Well. I assume all of us and even WG does Agree with that. After all the Reason why 0 Points is an Instant Loss. Is because WG Wanted to at least cut such Onesided Battles Short so People could move on to the Next Match. But Its not such an Easy thing to do. Unfortunately Competetive Games tend to have Large Skill Differences between Players. Do you Know this Feeling when after the Battle is lost you have MORE Exp than even the Best Player of the Winning Team ? :)

Aye. But I see no Reason why they would make it Different. Why should they Remove Underwater Ballistics for Submarines at Periscope Depth :) And a DD can easily Shoot into the Water at 2km. And they are the ones mostly going to be Engaged with the Subs. From the Gamescom Video Yesterday. We can actually also tell that a few other Things will be the Case. The Subs will come with 3 Different Depths to Drive at. Which will be Surfaced, Periscope Depth and Deep Dive. And they have Confirmed. If your in Deep Dive you will be Blind and you will not Spot any Ships. Instead you get a Rough Hydro Acoustic Direction Indication for Enemy Ships. For Homing Torpedoes you will need to use an Active Sonar Ping which will give away your Position on the Enemy Minimap. And Depth Charges will be Thrown by the DD Driving into a sort of Last Known Location of an Enemy Submarine and Following it. So it will actually not be as Automatic as it Sounds. As it will be more like Driving into an Temporary Cap Circle lol Edit: And lol I actually didnt even notice that on the Twitch Stream. But Yes. The Submarine did in Fact get Hit while at Periscope Depth :) So I guess this is also Confirmed.- 207 replies

1. Good Decision :) Your Words will Always Carry far more Weight if they are Bolstered by your Results. :) 2. Well. I am just a bit Triggered that you Proclaim yourself as a Top 50 Kaga Player when your not in that List :) Because you might not Realize. But keeping this kind of Result over a Larger amount of Battles is pretty Difficult. And without the Minimum Battle Requirement you would have very Different Numbers in the Top 50 to begin with ^^ 3. Thats your Choice. But dont Proclaim yourself as a top 50 Kaga Player unless your Name is actually in the Top 50 :) 4. Damage Farming isnt Difficult in Kaga. But its not that useful for your Team if you Farm Damage. Damage will mostly not Win Games.

Thats only half true to be Honest. Reaction Time, Reflexes, Speed of Tought, Intelligence, Coordination Skills, Fortitude of Mind, Alot of Skills Required to Perform well in a Game. Are Skills which are often Decided by Genetic Profile and Age. They arent something that can be Changed to any Degree by Learning or Training. You can Train most of these Skills to some Degree. But you wont go beyond certain Potential Points. For example. I.ve got a Steeltrap of a Mind even in Serious Situations. Which Allows me to make Calm Decisions even in Situations where actual Danger is Involved. But many People simply cannot keep Calm in certain Situations even in Games. And even if they Train they will never reach the Level of Someone who was Born with this Naturally :) I for example absolutely lack Reaction Time. I mean that. I got an Abhorrent Reaction Time. So I will by Default NEVER be a Good Player in Action FPS Games despite me being a Great Player in Tactical FPS Games :) Also due to the Post Below I actually Noticed. I am Creeping Closer to you in the Kaga Ranking of WoWs Stats xD Your on 105. I am on 113 now ^^ Tough well. That Ranking isnt very Good in my Eyes. Its Rating Damage Farming way too high lol. No Offense. But no you are not. Battles are Part of that Equation Mate. And the Requirement for a Minimum Number of Battles is there for a Reason. And if you cant Maintain that Level over the Course of the Minimum Required Battles then you are not Part of that Ranking. As for your Skills as a CV. We cant Really Tell. It doesnt Seem like you have Played after the AA Changes. And before the AA Changes CVs were simply Ridiculously Overpowered and any Potato could have Good Stats with them. So unless you actually bother Playing a bunch of Games with your Ships. Its somehow not really leading anywhere to tell us your a Good Player in CVs. As we cant Confirm the Statement.

