Did a Nice Badge. Alot of these are pretty easy. But there is also alot which could go either way depending on the Players.

He Said Shatter. Not Bounce. On Topic. Unlike Odin which is Complete Trash. I dont see a Need to Buff Pommern right now. 38cm Guns are Sufficient to get Damage on almost anything. And while the Accuracy us Horrible. It does throw alot of Shells out to make up for it. Needless to say. Hydro and Torps give you quite the Extra Punch in a Brawl. And the Secondaries are pretty Decent too. Armor is very Good. And Maneuverability is also Decent. Right now I would dare Claiming that for a Brawl it is the Strongest T9 BB in the Game. Its Fairly Decent on Mudrange too. Only High Range its Pretty Weak. But Sorry. If you try Sniping with a German BB you are doing something Wrong I think.
-
GZ and Saipan got Nerfed. All other T8 CVs got Buffed or Ignored. So no. They didnt overdo anything. They made a Change which does NOTHING positive but made GZ Complete Trash.
-
I did some Testing Today. And the Problem is not Attacking them. Its doing Damage. On Broadsiding DDs you get like 2-3k Damage. On DDs that Angle you get maybe 1k. And a DD actually going Bow in. You get nothing. Not because you Miss. But Because you only Fire 8 Rockets whose Dispersion is Terrible. The only other T8 CV with 8 Rockets is Kaga. But Kaga actually got Buffed. Because now its Dispersion is INSANE. Its Aiming Reticle is 1/4 of the German one. So it will almost always get 4-6 Hits sometimes even more. Meanwhile with GZ you now get 1-2 maybe sometimes a 3rd one if you are really Lucky.
-
So you Like me more now that I am gonna use CVs that can easily kill DDs in a few Strikes ?
-
Huh ??? Guys Guys. Germany is a Nation with a Small Coastline in the North. More than Half of which is bordering the Baltic Sea which is so Small in Width that a Ship cant even move out of Range of Coastal Batteries lol. So What Duties xD German Navy is mostly Coastal Defence and Commerce Raiding. What the Hell should Germany even do with an Aircraft Carrier ? xD
-
Nope that Talk is Accurate. Graf Zeppelin uses Heavy Rockets. Its German ones so they arent Named Tiny Tims of course. But just like Tiny Tims its just a Few Rockets and thus ends up being Heavily Nerfed by this. Shokaku and other CVs are pretty much Unaffected by this. Now for T6 due to lower amount of Rockets it might Result in a Nerf as well. But we usually only care for T8 and above. As for Asking for Buffs. Yep. GZ at this Point is Complete and Utter Trash. Now if they Buff it by Nerfing all other CVs or if they Buff it by giving it back at least some Proper Utility. I dont care. But right now. I am not gonna bother using Graf Zeppelin. Its Complete and Utter Trash.
-
Nope. Dead Serious. GZ DBs are just too Unreliable. Even against BBs you cannot Hit them for Citadels Reliably. And your Max Damage is Tremendously Lower than all other T8 Dive Bomber Squads. Basicly now a Normal Lexington HE Bomb Drop. Has more Damage than the very Rare Double Citadel Hit from a Graf Zeppelin. Just for the Fun of it. Right now. Ryujo Dive Bombers are actually Superior to those of the GZ because they do nearly the same Damage. But they actually Hit unlike the ones of ones of the GZ. That would at this point honestly said be the most Effective Weapon of GZ. Just Saying. But Weser has 4x2x7k AP Bombs with Very Decent Accuracy. Graf Zeppelin has 4x2x5.8k AP Bombs with Horrible Accuracy. Basicly. Weser is Completely Superior to Graf Zeppelin. Ryujo only has only 5.1k Alpha and thus in Theory Lower Damage than GZ. But Funny enough thanks to just much more Accurate they are. They would still be Equal or Superior.

deutsche träger Deutsche Träger = Tod aller Zerstörer?
Sunleader replied to googlebug's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Was zwar immernoch Schlecht ist.

