course Suffer because they Start Regenerating very Late for me.] My Screenshot Actually Showed 17 Fighters Lost. 35 Assault Planes Lost. 47 Dive Bombers Lost. 49 Torpedo Bombers Lost. That Match Ended with the Time Limit. So I should have been Left with: 1 Assault Plane. 9 Dive Bombers 4 Torpedo Bombers. As I said. My Statement was. That I still had some Planes Left. Not that I had Full Squadrons Left. I do think I made the Statement of having Full Squadrons Left at some other Screenshot Posted in the Past. But that was not from the Game where I lost the 147 Planes. The Statement that I still had Full Squadrons of Aircraft Left. Was from this Screenshots here. Someone in the Forum after 0.8.5 Claimed. That Kaga CANNOT Bomb Worcester/Minotaur anymore. Because the Squadron just gets Deleted before it can Reach them. So I went ahead and Proved that Wrong. I happened upon a Worcester which was Hiding behind a Jean Bart. And then Bombed it. After the Worcester got Hit by our BBs due to being Spotted by me constantly. And on top got hit by Several Torpedoes and even Rockets from me. It decided that I can Screw off and wandered off to hide behind its Teams CV xD So I changed Target to the Jean Bart. As you can See from the Screenshot. I actually Spend alot of Fighters here. I Spawned em mostly to Spot DDs for my Team and also to keep the Worcester Spotted so my Team can Shoot at it :) This is actually a pretty Valuable Tactic. Because it Creates alot of Extra Damage Opportunities for your Team. Even if your Fighters get Deleted after 3-5 Seconds. They do Spot in that Time. And that is Damage to the Enemy :) Now as for the Losses. I lost 26 Assaults. 37 44 DBs 54 42 TBs. 52 So Potentially I would have had left for this Match. 10 Torpedo Bombers 10 Dive Bombers 11 Assaults I did actually Send the Replay of that to the Person which made the Claim that Kaga cant Bomb Worcester. So I do Remember that I still had a Full Squadron of Assaults Left actually. At the end of the Match. I was using it to Keep an Enemy Shimakaze under Pressure and Scouted as it was trying to take our Capture Point since we were pretty close on Points and while we later won due to Points from Kills. I did not know that then. So I wanted that Shima out of the Capture Point and thus Kept Feeding it Fighters to keep it Spotted ^^ Failed to Kill the Shima tough. Game ended after Teammates Killed Several other Ships thus Pushing our Points over the 1k mark and causing us to Win.

Interesting. So they basicly made 5 Changes that matter. 1. They Made AA Ranges Overlapping again. So your Long Range AA Does not Stop Shooting when the Enemy is less than 4km away anymore. Which is a Pretty Huge Buff for alot of BBs and Cruisers. As they often got Strong Medium AA which will now Contribute to Short Range as well. 2. The AA Sector Reinforcement is as Expected a Nerf to AA Cruisers. He did about 2k Damage to a Full Haku Squadron. Basicly Killing a Single Plane. In Exchange for losing the Continues Damage you usually had if you predicted right. Albeit they seem to have tried to Outbalance this a bit. By Ramping up the Standard Sector Reinforcement from 25% to 50% 3. They Changed the DFAA to Affect Heavy AA much more than Continues AA. Thus Effectively Nerfing it for Continues AA use but Buffing it Tremendously on Heavy AA use. So Evading AA will become much much more Importand against Ships that have DFAA. (I can already see alot of Crying from this one... The Ships with DFAA meeting a Good CV will Cry about the DFAA doing nothing because Continues Damage is not Buffed alot by this. While CVs which have not Learned Dodging will Cry about DFAA instantly Deleting their Squadrons....) 4. They Changed the Manual AA Skill to basicly Completely Remove the Continues Damage Buff. But instead give one Pretty Massive Damage Burst. Against the Full Haku Squad it was a 10k Damage Burst so 4 Aircraft Instantly Shot Down. Thats pretty Strong. And it also means that the Manual AA Skill Basicly Buffs that Instant Damage Burst by like 500% On AA Cruisers its of course still better to use the Continues AA. As the 50% on that just Deals much more Damage. But for Weak AA Ships this is a Huge Defensive Ability. 5. Supposedly they Changed the AA Values for Ships. To Flatten them more and thus make Uptiering and Downtiering less of an Issue. I did Notice in the Video. That the Des Moines Received a Slight Nerf there. It should do 800 dmg Hits with Continues AA on 100% But it mostly did 600 dmg Hits with the Continues AA on 100% Which is likely due to this Change Flattening the Numbers. Assumably the Weaker AA Ships have gotten their AA Buffed somewhat. The Nerf is however also Concealed a bit. As the Overlapping AA Results in Higher Overall AA Damage. It remains to be Seen how exactly this Plays out. Interesting to note on the Side. Reverse Calculating the Damage Shown in the Video. The Basic Damage Burst Seems to be 8% of the Squadrons HP. So not very Impressive. But the the Burst with Manual AA Skill Seems to be a whopping 40%. Which is Extremely Strong. I assume this will Require some Adjustments before it goes Life. As this would likely Overnerf CVs. And the Manual AA would also be too easy to Abuse on Divisions. Because if you got Manual AA on 3 Ships and all three Spring it on you. You would go down from 12 Aircraft in the Squadron to 2 Aircraft in an Instant. Which would effectively Render 3 Player Divisions Immune to Aircraft Attacks if they use that Skill. On Random Battles it will of course mostly Depend on how many People actually learn to use it Properly.