True. In Fact. Considering the Topic. A Skill Based Matching System would actually be Counterproductive to begin with. Because if Bad Players get Matched with Bad Players they wont Learn anything and the Gap will become even worse. And I doubt anything beyond Personal Attacks will come out of the other Guy anyways. So might as well stop.

Well. The Argument was that The DD would be Killed by Gunfire from the Submarines Teammates. Due to the DD being Spotted while the Submarine is Immune to Fire. If the Submarine is Spotted by someone else. Then he will be Fired upon Regardless of the Submarine. And given that DDs can Fire out of the Smoke if a Teammate Spots for them. Why should Submarines not have the Ability to Stealth Fire if someone else Spots for them :) ? And Yes. Given the Halloween Mechanics this will not be an Issue. I am using a "Assuming your Right" type of Argument. He Says that WG is too Incompetent to Balance the Classes it already has. So they cant be Trusted to Balance the New Class called Submarines. So I say. Assuming that the above Statement is Right. And WG is Incapable of Balancing the Game anyways. It doesnt matter if Subs go into the Game. As nothing changes :) If you want to Attack the Statement of WG being Unable to Balance other Classes. Pls Quote the other Person. Because I am not the one who made that Statement :)- 207 replies

Well. Even if its Automated. Its basicly Drive Over. So its still Manual. Since its you Driving over the Submarine. And No. Thats the thing I keep Repeating to you guys over and over. WG has Below Water Ballistics. And Subs in Periscope Depth are basicly just below the Surface. So they can be Fired upon by Normal Guns. And they got barely any Armor. And very low HP. So they will be extremely easy to Sink like this. Moreover. If Subs get a Deep Dive Option where they go BELOW Periscope Depth. They will very likely be Blind by doing this. Meaning they lose the Option of Spotting. A DD Charging at them will thus be Invisible to the Submarine itself and to the Enemy Fleet. You guys need to keep in Mind that Submarines can be Hit below the Water by Guns just like other Ships can be Hit below the Water. Periscope Depth does NOT make you immune to Artillery. 1. Honestly Said. NO lol its really Not. But what is Balanced. Is the Class Gameplay except for CVs. Cruisers are Strong against DDs. BBs are Strong against Cruisers and DDs are Strong against BBs. This Works fine. CVs dont work because they are currently Strong against Everything. 2. I have Repeated this like 15 times now and your still not Reading it. Periscope Depth Dive DOES NOT PROTECT FROM GUNFIRE FOR HEAVENS SAKE. So no. It does not Provide Cover. Cover would only be Provided by Deep Dive. But Deep Dive makes you Completely Blind to everything around you and will likely be extremely Limited. 3. Torpedoes will Hit Subs if they are at Periscope Depth or above. They in both cases are in the Depth for Torpedoes to Hit. An Cap Circles wont be much of an Issue due to Fairly Low Speed and due to the Fact that most Subs will not want to Challenge DDs 4. Actually thats not True. The Mechanics are in the Game already. And they dont need any RNG at all lol Because neither you Driving over the Sub nor you Firing Hedgehogs at the Sub nor you Firing your main Guns at a Submarine is in any way more RNG than Firing at other Ships. 5. With all due Respect but thats Complete Bollocks. Just because we got some Gun DDs does not make the other DDs more Gun Oriented. My Kagero is Completely Torpedo Based. I dont use my Guns at all unless I am forced to. And thats the Meta for any Torpedo DD. Tell a Shimakaze its Gun Oriented Gameplay lol.... 6. As I said before. More Classes make Balancing easier. Moreover if WG cant be Trusted to Balance the Game then it makes no Sense to keep Developing anything at all. After all WG cant be Trusted to invest Sufficient Work for anything right :)- 207 replies