Are the similarities between the Admiral Hipper class and Bismarck class intentional?
Sunleader replied to ItsJustAFleshWound's topic in Age of Armour Warships
1. Uff. No, No and No. 1.1 Aircraft Carriers were actually an Extremely minor Risk to Submarines in the Atlantic. The Reason being that the Space was so Vast that there was just no way to actually Cover an Large enough Area to Find Submarines. If a Submarine was Found by Air Patrol it could Dive and Chance were the Air Patrol would not be able to Find it again. Funny enough. The Liberty Ships which got some Guns were more Dangerous to Submarines than Aircraft Carriers. And Posed a much Bigger Problem. Because it Resulted in Submarines being Forced to use their Extremely Limited Stocks of Torpedoes. And the Biggest Problems for Subs Started once the Enemy got Sonar Technology. Because at this point Escaping after an Attack became Severely Harder. Which lead to Submarines becoming the Hunted rather than the Hunter in most alot of Situations. 1.2 Land Based Aircraft were only a Limited Problem. Because not only did Land Based Aircraft often need a long time to Arrive. But the Kriegsmarine also could maintain their own Fighter Support by staying in Range of their own Aircraft. The Land Based Aircraft therefore only became a Problem pretty late in the War when Germanies Air Forces were Depleted and Overwhelmed with the Allies in most Areas having Air Supremacy. And thus being able to send Bombing Raids as far as into the German Ports without needing to Fear Devastating Losses from German Fighter Defences. But even then. In Open Sea Land Based Aircraft often just needed too long and thus did not Arrive in Time to Find a Target. 1.3 Its not really a Design Flaw. It was a Simple Decision of Prioritizing something. Bismarck was an Extremely Strong Battleship yet could Reach Speeds of a Battlecruiser. Magic doesnt Exist in this World. So anything will always come with a Downside. What Killed Bismarck here was Bad Luck and the Sheer Weight of Numbers. Because this is what Resulted in her getting Hit in this Exact Location where it could actually Hurt her. (As Aircraft Torpedoes were just too weak as to do Damage to the Main Armor) But using the Arrangement you Describe would have actually Killed her in this Scenario Too. Because then she would have been Slower and not Capable of Running away from the British Battleships. Meaning that even without getting an Unlucky hit the British Fleet would have Caught up to her Eventually and Overwhelmed her with Numbers. 2. You can Disagree. But what I described is a Simple Historical Fact. If you want to Contest that you are Free to do so. But no Offense Intended. Your Opinion on this is not Really Relevant to me. 3. Admiral Spee is Irrelevant to Topic. We are Talking about Commerce Raiding in WW2 against an Enemy just off the Shores of Europe. Not about an Squadron trying to Intercept Trade on the other End of the World. Supply was Generally not much of a Problem in WW2. Because once German Ships were out of the Northern Sea and in the Atlantic they could use the Ports in Western France from where it was easy to Reach the British Trade Routes. And the Fact is. That Commerce Raiding actually worked quite Good. As the UK was Starving Massively and the Losses Inflicted to Troops during Transport were Pretty Significant as well. I am not even sure they were Fired. 15cm Guns were not Intended for Fighting Enemy Battleships. Especially not at the Ranges of this Battle. I guess its Possible they were used at the Offchance of causing some Superficial Damage. But still. They are not Intended as Anti Battleship Weapons. So its not really useful to take Data from this.- 24 replies

When a Catapult Fighter is Spawned he needs about 10 Seconds to Actually Deploy. And you have to be in his Range for I think around 3-5 Seconds before the Fighter Actually Attacks you. In this Case. The Catapult Fighter was Launched too Late. So the Bombing Run was already done before the Catapult Bombers were Deployed long enough to get these 3-5 Seconds in Range to actually Trigger them Attacking the Bombers. The CV Spawned Fighters ontop of the Enemy Ship while Flying over. So the Catapult Fighters now Attacked these. After attacking a Target no matter what it is. Fighters will Despawn. So basicly they cancelt each other out. Allowing for further Strikes.
-
Yep
-
Not Really. 1. By going around like that you Basicly Abandon the Game. By the Time you Arrive at the Enemy CVs. The Game will be Pretty much Decided already. Of course. Maybe in 1 out of 1000 Games you might have Luck and Turn the Game here. But thats Super Rare and almost never Worth Trying. 2. The Chances you get the CVs this way are very Low. Because if for example just one of the CVs had been Me. Or someone knowing about the Mechanics as I explained above. They would have moved in opposite Direction of the DD making it next to Impossible for the DD to ever reach them with Torps while Slowly Rocketing the DD to Death. And if really both CVs were Unable to do that. Then ask yourself if Killing these 2 really made much of a Difference. because they likely didnt exactly know how to Play anyways.
-
Nothing New. I am actually often Amazed how many CV Players are Completely and Utterly Incompetent. Still Mate. Did you really move all the way around the Map Border just to Sneak on their CV ? Thats not a very good Strategy for Various Reasons Mate.... Actually. Most of a Destroyers AA often Comes from his Main Battery Guns. DDs Tend to be Equipped with Multi Purpose Guns. So their Main Guns are actually also their AA Guns. So unless they lose their Main Guns they usually wont lose much AA from Strikes. To begin with there is much easier Methods. They could for example just give Ships a Revenge Buff. Meaning when a Ship was Struck by a CV. Its AA Power would be Increased by 100% for the next 90 Seconds. Therefore Forcing the CV to either Take Immense Losses if he Attacks the Same Target again. Or Attack a Different Target immediately.