As I said. Dont take Bo51 too seriously. I dont know if its on purpose or by accident. (Always I do suspect the first...) But he tends to really mix things up and completely screw the original meaning they had... As for the Lost Planes. Comparing Lost Planes is an useless point to begin with. Kaga can take much more losses than other CVs on T8. But Kaga also loses alot more Aircraft per Attack than other CVs. Because its Planes got somewhere between 10-30% less HP depending on Squadron Type. Other CVs cant take that many Losses. But they also dont take this many Losses in the First Place. Take the other Screenshot for example. My Graf Zeppelin Inflicted 44k Damage on a Kremlin. Losing about 25 Aircraft. 44k Damage means I had to do at the very least 3 Full Torpedo Drops assuming all 3 Torpedo Strikes were Complete Hits and all of these Hits where on the Nose or Rear outside the Torpedo Bulge. Needless to say that in Reality it was more around 5-6 Drops. Losing 25 Planes to one of the Strongest AAs in the Game in 5-6 Drops is not a Bad Result. With a Kaga I would have lost something around 40-50 Aircraft in the Same Action :) Bo51 just likes to use this Game where I lost 150 Planes and claim it on other CVs to Suggest that you would get Deplaned Instantly in High Tier Matches by Attacking such Ships. Even tough its not True at all.

Scratch DD and BB from that. 40k Damage on Importand Targets in the Right moment can Decide the Match. 200k Farmed on Irrelevant Targets wont do crab for winning. A BB like Jean Bart for example Blocking your Flank against a Push and being in a Position where your Team has Trouble Reaching it. Can be an Very Importand Target and thus very Importand Damage for your Team. Meanwhile an Enemy DD that got Scared of being Spotted and is Running away to the Map Edge after being Spotted by your Planes. Is often not worth the Time to Bomb and would be useless Damage because he is no Threat or Advantage to his Team until he comes back.

Kaga. Not Shokaku. The one who proved that after 0.8.5 hit was me. But it seems the thing got a bit Distortet. I lost 147 Planes that Match. Only 17 of which were Fighters by the way. And my Statement was that I still had some Planes left. Not that I had Full Squadrons left. The Statement of Bombing High Calibre Ships is from a Different all together as well.... I had a Game with Graf Zeppelin where I bombed a Minotaur for 20k damage and a Kremlin for 40k damage. Both actions costing me over 20 Planes each. But Total losses in that Match were nowhere close to 150. Better dont take Bo51 too seriously. He has a habit of taking things entirely out of context and mix up statements to suite his own agenda. Which is why I have stopped arguing with him for most part as I spend more time correcting his misleading out of context distortions than actually discussing any arguments....