Oh. And if I might Ask. Which Fundamental in-game balancing Mechanics are Subs Ignoring ? Submarines Work by the same Spotting Mechanics as DDs. And just like Smoke Reduces Visibility of DDs to something like 2km. Submarines can go to Periscope Depth to reduce their Visibility to about 2km. Submarines can be Hit by Normal Guns just like DDs. But will be Small and Harder to Hit. And currently with the Announced HP. They will be even Easier to Kill on Range than DDs because they have very Low HP paired with being Pretty Slow and not very Maneuverable. Just like DDs. The Submarines will be Extremely Vulnearble to Hydro Consumable and to being Spotted by Enemy DDs and Light Cruisers. They will be able to Avoid Spotting by Aircraft to some Extend just like DDs. Now for how to Deal with Aircraft Once Spotted there is a Small Difference. DDs simply Limit the Time they can be Spotted by their AA. Which makes Especially DDs with Strong AA very hard to Spot for CVs due to Losses. Subs will Dive and thus become Unspottable for a Limited Time instead. Similar to how DDs who Smoke. They will basicly be a Mix between AA DDs and DDs with Fast Recharging but Short Duration Smoke. Actually there is only 3 Actual Differences between DDs and Submarines Gameplaywise. Submarines will be able to Avoid Radar. However this is Outbalanced by the Fact that unlike DDs they wont possess the Speed to Withdraw or Retreat when being Spotted. Submarines will be able to use Smoke without others seeing it. Hence there wont be a Warning Cloud if a Submarine reduces its Detection Range. But again this is Outbalanced by the Submarine Massively being Reduced in its Speed if it Does that. And Finally. Submarines will have an Option to Deep Dive to Avoid Gunfire for a Limited Period of Time. Which is Outbalanced by the Fact that Submarines have only Torpedoes and thus have far less Options to actually use their Concealment. In Total. Submarines are actually Working mostly within the Current Mechanics. They are just DDs which are far Worse at Actual Combat but much better at Sneak Attacks. This is Completely Different from CVs. Which cannot be Countered except by an Automatic System you have little Influence over. And which cannot be Attacked directly because their Attacks neither give away their Location nor do they need to be in Range of anyone to Launch Attacks. CVs Biggest Problem is that they are Untouchable. They are Sitting behind the Lines but can Attack everyone. Thats why the Normal Balancing is not Working with them. They got a OneSided Balancing where they Basicly dont Fight other Players but an Automatic System Defending other Players. And that Ruined them. But Submarines Face other Players Directly. They got a Two Way Balancing like all other Ships with no Automatic Systems Involved.- 207 replies

On that I disagree. Submarines are extremely Easy to Balance to be Honest. Because unlike CVs they are Extremely Close Ranged Ships and very Slow. A CV is a Risk to every Enemy on the Battlefield. But the only one actually being Dangerous to it. Is the Enemy CV. Everyone else is just a Target. But for Submarines this is not the Case. They have to get Close to Fight. They will Forcibly in Range of Enemy Weapons. And they got Laughable HP and Armor. Most BBs can effectively Onehit a Submarine with an HE Salvo. And as Submarines going into Deep Dive will likely Lose HP or have a Tight Limit or be Unable to use Torpedoes etc etc. They cant actually Play for long while Staying Immune to Normal Gunfire. Not even Talking about Depth Charges and other ASW Weapons. Which will be able to Reach them even if they Deep Dive. So most of the Time the Submarine will be Vulnearble to Weapons which Every Single Ship has. And with Radar and Hydro being so Commonplace. They will likely have a Pretty Hard time getting Close Enemy Ships in the First Place. In Fact. I expect Submarines to Start out Extremely Underpowered. Because at first they will Likely constantly be Spotted and Deleted before Reaching any Enemy Properly.- 207 replies

Guess this is the First Time in History of World of Warships that German Battleships will actually be Good for something other than being Exp Pinatas for the Enemy Team. Unlike what many People think. Submarines were not immune to Gunfire. They had little to no Armor. So HE Shells Exploding in the Water near them. As well as AP Shells fired at them below the Waterline were Extremely Dangerous when they were at Periscope Depth. So a German Heavy Cruiser or BB which can Spot a Submarine 5-6km away despite it being at Periscope Depth to Launch Torpedoes. Will be Royally Buggered as the German Ship can then Shoot it with its Main Guns *gg* Then Again. There is no Way WG will Allow that. Prepare for German Hydro to be Nerfed with some Extra Condition like "Sub Detection 3km" or something like that....- 207 replies

Number of USN Tier IX "Benham" DDs in WoWs...