Deutsche Flugzeugträger: Übersicht
Sunleader replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News und Ankündigungen
2. Die Ersten 10 Skillpunkte sind Ok. Das ist das Standard CV Setup. ABER Die 19 Punkte Empfehlung is Schlecht. Auch Adrenaline Rausch is Mumpitz. Also Ok. Auch wenn die guten CV Spieler es Seltener Nutzen. Und Stattdessen eher Concealment oder die Extra Sekundär Reichweite nehmen. Oder aber kleinere Zusatzskills einpacken. 3. Ein Upgrade is auch echt Komisch... Benutzt kein Torpedo Upgrade. Wenn die Torps Schneller werden Erhöht sich die Minimal Distance bevor sie Scharf Schalten. Es bringt also nix. Gibt also keinerlei Vorteil. Strategie für Deutsche CV is Einfach. Ihr seid Nutzlos gegen DDs. Also Spotted ihr sie. Setzt nen Fighter drauf.

Sigh... I am not sure why I bother Spending this much Time for this kind of thing. But here we Go. The Easy Guide "How to use your own Detection Warnings as a CV to Spot others regardless of their own Concealment" Using Spoiler so the Post doesnt cover the whole Page.... So Hope that Guide Helps Explaining just why You should not be Surprised by an Enemy DD in Open Water. And why. If you get Surprised by one. That is Completely Your Fault because you didnt Pay Attention to the Obvious Warnings.

CVs can put Holes into pretty much anything Mate. But thats not the Point. As I said. The Point of my List is to use Ships that want to Kill Planes. If you want CVs to Leave you alone then Take Cheshire and Stay in the Rear Mate. Because indeed Cheshire with its Healing Party and AA will not be Attacked by CVs most of the Time. Thing is. You also wont have any use to your Team because your Guns just dont Hurt anyone at Higher Range. Effectively you wont be Attacked by CVs most of the Time because most CVs will Simply Consider you a Low Value Target that can be Ignored. Cleveland comes with Radar and Hydro. As well as alot of Spamming Capabilities. Its a Target that once it Occupies an Area just cannot be Ignored. Forcing the CV to go for it. Hence its AA will actually get Planes to Kill. And thats the Thing. I made this List based on me Playing the CV. My Answer to a Cheshire is Simple. Its Irrelevant and not a Threat. So I will just Ignore it. Why would I bother with a Low Value Target that has Little Impact on the Match and would Kill Planes with its Decent AA and on top take Long to Kill thanks to Heal ? Now my Answer to Cleveland in most cases is. Crab. This thing is Dangerous. Its Blocking our DDs. Protecting the Caps. And its Guns are Grilling any of my Allied Ships trying to Push in there. I have to Kill it even tough it will Cost me alot of Planes.
-
1. These Numbers are Completely Wrong lol.... I.ll Post Links to the Ships in Point 2. so you can get Accurate Values. 2. Cheshire is Marginally Better on Long Range AA. 168 instead of 108 DPS Its Equal on Medium Range AA. And Cleveland Actually is Stronger on Closerange AA. https://wowsft.com/ship?index=PASC208&modules=1221&upgrades=000000&commander=PCW001&consumables=1111&pos=0 https://wowsft.com/ship?index=PBSC508&modules=11111&upgrades=000000&commander=PCW001&consumables=111&pos=0 But the Reason I posted Cleveland instead of Cheshire is not the Pure DPS Values. Its the Consumables and General Usability of the Ship. Cheshire basicly has to Sacrifice everything to be doing AA Duty. And its Few Guns with Abysmal Damage Output are already not a very Great Asset to Play as an Escort Cruiser in the Rear Line. Not Only does Cheshire need to Sacrifice Hydro to use the Def AA Consumable which is Necessary if you want to be any Serious Deterrent for an Aircraft Carrier to Attack in your Range. But Cheshire also gets only 3 uses instead of 4 like Cleveland. Meaning it has less Utility in the long Run. 3. Cheshire is more usable as a Combat Cruiser working at Midrange. Which is just not a Good Position for Anti Air Duty. And if you cant really Play the Ship in a Useful Way doing AA Duty. Then its not a Good Ship for doing AA in my Eyes :)

