I am not going to read the entire discussion you 2 had. And I dont like butting in like this when you guys are ranting at each other. But something there Bugs me. A. Most of the People in this Topic which say that AA is useless and that CVs are Overpowered are actually CV Players. Good ones at that. Which have Repeatedly Posted Replays proving their Claims. So do me a Favor and dont try to make it look like this is just some people Crying about being Killed by CVs... B. Ships are ALWAYS matched against a Ship of the same Class. CV WR therefore says absolutely nothing about how Broken they are. Because you ALWAYS have the same Number of CVs on each Team. CVs could basicly Drop Tactical Nukes and each Game could end with CV on Team A having 12 Kills and CV on Team B having 11 Kills. But CV WR would still not go any higher than the other classes. In Fact they might even drop lower because Draws are counted as Loss. And as mutual destruction would make Draws more Likely CVs would likely drop in Winrate compared to other Classes due to having mire Draws... Thanks in Advance.

I see. 2 Days ago on my Myoko I was going for the Left Flank of the Map after Spawning. I got Spotted and People were Aiming at me so I was looking towards the Enemy waiting for BB Salvos to be Fired at me. But nothing happened. Then Suddenly I got a Heavy Hit into the Rear of my Ship. I didnt see any Shells Fired or Flying so I was pretty Confused. Because it was too early as that anyone could be behind me or flank me from Center. Guess it was Ghost Shells then.

Wrong. Once more you are Taking his General Average. But that is Completely Irrelevant to the Current Situation. Because his General Average Includes Battles he Fought during Game Versions where AA was vastly more Powerful. In the Current Update however AA has become next to useless. And his Average Damage for the Games after the Update has actually been Higher than 60k The Topic is the Current Update and Situation in 0.8.7 where AA has been Nerfed into Oblivion. So Average Numbers which Include Results from 0.8.6 where AA was an Actual Threat to CVs. are completely Irrelevant. -