Its not that Surprising at all to be Honest. The Grind wasnt so Hard in the Sense of being Grind. But in the Sense of not Failing to do it. If you missed just 3 Daily Missions during the entire Event. You were no longer able to get the Benham for Free. So aside from the maybe 100-200 Whales which Simply threw 150 Euro at Wargaming to get the Benham instantly without doing any Grind. The Challenge for everyone else was Really Big. Because most of us are Working. And thus might not actually be able to Play every Single Day. And as Failing the Daily Grind you lacked at Minimum 3-4 Crates and thus basicly 20 Bucks of Gold Doubloon if you Failed the Marathon Grind. The Hurdle of getting it for a Normal Player was Pretty high. After all. Fail Just 2 Days of Grind and you got to Pay 20 Bucks for the Benham. Thats not a small amount for the Normal Player. And if on top you Failed any of the other Bigger Tasks you would Increase in Steps of 5-10 Euro. Ultimately. The only People getting the Benham was the People Ready to Throw Money at the Game. And the People which could Complete the Daily Grind. I myself only got the Benham because I was Lucky and the Event happened right over my Summer Break. Thus I only had a few of the Early Event Days where I had to do the Daily Grind atop of my Work. And for the entire Later Half of the Event I had lots of Time as I was Off Duty. -
1. No it doesnt. Sorry. 2. Mate no Offense. But not only is the Games you Name not MMO Team Games on even an Remotely Similar Scale to WoWs. But on top of that. The only Game which you actually Name which would actually Classify as Team Game in such a Setup as WoWs. Is actually known extremely well for Trueskill not working properly at all there and constantly Matching Extremely High Skilled Players against Complete Newbes due to its Calculation having estimated the chances to Win completely wrong. Microsoft has been Working at this constantly attempting to get it working Properly. And it is still a Work in Progress expected to come with an entirely new Iteration for the next Games where its supposed to be used. 3. I did actually just Explain a Whole Crabton of Downsides. But yeah go ahead and Ignore Reality. The Joke is your even Contradicting yourself there. Because you actually Announce that a Unicum with 11 Potatoes would be Equal to 12 Average Players. When just a few Lines Later you will Claim that the System is not about Pushing People down to 50% Winrate but about Weighting Wins and Losses Differently. 4. Actually it Proves that you have not Understood at all what I said. Because if you dont get Equal Points for each Loss or Win then YOU ARE PART OF A LEAGUE/LADDER System. After all. If Someone Wins against YOU who is a very Good Player. He Gains more Points than if he Wins against some Newbe who just Joined the Game. Leagues dont forcibly mean that you only Player against Players in your own League you know. 5. Now there is another Set of Problems here. Because this Wont tell you much about the Players Skill and only tell you about the Skills of that Division. Meaning he could just be Pulled by his Friends. But leaving that aside its actually Hilarious that you Choose this of all examples. Because this is another Edging Point of Trueskill as it tends to be absolutely Incapable of Properly Estimating Divisions Influence in a Battle and has so far been Weighting Divisions extremely low which lead to Divisions being extremely Effective at Raising your Personal Ranking due to having a Huge Advantage in Battle if the other Team does not have a Division but still only being Filled with Players roughly Equal to your Skill Level (according to True Skill) In Fact. Wargamings Decision to Simply match any Division with a Division is currently the most Efficient Counter in Matchmaking. And is actually more Balanced than the Method used in True Skill where a Division is Simply Calculated as an slightly Increased Victory Chance for that Team.