    CV Rework Discussion

Its Simple. Currently. By having the Sector Set to a Side. You have the Full AA Power to that Side right from the Start. And it only goes down after the Timer Runs out. So an Active Player could Switch it when the Attack Started and thus have it Finished when the Aircraft passed over. That way having 125% on Enemy Aircraft all the time. Now however you click the Button only After the Enemy is in Range. To get that 3.5% Damage Burst which makes 1 Aircraft Yellow if your Lucky. Hakus (T10 CV) AP Bombers for example have 2k HP each and 12 Aircraft. The 3.5% Burst would do a Single 850 HP Hit. So not even enough to Kill a Single Aircraft. It will Drop 1 Aircraft to about 55-60% HP Now pls note. The Stronger AA Cruisers Generally will do that kind of Damage without any Skills in 1 Second. (And Mino does 1.5 times that Damage per Second) For your info. The T9 and T10 AA Cruisers Generally lose 200-400 Damage per Second if they cant have Full AA Sector. Now there is 2 Things. 1. The Buildup takes 5 Seconds after you Pressed the Hit. So you lose 500-1000 Damage on the Enemy Squadron compared to the Old System. 2. You cannot Pre Order the Sector Change. And after Pressing it. Its holding 10 Seconds. So when the Enemy Passes you. He will be in Reduced AA Sector. And since you dont need 10 Seconds from AA Range Entry to the other side of the Ship. You lose even more Damage here. Likely something around 1000-2000 Damage less depending on how Fast the Enemy Torps are and how Good your Range is. 3. After that you get Cooldown of another 10 Seconds. By that time the Enemy Squadron is out if it wants or has Turned for another Drop. During that Time your Limited to Standard. So no Extra Damage at all for the Second Run. Meaning another 1000-2000 Damage less. So let me Summarize this for you. If the current Example is what we actually get. A Player which did not Pay Attention to AA wont change at all. A Player who paid Minimal Attention and at least had the Sector in the Direction of the Enemy will come out the same as before. A Player which was Actively Managing his AA Sector but was not very Good at it. Will actually Shoot Down 1-2 Aircraft Less in the First 2 Passes. A Player which was Actively Managing his AA Sector and knew how to do it well. Will Shoot down 2-3 Aircraft Less in the First 2 Passes. On T10. You basicly get 1 Damage Burst of 500-1000 Damage Points every 25 Seconds. In Exchange you lose 2000-5000 Damage from Continues Damage you would have done with Proper Sector Management. Now these Numbers are not Final. So they might still Change. But currently its looking like a Pretty Big Nerf to AA Ships. And since the Damage Burst is only once every 25 Seconds. It also wont be much in Terms of a Buff for Ships with Low AA Power. Even if we assume that the Manual AA makes it 10 Seconds. You get basicly get to Shoot down 1 Extra Aircraft every 30 Seconds. So Oh Yeah. I am Sure Weaker AA Ships will now be able to Defend themselves against CVs. LÖOOOOOOL
  13. Sunleader

    CV Rework Discussion

I would not bet on that. For some of the Bigger AA Cruisers. Even 3 to 5 Seconds of 25% Efficiency lost basicly means 1- 2 Aircraft less they Shoot down before they Reach him. But even if we assume the 12 Aircraft Squadrons. You would need this Buffed to about 10% just to get One Aircraft Killed with that Burst. So basicly 3 times the Current Value. WG might Buff it to 4% or God behold 5%. And that would be Incredible Much considering WGs usual Adjustments. But I doubt they will Buff it anywhere close to a lvl where its not a Nerf for AA Cruisers. The Numbers are Complete Crab as well. I mean. 5 Seconds just for Buildup ? By the Time the AA Sector is Reinforced I have already Dropped my Bombs in most Cases. How long does WG think I need for an Attack Run after I am already inside AA Range ???