1. When you want to go for a Scouting Run you basicly Start from whatever Flank of the Enemy is closer to you. You fly towards the Enemy until you Spot the First BB. Then you Drop a Fighter. The Enemy will at this point Continue Heading towards your Team. So your Fighter will for the next Minute Spot any Ships that come towards him and enter his Spotting Range. Meanwhile you can Turn away and go Spot the other Flank of the Enemy Team. At the other Flank you can of course then also Bomb some Enemy Ships you come Across. Preferably a Cruiser. Torpedo Bombers Motor Boost holds out far far longer. Thanks to that its Faster than the Rocket Attackers. Also. When you take such Scouting Runs you often end up Strafing Enemy AA Diagonal. Which makes you very easy to Hit. The Heal of the Torpedo Bombers comes in very Handy here as it allows you to Heal off that Damage and thus not lose the Chance to Attack. But as I said. Thats just one Option. Hunting DDs is extremely Importand. And a Good Choice at the Start of the Battle. So using Rocket Attackers and Hunting for DDs is always a Good Choice. Just dont try to Cover the entire Enemy Team with a Spotting Run then. Because you waste alot of time and the Rocket Planes just Die way too fast when you Strafe Enemies. 2. Thats why I usually use Torpedo Bombers First. I just do a Scouting Run with Torpedo Bombers and Torpedo an Enemy Cruiser after the Scouting Run. (Or if no Cruiser is Around I just annoy the next Battleship) After that I use the Bombers to Annoy whatever DD I passed during my Torpedo Bomber Scouting Run. And potentially force him to use Smoke. If he didnt use Smoke I Send my Rocket Planes to him after that. If he Did I send my Rocket Planes after the next Closest DD. That way I usually have all my Squads Regenerating Planes right away. And Yes. Torping Smoke is often a Good Choice. If you can Torp the DDs Broadside even if you dont hit him. You can often Force him out of Smoke this way. If you then Drop Fighters on the Smoke as you pass over. Even if you Deal no Damage to the DD Your Team might get a Good Chance to do so. 3. Yep. Thing is Torpedo Bombers thanks to having a very Long Time available for Attack. Can really Dive below Flak entirely. You can basicly Approach in Low Flight and this way are entirely Safe from Heavy AA. But for some Reason People always try to only Start the Attack Run on the last few km. After they already passed through Enemy AA. Instead just Start the Attack Run a few Kilometers Earlier and you dont even need to Dodge AA because your Planes just Dive under it. Also Yes. Most Nations Rocket Attack Planes Change Altitude upon starting the Attack Run. So they can Dodge an AA Line this way. They dont become Immune to AA Puffs as no Nation goes low or high enough for that. But you can use the Altitude Change to Evade one Line of Enemy AA Spawns. The UK Attackers unfortunately barely Change Altitude. It still Mitigates some Damage as you still make a Minimal Change. But they are not taking a Drastical Change like most other Nations. So they still take Damage if you hit the AA Puff Line. 4. This is where it becomes Annoying that English is not my First Language. So I cant exactly Describe this Properly. Basicly like this. Black Ring being the Ship. The Red Lines are where the AA Spawns. (Of course they do have a little bit of Depth as well. But its rather minuscule) The Violet Box is the Squadrons Position. If you Attack like the Green Arrow. You Cross them and thus are not exposed to them that much. If you Fly like the Blue Arrow. You end up inside an Enemy Barrage extremely fast. And Yes. If your the AA Cruiser you can Try to catch Planes that way. If you can Position yourself so that a Squadron basicly Strafes you in 4-5km Distance you often End up getting Good Hits because they get hit by Heavy AA. Thats also why you often take so many AA Hits when you Spot an Enemy Cruiser too late and then try to Turn away from him. By turning away you often end up flying right through his Barrage. As for the Range thats Easy. Pretty much All Ships Heavy AA Range is between 5-7km So if you dont know. You just Stay 7km away. And Yes. Ships can Maneuver in that Time of course. They can make themselves Harder to hit once you Commit to the Attack. Now for Rockets this really doesnt matter so much. Because you can Adjust your Aiming with Minimal Movement during the Attack Run. You dont need to Attack from any Specific Direction. For HE Bombers and Torpedo Bombers I actually abuse this. You see as I always Fly Straight for the Target and thus usually wont lose alot of Planes. I can almost always get a Second Attack in with the same Squadron. And Ships take a long time to Change Direction. So what I do when a Ship maneuvered to make itself harder to hit for the First Strike. Is that I just do the First Attack from the Bad Angle even if I only get a few Hits in. And then abuse the fact that he cant Change Direction fast enough anymore to Hit him Full Power with the Second Strike. Also. For DDs dont worry. Its always a Counflip with the British HE Bombers actually. Your Bombers Drop 2 lines of Bombs. But the Spacing is so Large that you basicly never land more than 2 Bombs on a DD unless your Super Lucky. Often you wont hit at all. Regardless of what Direction you Attacked from. With Rockets its actually better to Attack from Broadside of a DD. Because the Ships Silouette going up out of the Water gives you a Bigger Target :) 5. Well its up to anyone himself to choose the way he Plays. So I dont make any Demands on this. I myself for example Play vastly Different from the other CV Players. And they are much better than me in alot of Cases. After all I dont use Slingshots or Squad Shortening either. And I often wont Focus DDs to the Extend which others do. Usually only Attacking them if they pose a Threat. But there is some patterns and mechanics which people should know about which can help them to have less Problems regardless of their Personal Playstyle :) Just like a Cruisers and BB should always know that Showing your Broadside comes with a Big Risk of being Citadelled. -