Since most of them dont even have 30 Knots Surfaced thats an very small "If" Mate. lol And the Need for Speed is actually also simply another "Class" They needed something to make French DDs Unique. Something that Allowed em to not be Forced to Directly Balance them against other DDs and instead make em into something that People will Forgive if things Vary somewhat.- 207 replies

That too much for you ? :) Well its not Surprising. Think of the Following. You have 80 Differently Sized and Shaped Stones. Each of which has its own Weight. Now what do you think is Harder. Balance 1 Scale to be exactly even. Or Balance 5 Scales to be tilted in one Direction :) When you have Different Classes which are Supposed to have a Class against which they are Strong and a Class against which they are Weak. It Greatly Reduces the Balancing needed. Because if you have to Balance each Ship against each Ship. Then you got an Error Margin of like 5% for each Ship against each Ship. But if you Divide it into Different Classes. And from the Start Say. Class A ---> Class B ----> Class C -----> Class A Then you only need to Balance them to these 5% Margin inside their own Class. At the same Time for Balancing them against the other Classes People dont care so much if that Ship from the Class which is supposed to Beat your Class is 120% Stronger or 130% Stronger than you. Neither do they care if the Ship that is supposed to be Weaker than them is 80% or 70% of their Power. Meaning for the Remaining Classes your Error Margin becomes 10-15% instead of 5% Making it far easier to Balance the Game. World of Warships is already doing that on Giant Scale actually. See Guys. If your Playing as a DD. You will like most People Pay alot of Attention to how much Damage another DD does compared to you. If he can Kill you much Faster than you can Kill him. Then you get Annoyed because he seems so much Stronger than you. But do you Care about it if Cruiser A can Kill you 10% faster than Cruiser B ? No not Really. Because your Dead either way. It doesnt matter so much. Neither do you care if BB A needs 5 Torpedo Hits to Sink while BB B only needs 4. Thats why WG is trying to make Tons of Different Classes. So they dont need to Directly Balance Ships against each other. Thats why each Nation has some Sort of Specialty Skill. Because this Way. They can avoid a more Fine Balancing and can just Say. Ok Shima got Great Torpedoes but is default weaker in Guns than the Daring. Ok British Cruisers dont get HE but get Smoke. So they cant really Complain that the Japanese Cruisers got so much better Torps and so much more Firepower especially with HE. Neither can the US Cruisers with their Radar and lots of Guns Complain for not having good Torpedoes. The Reason why Aircraft Carriers Failed. Was because they were Simply Strong AGAINST ALL Classes. They were Supposed to be Weak against Cruisers due to Strong AA. But they were not. Thats why they were Overpowered and Perceived as Extremely Unbalanced :) 1. Actually you dont need any Specialized Weapons at all. Submarines at Periscope Depth can be Fired upon with Normal AP Shells. Submarines have little to no Armor so just like you can get Underwater Penetrations on Ships. You can actually Fire at Subs with Normal Guns to Sink them. And with the Few HP they got they wont really take much to Sink. Specialized Weapons are only Required if the Submarine is gone Completely into Dive. But at this Point it has no way to Aim its Weapons at you either. Because its Completely Blind. In case you didnt Know this. But in Reality. Once a Submarine was Found. It was basicly Helpless. Because it could not Stay near the Surface due to Risking being Sunk by a Single Shell Fired into its Hull. But Diving meant it would be Purely an Escape Run as the Weapons got Disabled and the Submarine was Blind. Meaning once this happened the only thing the Submarine could do was trying to Hide and Escape. As long as the Submarine is at Periscope Depth and thus Capable of accurately firing its Weapons at you. You can actually Hit it with Perfectly Normal Guns. 2. The Importand bit is actually above. Simple Class Balancing. As long as DDs get Effective Weapons against Submarines. Submarines will not be Overpowered. They will simply be an Slower DD with better Concealment. Wie Alle Deutschen Schiffe. Klar is der Brauchbar wenn man gut genug ist. Aber wie bei fast allen Deutschen Schiffen über T6. Ist es halt das Schlechteste Schiff seiner Klasse. Ich Spiele die GZ sehr Gerne. Ich komm auch mit ihr Klar. Aber alle anderen T8 CVs sind halt einfach besser.

