  1. Really? Look where the torps begin their wet run, look at the distance between the beach and the ship. The CV player, gaming the game, dropped on the island. Things like this, togheter with the CV "border hugging" and the "bat" flying are so pathetic. C'mon WG, fix these bugs!
  2. As you can see I was sailing in that channel with not much room to maneuver. When I saw the TB I steered south to get close to the island. At 20+ kts, with the slow turn rate of a BB, everybody knows how easy it is to run aground, I tried to get as close as I could but in the meantime the TB have already dropped their fishes in that narrow space. A couple of days ago I observed a DD sunk by TB dropping in maybe 200-300mt of water at the base of a vertical cliff. This means that the drop engine can make the bomb/torps travel through the mountains. Someone could say: "AA can do the same!!". Well, lets hope WG will fix both!
  3. I do know it is an arcade game, like WoT. However, while I like it very much, there are a few things that, IMO, are ruining my fun: super AA, planes flying like bats, torpedo bomber drop model, 10Km DD' torpedoes and torpedo spotting distances. I'm reading a lot of players negative comments about these things. Maybe, again maybe, WG should loook better into it before the official release.
  4. No problem. Fix the AA as well. I dont care about the super-AA button too. But find a solution to these weird drops and flight models.
  5. WoW! A Premium Tier X .... let the whines begin ....

Didnt try to launch planes near mountain so cannot comment part about taking off Dont know about landing but I have seen many squadrons taking off into mountains. With the CV beached. Leonadios, on 09 September 2015 - 04:57 PM, said: Torpedoes can't be dropped on land. Notice how the OP doesn't have his rudder all the way to starboard, indicating that he didn't see them coming and didn't begin his turn soon enough. Also notice how he hasn't dropped his speed to increase turn time and avoid the front torpedo. Also notice how he hasn't control clicked on the planes to focus his AA fire. People complain about torpedoes yet don't take proper precautions to dodge them. Even still, he's only going to get hit by 2, possibly 3 (12-18k damage). Actually, I saw them coming. I could not turn into them becouse there was the island. I tried to get close to the island but .... it was not close enough. The UFO-Bat planes could drop between me and the beach .... BTW, I can complain against UFO-planes and UFO-torpedo as much as I want. No matter how many CV whores, who game the game, are defending these bugs.
  7. Anyway, there is something weird and wrong in all this. Look at the torp on the right. Did it have its aerial run over the woods/beach? How can it be possible? The time/distance/speed model of the game allows these things. Add that the TB drop almost vertically and voilà ... you can game the game.
  8. Actually, plane can take off and land on CV through the mountains. Judging from the picture, they probably can drop torps on land as well. Note that the torps hit the ship. In other words, they were already armed. Can you believe it? A warship getting close to an island trying to get some shelter from torpedo bombers actually can find herself in a worst situation: the bomber drops on the land and the ship has no time at all to avoid them. This is probably the worst bug of the game, at least for me.

    wows released sept 17th

I have about 2.000.000 XP in WoT. You can imagine what I'd do here with them. See what happened with the Tirpitz? Can you imagine the ultra whine for hundreds of so called unskilled player diving here with millions of XP to use and get very high Tier warships?

So the game is "Ready" for release

No mistake, what you call big clashes can be considered skirmishes if compared to what happened in the Pacific theatre. I read Giorgerini, Bagnasco, Sadkovich and Massignani. So I know what I'm talking about. And, please, cool down.

So the game is "Ready" for release

RN and Regia Marina almost never clashed. The RN and the RM were buzy keeping the supply lines, respectively of Malta and Libya, open. Both navies were too scared (or without fuel) to fight each other in what we can call a decent battle.
  12. Yep, I'm enjoing epic gunfights without those annoying ballistic missiles armed bats.
  13. Thank God there are some games without CVs. No one had problems spotting enemies. You are not blind without CVs. Are you?

    LAngley Fighter problem.

Yep, the actual click and point system for fighters is pretty silly. When you send a fighter squadron to a point on the map they should arrive there and CAP the area. Most important, they should engage any enemy in their visual range at the destination point and on their path as well. Without any other order. I guess WG lacks some good (aircraft combat simulation) designer/programmer. I'm an air combat history (and simulations) enthusiast and I'm horrified looking at the aircraft group loadouts on the CVs. Fantasy flight and weapon models, biplanes on 1943 CV's ....

    LAngley Fighter problem.

Uhm, try them. I seldom lost a fighter fight with the Langley with the 2nd and 3rd aircraft skills.

Does your Captain has the right skills (i.e. the Aircraft ones?)

Why no F6F Hellcats on USN CV's?

Auzor_S, on 05 September 2015 - 09:58 AM, said: the game works with each fighter type being an upgrade from the previous. Okay, maybe Corsairs performed better at altitude, but how would you represent such differences in game? Maybe there will be a sort of premium carrier with hellcats as planes, stats same as the Corsairs? Yep, probably this ^ Oh, I forgot to mention that my next CV, the Independence, had mainly F6F Hellcats and TBM Avenger onboard. In WoWS she has Boeing F4B and F3F old biplane fighters. Who on earth did the tech tree research at WG?
  18. I'm grinding the US CV tree and I noted that on the Tier VIII Lexington the upgrade brings from the F4F Wildcat directly to the F4U Corsair. I see the Hellcat files in the res folder but .... actually why no F6F Hellcats available on CV's?
  19. Gatt

    CV aircrafts T10 inbalanced

The aircraft component of the CV would deserve a little more love and work from developers. In the Lexington you jump from the Wildcat directly to the Corsair. No F6F available on USN CV's. And lets dont talk about flight models and weapon models. All aircraft fly and drop weapons like UFO and/or Tie Fighters. I remember 1942: Pacific Air War from Microprose (Yes, I'm old). Was it early 1994? The Commander mode was better than WoWS one

    Today

Yesterday I lost 7 battles in a row with my New York. Then I gave up. Never, ever, happens with my Murmansk.
  21. I cant believe that the alleged lack of info is due to translation to 5 or 6 different languages. It is too dumb. They should give info ASAP in english and THEN, and only then, in other euro languages. Nhaa, I cant believe it.

Manual Torp Drops should Go !

This is not true and not fair to say. I'm just out of a battle with my Kongo. We were only me (with 4 kills), 2 friend CV (with no planes left) against 1 BB and two CV (with planes). Obviously I had to kill the BB first, while the two CV were manually torpedoing me. Even sandwiching me with two squadrons. I eventually killed the last BB but in that situation (ended in a draw), how can you evade torps turning into them if you are fully engaged against ships?

American CV's - No tears from us

Well, I'm very new at CV playing, but it seems very fun to annihilate those IJN torpedo bombers spamming with two squadrons of USN fighters operating togheter. I dont like to get torpedo-ed by UFO planes and I dont like to use torpedo bombers (as with arty in WoT). Different game? Not at all. Combat Air Patrols and Fighter Sweeps have always been important duties for CV fighter groups. During the last game not even an enemy torpedo or dive bomber has crossed the center of the map. And BTW, yes, CV mainly fought each other in real life.