Are the similarities between the Admiral Hipper class and Bismarck class intentional?
Sunleader replied to ItsJustAFleshWound's topic in Age of Armour Warships
Not sure what you want from me. 1. Yes the Reason that Germany was neither Focused nor Prepared to Fight Aircraft Carriers was that most during this Time did not Consider Aircraft a Serious Threat. Thanks for the News. Never Questioned that. I merely Pointed out that Germany during this Time was not Focusing its Ships on Anti Air Protection. 2. And Yes. Indeed Raeder (A German High Ranking Admiral) was one of the Reasons why Germany Pushed for using Surface Ships in Convoy Raiding. However. No. Raeder doing that out of Fear that the Surface Ship would be Scrapped and thus doing this out of Personal Preference is only a Speculation. One of Many in the Decision making here. Raeder was a Nazi Admiral but anyone constantly thinking that everyone with an Ideology that is not Matching his own would be Stupid is someone who is in Fact not the Smartest Person himself. Because this kind of Underestimation of your Rivals and Enemies is exactly what Lead to Germany Steamrolling Europe in the First Years of the War. The Surface Ships especially Prinz Eugen and Graf Spee actually did extremely Succesful in their Commerce Raiding Duties. And the North Sea Fleets Raiding the Northern Ice Seas did very Good as well in Raiding Supplies Intended for the Soviets. The Suggestions to use Surface Ships in Commerce Raiding was actually pretty Valid until Aircraft Carriers came into the Mix. Because Surface to Surface Ships were Dependent on Range and could never hope to Cover the Gigantic Oceans. So this Planning was Completely Valid and actually Worked out Pretty Well in the Beginning and Partially still Worked even later on. And Yes. Considerations by the Leadership. Especially one Special Corporal which Somehow tought he became a General due to his Ability to Talk Crab into People was pretty Annoyed and had alot of very Absurd Ideas during this Time. But if you consider every Single Funny Idea of Funny Mustache Man a Serious Action then you would never get anywhere cause you would end up with an very erratic and daily Changing Doctrine. Which was in Reality not the Case. (Thanks to the Fact that Germany had a Pretty Decent High Command Staff which while clearly hindered by Funny Mustachio still managed to Run things properly most of the Time) Just that none of this Matters. Because I merely Explained the Fact that this was Germanies Doctrine. If You want to Explain the Detailed Reasons go ahead. But I didnt see that Necessary lol And lol Yes. In Fact this Worked Greatly for Graf Spee Graf Spee kept Raiding the Atlantic for quite some Time. Wrecking Havoc and Instilling Fear and Terror. Forcing the Enemy to Deploy Sizable Escorts and Forces against One Single German Ship. It Sunk 9 Ships before it was Sunk itself. Destroying Enemy Value nearly 3 times what it Cost itself. And after its Rampage the Allies were Terrified of the Prospect of Allowing any other German Ships into the Atlantic to do the Same or Possibly even Worse. Not Lastly because the Allies were more than Aware that Graf Spee might not have been catched at all if not for some Luck being Involved. In Fact one Big Reason that Convoy Raiding in the Atlantic was moved almost Entirely over to Submarines. Was that the Allies at this point where so Incredible Paranoid about German Surface Ships reaching their Convoy Routes and being able to Raid them in the Open Ocean where Finding them was incredible Difficult. And thus effectively Tracked all German Ships and kept them Incredible Covered to Prevent under any Circumstances that one of these Ships could Break out and Wreack Havoc again. It was also this Fear which caused the British to Expend Hundreds of Bombers Sorties onto German Ports to Somehow Destroy Tirpitz and thus would not be able to Possibly Achieve what Bismarck Failed to Do.- 24 replies