1. US BBs still got Pretty Strong AA. But they still also got Nerfed harder than others :P 2. Nope. Never said you Should Balance based on Bad Players. Thats why I consider the idea of Guaranteeing Planes Surviving for 1 Strike Minimum an Stupid thing and would rather have a different System. 3. Not Contesting said and I didnt say anything to that end either. 4. Facts are Facts even if they are Small :P 5. Well if you care you make a Topic on it :P I can currently Bomb anything and anyone without effort. AA is way too weak right now as that I would even make a Difference between Bombing a DD or a BB.... And well. Your Welcome. Its not like your Opinion is that Different from Mine. It just seems we have different Priorities as to how to approach the Problem. -
It is lol. Because thats part of Balancing. And this is a PvP Game. Its useless to be Good in PVE where your not Competing against other Players. Ships need to be Balanced in PvP. Not in PvE. In PvE nobody cares if a Ship is a bit Over or Underpowered. And Yes. There is a Reason why IJN BBs are usually the Second worst Place in the Statistics. But thats beside the Point. The Problem is WGs idea of Balancing. German BBs have the Special Ability of Hydro and the Special Ability of Good Secondaries. And they have the Special Trait of Turtleback. In Exchange however they got Inferior Firepower and on Top a Horrible Accuracy that was Nerfed into absolute Oblivion. But not only does Hydro Require a Skilled Player to be of any use. And not only do the Good Secondaries need a 14 Point Captain to even be remotely useful. Everyone by now also knows about these Abilities and Traits. And if your Enemy knows you can autospot him 5km away even inside Smoke and that you will see Slow long Range Torps early. Then they can act accordingly. If they know you got nearly 12km Secondary Range with pretty Strong Secondaries they can deal with that. Now the much besung Turtleback is honestly said really useless. Because at the kind of Range where it Kicks in to make you Citadel Proof you wont get any Advantage of it. The Advantage of not getting the Repair Penalty due to not being Citadelled is useless in this close Range. Cause at this Range you wont have the Time to use several Repairs anyways. And the Advantage of being Citadel Proof at Short Range comes with a Tremendous Disadvantage. While you end up with lots of Overpenetrations against Enemy BBs at Short Range. The Enemy BBs Shells get Stuck in your Citadel Turtleback and thus Count as Full Penetration. Meaning while you get 1 Citadel and 2 Overpens with Gneisenau. The Nagato gets 6 Full Pens on you. You go maybe 15k Damage to him. He however Deals 25k to you..... At this Point the German BBs are Simply the Weakest in the Game. A Skilled Player can make anything work of course. But that wont change that the German BBs are Inferior at almost everything.

Yesterday. Germany had massive Issues. The Error Map basicly had one Giant Red Blob on Germany. People crashing upon joining a Match and then being unable to come back. It was so bad that WG even opened a Topic where People could post to get the Penalties removed they gathered thanks to these problems.

@others. I.ll Answer you guys as well once I am home. But this one Bugs me so I got to do this right away. Yo Mate. Thanks for the Video. Now I really mean no Harm and I dont want to bug you. But allow me to give you some Pointers :) 1. When you Start you have 2 Meaningful Options. A. Take Rockets and go look for DDs to Suicide the Squad into it and Ruin its day as well as Showing it to your Team. B. Take Torpedobombers and take a Scouting Run on the entire Enemy Front. Drop Fighters on the Flank you start as soon as you spot the first BB. Why Torpedobombers? Because they go faster, take more punishment and because they can heal off if you get struck by a flak puff. 2. Your Squadrons Start Regeneration of Planes the moment you have less than Maximum Planes on Deck. So First 3 Squads should always be cycled. Dont use the same Squad twice at the Start. You waste extra Planes that way. 3. Torpedo Bombers during Attack Run go below AA Puffs. And they have long Aiming Time. You just fly straight into the AA puff and waste 2 planes this way. Instead ALWAYS start the Attack Run BEFORE you reach the Black Puffs. This way you can evade them 100%. 4. I see this alot. Pls do not Adjust Attack Direction AFTER you enter into AA Range. Heavy AA is Spawned in a Broadside Line between you and the Enemy Ship. If you Fly Directly towards the Enemy Ship you cross that Line. So your only in the Spawnzone for but Splitseconds. If you get hit its just one or so cloud. You take maybe 2-3k Damage. If however you strafe Diagonal to a Ship you are Flying Parallel to these Lines. Meaning your Spending several Seconds inside the Spawnzone. So your not just much easier to hit but if you get hit you get hit by 4-5 Clouds in a row taking away 5-10k HP and possibly Deleting your Squadron. Always adjust your Attack Direction BEFORE you enter AA Range. Once your inside AA Range always go straight for the Target. Think of your Planes as a Cruiser. Do not Show Broadside to Enemy Ships in Range of your Citadel. Bow in and Attack. Only show your side when you have to. For example during the turn after the Attack. 5. The Engine Boost Refill is Free. So use it. Creating an early Advantage being on the Enemy fast is worth such consumables for it :) 6. When Attacking DDs with Rockets. Aim for their Nose. They are fast and small so they will move nearly half a Ship lentgh before your Rockets reach. Also. After the Attack. Boost Forward and only after that Turn. Otherwise you will end up Overshooting the DD. So. Advice Over. Sorry if this Sounds Arrogant or Overbearing etc. I really mean no harm or offense at all. I just want to give some Advice that might help you out :) -