    Developer Bulletin 0.8.7

    1. The AA Rework will be a Nerf. The Instant Damage seems to be Set Extremely Low. And your losing alot of Continues Damage in the 5 Seconds it needs to Build up. AFTER you Clicked the Button. Meaning that in Total you will do less Damage than with the current Permanent Set Sectors. Also if you dont Up the Instant Damage Numbers this will be a Complete Joke anyways. Because even the 12 Aircraft Squadrons need nearly 10% instant Damage to lose a Plane. So with the listed 3.5% in your Example there. Which hopefully is NOT how it will actually be. You would need to Activate that AA 3 Times on him for the Instant Damage to actually Destroy One Single Aircraft. 2. Guys. I would like to tell you this Clearly. Pls dont take it as an Offense but Simply as me Speaking for a Large Number of Casual Players. I WILL NOT RESET A SHIP TREE PERIOD!!! I am Glad you at least Removed the Combat Bonuses. Because that Way I can just entirely Ignore this new System of yours. (If you had done this Combat Bonus thing with +1 +2 +3 Ships I would have Quit the Game Instantly) But I cant really imagine that vast majority of People just Ignoring your New System and some Die Hards which will likely not even Play the Lower Tier Ships but just Free Exp the Tree anyways being the only ones to use it. Is your Intention here. So Seriously. Do us all a Favor. And Drop the Idea of People Deleting a Ship Tree for Heavens Sake. If you Really want so Badly that People Sealclub the New Players by Playing Lower Tier Ships. Just make Research Points a Ressource Similar to Free Exp which is Earned on Lower Tiers. You can even make it a Weekly thing and this way Control the Stream of Players. By Changing which Ship Tier actually Drops Research Points each Week. So you can Each Week Focus certain Tier Levels and Lead the Players there.

    CV Rework Discussion

Its a Nerf regardless of Full Squadron or not to be Honest. This means that now you cant have Full Reinforced AA Sector on Enemy for Full Time. And 3.5% HP means that No Aircraft will be Shot Down on First Shot. Even on Big 12 Aircraft Squadrons it will barely make 1 Aircraft Yellow. In Exchange for that you lose 5-10 Seconds of 25% AA Efficiency. This will be a Huge AA Nerf especially for AA Cruisers which got very Heavy AA Values and thus do far more Damage with the Continues AA Reinforcement.

    CV Rework Discussion

    1. No. What makes CVs OP is the Fact that their Damage can be this Valuable. And I did explain that in the Past when Referencing high Damage Values for CVs. I think I really explained that in high Detail when Pointing out the Difference between Average Damage Values of DDs and BBs compared to CVs as well. 2. No. A DD with 0 Damage will never be the Best in the Team. And a DD cant do this at all. A DD is just like all other Ships except CVs. Bound to a Small Area around himself. He cannot Interfere with the Battle outside his Range. And he cannot Choose his Damage to a Degree anywhere even Close to what a CV can do. A DD has to Target the Ships in his Range and in his Capacity to Defeat. Targeting a Cruiser 10km away with Torpedoes is Simply not Efficient. Even if that Cruiser would be more Valuable than the BB next to Him. 3. Irrelevant Question. Because this is a Fact lol. The Reason we have very Few CVs is meanwhile due to the First Premise we talked about. Losing is not Fun. And here comes the Price of a Shipclass that with just 1 Player per Team is more Influental on the Match than 3-5 other Players. If your not a Good Player. Then you will Lose ALOT. Unlike a BB where a Bad Player will still Win fairly Often due to his Team Carrying him along. It is next to Impossible to Carry a Bad CV. Thats why unless your a Good CV Player Capable of actually Playing that CV Strategically and Lead your Team to Victory with it. You will Lose constantly with your CV. Because your Team is 3-5 Players Short on the Battlefield. Before 0.8.5. The Skill Threshold was pretty much non Existent. A Good CV Player was of course still Better. But even a Bad CV Player with no Skill at all. Was Dangerous. So the Difference between a Good and a Bad CV Player on your Team was something that the others could balance out. But after 0.8.5. a Bad CV Player will take himself out of the Battle very fast. And thus put his Team at a Severe Disadvantage. And thus he will not just be Frustrated by his own Failure but also by the Fact that he will Lose the vast Majority of his Games. 4. No it Doesnt. Because as Said above. Ships can only Interfere with the Battle inside their Range. And the only Ship with Unlimited Range is the CV. A DD cant do anything about the Enemy Pushing the Right Flank when he is on the Left Flank. Even a BB will not be very Efficient at Dealing with something happening 20km away from him. He can try to give some Support Fire. But at this Range his actual Influence on that Situation is neglectable. Compare that to a CV. Right Flank is under Pressure ? Ok I go and put Pressure on the Right Flanks Enemy to Make up for it. Oh look. Left Flank DD has Retreated leaving the Left side Blind and under Fire. Ok let me Fix that for you and Drop you Some Fighters to Spot the Enemies. And I do that that inside the Same Game. And the Joke is. I am really General here. Because a DD will often not even be able to Support and Entire Flank. His Area of Influence is usually about 1/5 of the Map. A BBs Influence is 3/5s of the Map. But only inside the First 1/5 of it he is Importand. In the Second 1/5 of it he is at least able to Support. And in the last 1/5 of it he is neglectable and only serves as a Flanking threat. The Reason why Cruisers are considered more Influental than BBs. Is because with their Accuracy. They can often Cover 3/5 of the Map as well. But unlike BBs. They can Influence at Range. Meaning that on 15km away they are still capable of Excerting that Influence. And here is the Thing. A CVs Area of Influence. Is ALL OF THE MAP. A CVs Area of Influence. Is the Entirety of the Map. And there is more. Other Classes. Can only Choose their Epicenter on which they are most Influental. At the Start of the Battle by Deciding which way they Go. Because their Epicenter of Influence is their own Ships Position. If they want to Change that to a further away Area. They need to Travel there which takes them Several Minutes. (which is also why it is so Importand for a CV to Start the Battle with a Rough Scouting of the entire Enemy Team and see where their Team Goes. Because this Allows your Team to make Early Decisions at where their Influence should go. Which vastly Increases your Chances to win later because if your Team is not entirely Potato. It can build up a Frontline that wont instantly be Broken apart) Not so the CV. The CVs Epicenter of Influence is the Area which he Puts a Focus on himself. And he can Change that Focus any time he Wants to in about 30 Seconds and less. So Long Story Short. No. This is not the Same for All Classes.