Possible. U-2501 is a XXI Class Submarine. The XXI Class was the last Actually Build Attack Submarine in the German Navy and it was a Revolution of Submarines. Because unlike the Submarines so far. Which were basicly Driving around the Surface and only Submerge for Combat. Being Forced to Resurface in Regular Intervalls and for Several Hours in order to Run the Diesel Engines and Recharge the Batteries while Exhausting the Diesel Combustion Gasses. The XXI Incorporated a Completely new Design. It was meant to basicly only Resurface for Resupply and for Docking. Being able to Stay Submerged for Several Days and even when it had to Surface it would only go to Periscope Depth and have a Snorkel to produce Exhaust. Not only were the Surviving XXI Submarines taken and actually Operated by Several of the Allied Navies after the War for over a Decade. But the Allied Countries actually Incorporated alot of the XXIs Design and Technology into their own Cold War Submarine Designs. So the XXI having a very Long Dive Time would make sense. However. Until the Subs actually come up. I would not pay too much Attention to the Stats. I doubt they will remain like that. And as we dont know several of the Importand Stats. We cant really make a Judgement on the Submarines Power either. I know WG Hates Germany like the Pest. The completely Underpowered German Ships in this Game which are found around the Bottom of the Statistics in all Tiers and Classes are more than enough Evidence for that. But I cant very well Condemn WG on it before they actually bought Submarines out. I do somehow expect German Subs to just be another Demonstration of how much WG is Biased against anything German. But I still have hope that maybe Germany for a Change gets something Decent that doesnt end up at the Bottom of the List for its Class...

Got only 3 Packages and the T5 and T6 DDs despite actually Spending some Doubloons to Buy Additional Crates. Last Time I ever bought any Crates in this Game. If there is anything I like even less than Grinding Events. Its Gambling Events. -

I like the Game. The CV Rework was Pretty Bad. But they are moving in a Positive Direction. So I am sure we can get over it. I do have alot of Complaints about the Game as well of Course. For Example Wargamings Hatred for anything German which leads to German Ships Generally being at the Bottom of the Leaderboards. Or the Ever Increasing amount of Gambling in the Form of Lootboxes which is getting extremely annoying. But right now there is nothing I would consider unbearable or unfixable. So I am Content I guess. -
Well it Depends on the Submerging Mechanics in General. 10 Seconds for a Ship with only about 10k HP and barely any Armor is quite a long Time. So if it was 10 Seconds it will be Dead if its Spotted as even a DD will Destroy it with Guns from 5km away in this Time Frame. And even a Single Stray Torpedo Hit is likely going to be their End Instantly. Moreover there will be the Questions on how exactly Submerging will Work. How long can it Stay Underwater. How fast will it be Underwater. The Speeds above are Clearly Surface Speeds. And the only Submarine that became Faster instead of losing about Half its Speed Submerged was the German XXI Class Submarine. The Question will be if you can actually do a Deep Dive here to Avoid Waterline Gunfire. It will also be Interesting if you get Spotted very Close if your Submerged to Periscope Depth. And then there is Hydrophone Consumable which will likely Spot you even if your entirely Submerged and which due to its long Duration will keep you Open for about 2 Minutes. If a Sub cant Deep Dive to Avoid Fire entirely. German DDs and Cruisers will be absolute Horror for Submarines because they can Spot them Submerged even from 5-6km away and then Just Fire AP into the Water to Hit the Submarine below the Waterline. Its going to be Interesting how WG Plans to do this.

Just Saying. But if WG cant Balance the Game anyways. Then why would you Oppose Subs ^^ More Classes actually Increase the Error Margin of Balancing because you get Rock Paper Scissors Systems which allows Ships to simply be Balanced as Rock is 150 against Scissors but 50 against Rock. Which is much much easier than Balancing for Ship A to be 100 and Ship B to be 100 without them being the Same. ^^ So if WG Sux at Balancing. Then you should Welcome Subs. Because the more Classes we got. The easier the Balancing will become :P- 207 replies

Meanwhile. The Announcement of Subs has Somehow Struck Pretty Deep hasnt it ^^ Well. I told you. With a Clear Majority being against it. WG would Implement it by the end of this Year xD

The Jean Bart got a Pretty Big Secondary Battery. But most of it is 100mm Guns which can even Pen a DD. Can these go over 19mm with IFHE ?