Just Tried to Play again. But it takes Forever to Connect to the Server. And then when I was Finally on it. I tried to Start a Match and Immediately got Kicked out of the Game again. Dont even know if my Ship entered a Game or not. Hope we get some Extra Time on the Event for this. Second Day now that I cant really Play the Event and thus not Progress because the Server aint Working Correctly. -

Mate is my Catchphrase so stop stealing it :P 1. This Thread is about the AA Rework. The System that was Changed was after all the AA. Not the CVs this time. 2. No. As I said. I merely set out the Situation according to YOUR Logic. To Demonstrate why your wrong with it. Currently the Situation is. That DPS on all Ships has been Nerfed. On Ships which had very high DPS it was Nerfed Strongly and on Ships with low DPS not so Strongly. Most BBs had no good DPS so they didnt get Nerfed pretty Strong. While Cruisers in General had pretty good DPS so they almost all got Nerfed Pretty hard. But some BBs which had good DPS also got Nerfed rather Hard actually. Kremlin for example which has insane DPS values got Hit pretty hard as well. But Heavy AA. The Flak Clouds. Remained Untouched. And thanks to DFAA now Buffing them instead of DPS they basicly received a Mini Buff. Now thing is. BBs by Default have Pretty large amounts of these Flak Clouds. Some BBs even on T6-7 already get quite a few of them. So BBs feel much Stronger AA wise especially when the CV Attacking them doesnt know how to Evade AA Properly. BB DPS however is still for most part Weaker than Cruisers. (Exceptions always exist of course. Like Jean Bart which beats most Cruisers AA.) 3. Thing is its Wrong. BBs did not get Buffed. They Simply got Nerfed less Hard :P As for BBs. As I said Mate. I dont care if BBs should or should not have Stronger AA etc. My Problem is Overpowered CVs right now. How well Classes compared to each other should be able to Deal with Attacks is something we can think about when we can deal with CV Attacks at all again. -

Well. It was a State Agency back in the Day. So it had and still has a Tremendous Head Start over everything else given that when it was made Free Market Business instead they basicly Started with a Full State Financed Grid all over Germany while everyone else basicly had to either Rent their Lines or first Spend Years Building their own Grid.... So this is not Surprising. Funny enough Currently I came into the Game rather Fast. Was something fixed or did I just get Lucky ? Because I dont dare starting a Match xD -

Nun. Ich wurde eben Dumm angemacht. lol Nimms mir nicht Übel. Aber Ich denke mal schon das es das Anrecht des Kunden ist zu erwarten das die System so Funktionieren wie sie sollen ohne das sie Software verwenden müssen um Systeme für die sie Bezahlen zu umgehen. Und wenn das nicht der Fall ist dürfen die Leute sich wohl Aufregen und Beschweren. Und Sorry. Aber wenn Leute meinen sie müssen dann Wand Spielen und sich in den Weg Stellen. Dann dürfen die Leute sich auch nicht Wundern wenn sie übern Haufen gerannt werden. -

1. Mate. This Topic is Feedback on the Current AA Rework. So you would Expect it to make an Opinion on AA in this Update No ??? 2. You do Realize that Continues DPS of AA Cruisers is Generally higher than most BBs but that most BBs have quite Large Numbers of Heavy AA Right. So your Argument is Self Defeating because if your right the ones harder to Bomb would be Battleships as they got way more Heavy AA. 3. Mate this Topic is about the AA Rework. Not about a Specific Ship Class. I could not care less if Ship A AA was Nerfed Harder than Ship B AA. The Problem is AA got Nerfed so Hard that CVs are basicly Godmode and can Bomb whoever they want without any Effort. So what if BB AA was only Nerfed by 10% and Cruiser AA by 40% BB AA was already weak before the Patch so that didnt really change anything. Thing is Cruiser AA in Total was Nerfed into Oblivion. -