    CV Rework Discussion

I had Great Games as well. But they are a very Strict Exception in Lost Battles. 9 out of 10 Lost Battles are not Fun. As for El2. He does make Points and is Explaining things to you. You not agreeing with them is a different Story. Now I am certainly not Good enough to Deal 300k Damage in a T8 CV. Even if I would just Farm BBs. But his Point is not exactly the 300k Damage. Its that Damage is not = Damage. A CV can have 40-50k Damage in a Match and be the most Valuable and most Influental Player of the Game. Because he Killed 3-4 DDs and thus Decided the Match early. As the Enemy has no more Forward Forces and thus is heavily Pressured by Dealing with DDs and Enemy BBs at once. Which is a very Big Factor. Meanwhile a CV can have 200k damage from Killing 2 BBs over the course of the Battle. And would basicly have done next to Nothing to Support his Teams Victory. Because the only thing he did was Kill 2 BBs on the far Flank where they did not really threaten anyone but were easy Targets for Air Strikes. A CV has the Incredible Importand and Influental Ability to Strike Vital Parts of the Enemy Team. He can look at the Map. See how the Battle is going. And Interfere in the Importand Parts to Turn the Game in your Teams Favor. If you fail to use that Ability and instead just go Damage Farming. You will gain much Higher Damage Numbers. But you are not really any worth to your Team.
  18. I only got enough Ships for something around 300 Tokens anyways. I did get T5 and T6 DD Missions from Crates tough. And the Directives arent very Grindy. I will just take whatever I get from Playing here and there.

    CV Rework Discussion

I would always like to Remind you Guys on this. But while RTS Certainly had a much Higher Alpha Potential. Actually Hitting with that Alpha Potential was much much Harder. Even with Manual Drop you would lose Control of the Squadron once they Started the Attack Run. Giving the Enemy Ship a Window in which he could Evade without you being able to Correct your Aim after him like you can do in the Rework. Moreover. In RTS the Aiming Circle was almost always Larger than the Enemy Ships. So a Guaranteed Full Hit Drop was pretty Rarely Achieved even if no Evasive Maneuvers were done. And then there is the Issue with Counterplay. In RTS a Single Guy with DFAA could throw off your Aim. Even if DFAA did not kill as many Planes as it does now. It did Screw the Aiming and Turned a Full Strike with 4 Bomber Squadrons into a Low Damage or even no Damage Run. All of this was of course done while you also have to Remind yourself that not only Catapult Fighters could Last 5-6 Minutes and also Throw off the Aim if you did not Deal with them first. But that the Enemy CV had Fighters available as well. And would Hunt you with them if he saw you Gathering alot of Bombers somewhere. Which made it way harder to get an Undisrupted Drop like you can do constantly in the Rework. People for some Reason always Remember that in RTS a CV could Delete a Ship in a Single Coordinated Strike. But they constantly Forget that unlike the Rework. Where you cant do anything about the Strikes. In RTS a Single Action could Completely Ruin that Strike which took 3-5 Minutes to Prepare. Welcome back Minia ^^ Just Admit that you missed us :P Uhhh. Thats Relative. I do think a Game should not be Frustrating. Not for the Side that Wins and not for the Side that loses. But pls note. While I am a Casual Player. I am the Competitive Type. So me having Fun on a Lost Game is an Incredible Rare Case. And will only happen if something out of the Ordinary happens to make me laugh and say "Worth it" And well. That is pretty Rare you know.