Penalty for Ships dying in the first 2-3 minutes
Sunleader replied to _Ghostship_'s topic in General Discussion
Pls Read the whole thing first. I stated Several Times that you can Influence the Result of a Match. Just that its Far less than most People (like you) claim. And that deviations going 5-10% away from Center can be purely Luck or Misfortune. Especially when Playing Solo. I usually assume that as a REALLY Good Player. Solo 90% of your Games are Decided by Luck. Only 10% You are at the Wheel. Double Div its 75% and Triple Div its 60% There might be Super Rare Super Unicums which can reach even higher Influence. Especially as a CV due to how Unbalanced the Class is. But these are Exceptions and very Rare. Vast Majority of just Good Players has even less Influence. And the Big Mass of Average and Below Players basicly has almost no Influence.... -
I just Hope they didnt Pull a Joke like the 19mm Foreard Citadel Plate on Odin which gives it a Yamato Cheek for easy Citadels in a Brawl.... 38cm Guns is not what I hoped for. But whatever.
-
He isnt Sarcastic. He is Simply said Right. You CV usually has a Concealment between 10-15km That means if ANY Hostile Ship Enters this Range and Sees You. Then you get a Big Fat Warning Flash telling you "Your CV has been Detected by an Enemy Ship. There must be an Enemy within your Concealment Range" And since you are a CV. Finding this Enemy is Generally an Extremely Easy Task. If you Sit behind an Island and thus you wont be Spotted by the Enemy Ship. Then it should become Obvious that upon Starting Planes. Your Planes are Detected. Your Planes got a 8-10km Concealment. So if your Planes are Detected when they Take Off or short after. Then there is an Enemy Ship within that Range. If you get Surprised. Then this is Purely down to your own Neglience :)
-
Now this is Impossible to Tell. Because Circumstances Change much between Tiers. However. Some Ships Stick out as being Ships that can Shoot down Planes. T3 Katori thanks to having a Catapult Fighter on T3 as well as a Decent AA is one Example. T4 Yubari thanks to Def AA and good Handling. On T5 the Texas is an AA Monster and as a DD the Hill can be tuned into a Real Hunter of Planes as well. On T6 against Potato CVs the Bayern will Rock thanks to good Heavy AA. Otherwise Izmael for Good DPS AA. T7 Gneisenau against Potatoes and Helena against CVs in General will take down alot of Planes. T8 Cleveland.... T9 Iowa and Missoury just Love Aircraft and can actually take a Beating. Albeit a Neptune thanks to Smoke can also do pretty nicely. T10 Minotaur, Worcester, Halland, Montana and the Russian Cruisers thanks 7km AA Range with Decent AA. Now Pls note this is Purely about the Ability to Kill Planes and making yourself Expensive. None of these Ships is really Capable of Protecting you from Air Attacks. And most of them are not even Particular Bad Targets for a CV. But they do Shoot down Planes. If you actually want to have a Ship which can Fight CVs. The Better Choice is often to use British DDs as they can just keep Smoking up Constantly and thus make the CV go for someone else. Or Italian Cruisers which Starting at T9 come with a Heal and from the get go have Smoke while moving making them an Annoying Target for a CV to kill cause it takes very Long. Of course DDs like the Kidd. Which has a Heal and Smoke and therefore can really Waste alot of Time of a CV are also good Choices. In General tough. If the CV has some Skill you are Honestly Said Ramming a Mammoth Tree with a Car. Basicly the best you can do is Waste his Time at your Expense. And hope the CV takes you as his Sacrifice for not stopping your Team from maybe Winning.

Well Mate. :) You are the one who Posted the Statistics. Currently there is 2 Players in the 10k Games Bracket which Reach 76% :) I have no Doubt that you can Cheese alot out of this. The Biggest thing you can do. Is to use a Triple Division. Because that way you are not 1/12 but 1/4 Players which is Guaranteed on your Team to not be Potato. Which of Course gives the Random Chance a Bias towards your Team because you have a lower Chance to get Potatoes. Which you did and which is how you got over 80% ;) And it wont change you are actually still Relying alot on Chance. You are just Improving your Chances.