I tend to not use VPNs. I might reconsider if it Lasts longer. But in General my Past Experiences with VPN have been rather Negative.... I am not sure I want to Jump on this Cliche of Russian Hackers etc. But the only way this could be an Side Effect. Would be if by some Coincident one of the Hackers doing the DDoS Attack happened to be Attacking from the same IP Range that the WoWs Servers are on and thus ended up getting that whole IP Range Blocked to prevent further Attacks. -

Well then. We are back to AA being Completely useless and only Hitting People if they Fly Straight at the Same Speed Constantly and thus get Hit by Heavy AA. And of course as this means that CVs can mostly Ignore AA again and just Bomb whoever they want without any Problems. We are going right back to Crabstorms and People hating CVs and so on and so on. Now how about we take a Different Approach to the Problem ? Instead of constantly changing the Automatic System up and down which will never make everyone happy. How about we Look at it from the Different Side ? Currently CVs have Insane Accuracy thanks to their Ability to Adjusting their Strike down to the last Seconds. This is not only a Problem for DDs because even with the Fairly Low Damage output from CVs they simply cannot Take Repeated Hits like that. But it also means that Fighting a CV is Insanely Frustrating for most other Ships. Because you know that you wont be able to really do anything about being Hit by it aside from trying to turn and hoping that the CV misses you. But if we Buff AA to Shoot down alot of Planes we will end up in the other Direction again. With less Skilled CVs ot being Happy again because they get Deplaned very fast. So how about this one. Instead of Buffing AA. We Nerf CVs Accuracy and make it more Skill based and with more Interaction of the Targeted Player. Currently an Attack Run Works rather Simple. When the Grey Target Marker is on the Enemy Ship. You Start the Attack Run. The Target marker Turns Yellow and you can Adjust your Course on the Enemy Target. Then the Target marker Turns Green. You can Still Adjust your Course and now you can also Fire your Weapons at the Target or Release your Bombs/Torpedoes at the Target. Now my Proposition is also Extremely Simple. Remove the Ability to Steer the Aircraft as Soon as the Attack Run is Started. Meaning that as Soon as you Pressed the Button to Start the Attack Run. Your Aircraft will Simply go Straight Forward. Thanks to the Yellow Phase. This means that the Enemy Ship will always have a Time Window to actually Dodge Attacks. This Time Window Depending on Aircraft Type is between 4-12 Seconds Long. The Longest Window being for Torpedoes. Which is not so Importand because its mostly Targeting BBs and thus wont really care that much. The Shortest being on Rocket Planes. Which however also are whats usually used against Small Fast Targets. This will make it Especially Hard to Bomb Nimble Ships like DDs. And thus Force CVs to Focus on BBs more. It would be extremely Positive for Surface Ships because they would get a Chance to actually Evade Incoming Bombers. At the same Time however. AA could Stay fairly Weak and not be able to Deny Multiple Attacks from CVs. This might be a way better Option than to keep changing AA up and down constantly pissing off both sides. (mostly the Surface Ship side because mostly AA has been on the useless side...) This will give the Targeted Ship some more Options of Evading the Attack. While also not preventing Attack Chances from the CV too much. It gives way more Control over the Situation to the Player and thus Adds at least a bit of Counterplay in which both sides are actually Involved. Edit: Edited some Typos and Mistakes, Also removed some Salt. -

Was übrigens ein weiterer Hinweis ist das es sich um einen Absichtlichen Block handelt. Denn wenn es ein Techniches Problem wäre. Könnte man ja nicht durch eine andere IP Adresse plötzlich verbinden. -

Nun. Wie du siehst gibt es leute die Sagen das jeder der es nicht Nutzt ein Idiot ist. Ich werde es nicht Nutzen. Kein Vorwurf an dich das du es Vorschlägst. Aber Ich sehe auch nicht ein das hier Leute dumm angemacht werden weil sie eben kein VPN nutzen wollen. -