I am not Sure if your Trolling. But in case you Watched the Video there. The Message is: "They are Proud on making Historically Accurate Ships and giving them a Second Life on the Battlefield" If they said they are Proud to be an Arcade Game thats Fun to Play I would not have said anything. But they are not. They are Claiming that this is Historically Accurate. And it is not. Hell. Not even the Damn Ship Model is Historically Accurate. So maybe next time before you Lash out on Someone about this being an Arcade Game. Maybe first Check the Topic.

    CV Rework Discussion

Half yes Half no. The thing currently is. That a CV will beat a DD unless the DD gets his Torpedoes out. Because the CVs Aircraft will kill the DD faster than DD Guns kill the CV. (Gun DDs like Harugumo excluded as they are little Monsters lol) Cruisers and BBs will usually Win unless they are already heavily Damaged beforehand. So the Survivability is less the Problem. The Very Accurate Strike Capability against DDs is. Because 8km away the CV will pound the DD over and over every 20 seconds. And as you cant really evade rockets. This will kill the DD very fast. Whats needed would not be less Armor/HP for the CV. But less accurate Strikecapacity. So DDs (in general not just in close quarters) regain the ability to evade CV Strikes. And thus Survive long enough to kill the CV.

    CV Rework Discussion

I am more Scared of CVs really. Unless I am caught with my Pants down 6km away from a Cruiser and thus immediately Focused upon Radar getting me. I will usually be able to Swing around and Avoid Fire for the 20-40 Seconds which I will be Spotted by it. A CV however posting Focusing me and thus keeping me Spotted for 1-2 Minutes is a Death Sentence unless I got Smoke ready and unless he is not able to Push me out of Smoke. On this one I Disagree. No Offense. But the one Caught with his Pants down here was the DD. Graf Zeppelin if its Skilled on Secondaries. Has 9.5km Secondary Range. And with 8x150mm Guns and 12x105mm Guns being able to Fire at you at once. You basicly Sailed into a Light Cruiser Escorted by 2 DDs here. Add to that the Graf Zeppelins Fairly Good Armor and especially its Below the Waterline Citadel which even Yamato will not Reach in Close Range. And you get an Idea that this CV is simply not a Target you want to mess with in close Range. I have beaten Atlantas in Artillery Duels using my Graf Zeppelin. But. That is an extreme Exception to the Rule. Carriers are for most Part very Badly Armored and can often be Citadeled with HE Shells by BBs and Cruisers. And while thanks to WG thinking CV Players are all too Stupid to Breath and Think at the same time. Fires and Flooding are useless against CVs. Their HP will Generally Drop Extremely Fast against Surface Ships if they come into Close Range. And unlike GZ they Generally do not have any Bigger Secondary Batteries and their Secondaries usually only reach like 4-5km So the Graf Zeppelin is in this case an Extreme Exception which it pays for by being less Proficient with its Aircraft. Aye. WG thinks that CV Players are not able to Breath and Think at once. So they Dramatically Reduced Fires and Flooding for CVs as there is no way to Manual Trigger Damage Control and Automatic Trigger is on First whatever Damage. So as CVs tended to be Stuck on Fire or Flooding by Enemy CVs to Trigger the Automatic Damage Con. Then ended up on Fire and Flooding with nothing to do against it anymore after the Enemy CVs Second Squadron Arrived. 1. Your Factually Wrong. That CV is not Rushing Center and is not out of Planes. He still has Planes in the Air. And his Position in his Sides Cap Circle close to the Island Suggest he just wanted a Forward Position. Which especially in a Graf Zeppelin. As your not worried about DDs so much. Is a Common Tactic. He just didnt Except a BB to do a Suicide Rush there. And from your Position I would not even put it beyond him to have Survived your Suicide Rush while you did not. I would be very Interested in the Replay to See how much Damage he did to you with his Secondaries and how that Suicide Rush of yours Played out *gg* Especially because I made the Experience that you tend to not take the thing with the Truth very Seriously in the past. :) 2. Graf Zeppelin in 10 Minutes Regenerates a Full Squadron of each Type lol You dont Need a Full Squadron of each Type however. You will have 3 Full Wings in about 3 Minutes. And 3 Half Squadrons after 4-5 Minutes. Which is more than enough to Attack. Screenshot actually Shows he is not Deplaned at all. And the one doing a Suicide Rush is actually AirSupremacy. The Enemy CV is well on his own Side. And Seeing that Screenshot. AirSupremacy being Killed and the Graf Zeppelin Surviving his Rush is not exactly unlikely to be Honest. Because if you Check the Screenshot. The CV is not really in Firing Arc for most of the Enemy Team. But the Rushing BB is going into close quarters with an Enemy Cruiser or BB (cant tell from the small Symbol. ^^) So the Result of this was either that he Killed that T8 CV in a Suicide Rush at the Expense of his own BB. Which means he Exchanged a T9 BB for an T8 CV. Or that he Failed his Suicide Rush and got Killed without even Killing the Enemy CV. Thus having wasted a T9 BB trying to kill a T8 CV. Pls also note that he has several times in the past been Proven to have been Dishonest when proclaiming results and actions in Matches. (or even entire Matches happening at all) So I would Ask myself. Why has he only Posted a Screenshot where the Graf Zeppelin has Full HP. Why did he not Post a Screenshot of him (or someone else) Killing the Enemy CV. Why did he Post a Screenshot Showing the CV being far on his own Side of the Map where the only Enemy in Range is a Suicide Rushing BB. And has not Posted a Screenshot of the Enemy CV having crossed further into Enemy Territory where its actually in Firing Arc and Range of several Enemy Ships. I Suspect that the Result of this "Supposedly" Suicide Rush of a Deplaned T8 CV which according to his Screenshot is not Deplaned at all and was fairly covered between his Teams Islands. Was actually that he got his BB Killed in his Suicide Rush and that the Enemy CV likely even Survived it and Continued Bombing his Team from his Forward Position. Your Opinion on his Person is rather Irrelevant to be Honest. The Grozovoi is certainly a DD which you dont want to Drop Fighters above and which you dont want to Circle when he is inside Smoke. But as a Target for Rocket Aircraft it is not really such a Hard Enemy. His AA will Kill a few Aircraft. But thanks to his rather Big Size for a DD he also takes alot of Damage from Rocket Attacks and can be pressured pretty hard by Torpedo Bombers and HE Dive Bombers. He is surely Annoying for CVs to Deal with. But lets Face Reality here. He is not standing any Chance when he is Focused by a CV. Compared to other DDs which while not doing much Damage to your Planes. Keep Disappearing if they get 3km between them and your Squad and which are very small and thus often return only 3-5k Damage for each Rocket Attack as you just dont hit them properly. The Grozovoi is actually not such a Hard Target.