Sure. Because its not Like that I already Posted Evidence in other Topics that I have absolutely no Trouble Playing the Worst T6 CV in the Game and still Bomb T8 Ships without any Effort. Guys. If you want to Continue this pls feel Free to Read my Posts in the CV Rework Discussion Topic. Because I have already proven these Bullcrab Claims Wrong several Times. Well. I am pretty sure if you got Attacked by People like Elazer, Love and Peace or me. You would Notice. Because no Offense to you. But thats the Thing. Right now Noticing or not doesnt really Matter. You cant do anything about it anyways because the whole Defensive System is Automatic with only Minimal Player Influence. Thats why I am proposing a System where you will Notice Planes and can actually do something about it when you Notice them. -

Stell dich bitte nicht Dümmer als du Bist. Ich sagte das die Nutzung von VPN unter Umständen Illegal sein kann. Dein Auto ist auch nicht Illegal. Aber wenn du es benutzt um damit durch ne Polizei Sperre zu fahren dann sieht das schon ganz anders aus. Auch eine Brechstange ist nicht Illegal. Aber wenn du die zusammen mit ner Maske im Auto liegen hast und das Zufällig bei ner Kontrolle innem Wohngebeit auffällt wo in letzter Zeit häufiger Eingebrochen würde. Dann kannst du dir vieleicht vorstellen das da ein paar Fragen aufkommen. Was meinst du. Nehmen wir das einfach mal Scherzhaft an. Das die Telekom gestern ne Kinderporno Seite geblockt hat. Und das Zufällig die WoWs Server über den selben Adressenraum verbinden. Und jetz fällt jemandem auf jemand der häufiger in diesen Adressenraum verbunden hat über die letzten Monate plötzlich auf einen VPN anbieter verbindet.... Was meinst du wird dann wohl im hintergrund erstmal so Gedacht :) -

Nicht Jeder hat VPN rumliegen oder ist Bereit VPN zu benutzen. Und das Sollte auch Generell nicht Notwendig sein. Falls du es Vergessen hast. VPN is eine Software die dazu genutzt wird Verbote und Blockaden zu Umgehen. Der Einsatz kann unter Umständen sogar Illegal sein. Ich habe das eben im anderen Topic Schon erwähnt. Ein möglicher Grund für diese Störung kann sein das eine IP Range in dieser Richtung Geblockt wurde für Deutschland und das die World of Warships Server davon betroffen sind weil sie zufällig auf der selben Range liegen. Wenn das Geblockte jetz Beispielsweise eine Sharing Seite für Kinderpornos war und ihr alle Fröhlich via VPN eben diesen Block umgeht könnte das zu unangenehmen Missverständnissen Führen. -

I just got Thrown out right upon Clicking the Start Battle Button. Apparently I got Connected to a Battle Anyways. Thus getting a Nice AFK Battle..... Cant even Check if I got a Penalty because I cant Connect anymore..... Aye. Noticed the other Topic a few Minutes Ago. Albeit I will Repeat my Question from that Topic and Ask how this is even Possible. Have absolutely no Problems whatsoever with anything else. The only things not Working is the World of Warships Website and the Game. You guys got a Fight with Telekom about Bandwith or Something ? Because if any of the Connection Points is Faulty we should have Trouble for all Traffic in that Direction not just for 1 Specific Game and its Website. And given that apparently all of Germany is Hit by it thats even more Strange. Because there is quite the Number of Different Entry Points over Germany. They cant Possibly all be Faulty and only for World of Warships. This kind of thing usually only Happens when an IP Range is Banned. Meaning that the only way for a Strange Coincident like this to happen. Would be when Either Side has Banned an IP Range of the other Side. You would not happen to Share an IP Range with some Pirate, Porn or whatever Website that might have ended up on the Banned List ? -

Den Thread zu lesen Hilft mir da nicht Viel. Es bringt mir nichts Theorien von Usern zu Lesen die auf die eigendliche Ursache keinen Einfluss haben. Der einzige Ansprechpartner der hier etwas sagen kann is Wargaming und ggf die Internetprovider die aus irgendeinem Grund nicht zu World of Warships Verbinden. Die Verbindungen zu Testen und Festzustellen das Punkt X nicht Funktioniert hilft mir nicht. Das Ich nicht reinkomme sehe Ich auch selber. Nur wie schon gesagt. Es ist ziemlich Seltsam wenn ein solches Problem nur für World of Warships vorhanden ist. -