    CV Rework Discussion

My Personal Method. 1. Strafe Enemy Frontline with Torpedo Bombers. I will Drop Fighters on the Side where I started before I move all the way to the other Side. After having Scouted the Enemy Teams Position. I then Pick a Target or Several. And Drop Torps. Pls note. I Favorize Cruisers as Targets. 2. Dive Bombers to any Favorable Target I found. Leaving Fighters on the Capture Point or roughly 8km in front of the Enemy Forward Line. 3. Rocket Assault to any DD or Cruiser that is Currently Extending the Enemy Forward Position. Again Leaving Fighters on the Capture Point or Roughly 8km in front of the Enemy Front. Unlike most People I start with Torpedo Bombers. Because their Heal allows them to Strafe the whole Enemy Frontline and also Spot Cruisers without taking losses from Long Range AA. And the Early Torpedo Strikes Disrupt the Enemy on that Flank from moving into Position. Especially Cruisers which need to Reach Islands Fast. Can be Thrown out of their Game by this and thus Sustain Damage from Long Range Fire as well as Failing to Reach a Good Forward Position that is Beneficial to their Team. I do not Shorten my Squads here. I Generally Assume these 3 Squads to take Heavy Losses. The Reason for this Aggressive Early Strike comes from 2 Points. A. The Enemy at this Point is not able to Form a Blob. And also has to get into Position. So I not only cause a Disruption which can give my Team a Window to Push the Front into the Capture Points and thus Fight from an Advantageous Position. But I also get a Good Chance for Enemies being in a Position where they are Easy to Bomb and cant easily Evade me without Worsening their own Position. B. The Early Attack Serves to Incur Losses so Plane Regeneration is Started for all my Squads Immediately. And none of the Squads Stays Completely Full and thus not Filling any Additional Aircraft Slots.

    Dry Dock: Bismarck

That a Joke ? Warning ahead of Time. Extremely Salty Post Incoming. You really Dare putting Bismarck Up there and Talk about Historical Recreation ? The Bismarck in its last Mission had been the Target of 2800 Shells. 400 of which were Confirmed Hits from the Wreckage which does not Count the Large Number of Shells which Struck the Belt Armor and did no Damage whatsoever. These Hits were Done at Low Ranges of below 10km. And Despite that. Not a Single Shell Penetrated the Citadel. Not a Single Shell Penetrated below the Waterline. And despite all of this. The Bismarck did not Sink. The Bismarck took at least 5 Confirmed Torpedo Hits. 1 of Which were Confirmed to have not done any Damage Whatsoever. 1 of Which Jammed the Rudder. 2 Of which did at least no Notable Damage. And only the Last Hit being Considered to Potentially having Caused Damage which cannot be Confirmed because the Bismarck at this Time also Detonated Scuttling Charges due to which we might never know if it was the Torpedo or the Scuttling Charges which caused the Ship to actually Sink. Up this Day. Due to Expeditions to the Wreckage not being able to Enter the Hole below the Waterline and thus not being able to Confirm the Exact Cause of the Damage. It is not Clear wether it was the Torpedo or Scuttling Charges which Sunk the Bismarck. Meanwhile In the Game. The Bismarck is Generally Penetrated by Pretty much everything easily. It has Horrible Torpedo Protection. One of the Worst for BBs in the Game. And the German Artillery and Fire Control. Which was Considered the Best of the Time for Ranges below 20km. Is relegated to have absolutely Abhorrent Accuracy in the Game which would not Hit a Barn from 5 meters away. Sorry. But Pls leave the Bismarck out of this. Wargaming has been Portraying most German Vehicles, Aircraft and Ships in its Games. To be Third and Second Rate Crab that is Vastly Inferior to most Allied and Soviet Stuff. As a German. I am going to tell you this Straight. I Accept alot of things in Favour of Game Balance. And I also Accept things to not be Historical or Realistic in an Arcade Game. But You Guys. Do NOT Deserve. To be Talking about Recreating Historically Accurate things like the Bismarck. And as a German. I feel honestly Offended and Enraged. That you guys who are treating the Bismarck as the last Crab in this Game. Are Daring to Put it on your Front Page and patting yourself on the Shoulder on how Good a Job you did on Historically Representing it. Because your Representation of the Bismarck in the Game is about as Historically Accurate. As Donald Trump is Honest.

    CV Rework Discussion

Thing is Mate. The Idea behind the Rework was to make CVs Balanced and Remove that Limit on CVs. The Reason why CVs are Limited is because even right now WG themselves Admit that just having 2 CVs causes People to Ragequit the Game. And LOL Mate no Offense. But I use my CVs to make Money. I made the Yamamoto etc Campaigns entirely in CVs. And even the Dailies during the Benham Grind etc. Was CVs. CVs are the most Rewarding Class to Play right now. Stat Padding and Credits Included. The only better Credit Farmer than T8 CVs is likely the Missouri....
