Are we even playing the same game ? Wargaming wants to fix "sniping BBs" by making them MORE vulnerable ? We are talking about that majority of BB players who turn away at the first sign of danger, hugging the map borders all game long and running scared at the first scratch to their paint. Here's what's gonna happen: BB players will be even more scared and reluctant to get into each others range. While at the same time being even more eager to shoot at stuff which is less dangerous, namely cruisers.

The most unfun aspect for me personally is that players who want to brawl cannot get into that 6-10km Goldilocks zone, if their OWN (!!) team does not want it. If you charge off alone or in a small team you will die, your own team will be happy about the free tanking and huddle far behind you to take long range potshots at the other players. At the same time the other team will always turn away from you and slowly plink you to death with torps, fires and BB hits. If BBs were actually encouraged to brawl within their secondary range, there would be no need to nerf them, since they would spend most of their time trying to annihilate each other with big, short range hits.

"BBs being less tanky will certainly lead to more exciting battles and close range engagements." ...said no one ever. Enjoy Snipefest 2.0

The bow armor nerf sucks. It's like saying:

Díd they show RN cruisers ?

Will the RN cruiser make high tier battles worse?

Star shells - each ship should carry one salvo worth of star shells to illuminate (negate) a smoke area. -

What comes back to bite them in the [edited]is the power creep and the continued use of poor gameplay mechanics. 0 damage hits (not ricochets) to a ship was always a bad mechanic. So was offensive smoke, stealth fire in bright daylight, uncontrollable fires, lack of radar and only torpedoes able to cause flooding....and lots of other stuff. All the unaddressed issues are hurting RN cruisers now, since the lack of clearly defined roles combined with a huge RNG element is now out of hand. -

Well sacrificing the last shreds of realism to turn this into a "Cast magic bullet" MOBA is a horrible idea and it would drive away those players who enjoy the sim aspect. Change the ship class ratio by side, maybe add maps with shallow water areas that BBs can't enter. Think up other ways to enhance such gameplay. But it would be utter nonsense to have magic 6" shells which do high damage to BBs and low damage to CAs, CLs. -

I think the problem is mostly how the game works and how ship classes can find their historical roles and missions. One solution would be to adapt a more "Task Force" like class dispersion in the match maker. Less BBs and more cruisers and DDs per side. But this brings us back to the old problem of "torpedo soup" and it might slow down match-making for BB players. -

If they do that then we would move directly into the genre of RPGs. Let's add green, blue and purple modules next. "Legendary Torpedo launcher of BB Slaying: add 20% damage if target is of BB race" "Holy 6" shells of Armor Shredding". And other nonsense.... -
Will the RN cruiser make high tier battles worse?
Panzerblitz replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
Well, personally I think that the whole Smoke Meta should not be encouraged and it's a bad mechanic to build a game around. I said it in past posts and I believe that smoke is supposed to be a defensive consumable to break Line of sight, instead if has become the most important and powerful offensive consumable, which often decides the battle along one lane. It's the same as in World of Tanks, where the hive mind and Borg spotting leads to unrealistic gameplay. And it's the same here, someone sitting in smoke should not be able to see other ships by the way of collective spotting. At best you should get a marker with an approximate position. That the RN light cruiser branch is encouraging a mechanic which is probably the most unrealistic aspect of a naval warfare game, is kinda beyond me. When they release the branch I will definitely abuse the heck out of it. -
Derpitz+Bismart - Do their Secondarys act the same?
Panzerblitz replied to Crusherheads's topic in General Discussion
The secondary build Bismarck is one of the most interesting and engaging ships to play atm and I wish BB gameplay would generally move into that direction instead of the dumb "stay max range and snipe" meta. It's a good ship, which encourages aggressive gameplay, but it's farm from being OP and the only players who whine about it, are those who refuse to adapt their tactics or read about a ship's capabilities. And if you skip those steps you will get punished in the game. -
Murmansk or Molotov - Which is the best credit farmer?
Panzerblitz replied to _x_Acheron_x_'s topic in Archive
It still has good enough range for it's tier. -
Murmansk or Molotov - Which is the best credit farmer?
Panzerblitz replied to _x_Acheron_x_'s topic in Archive
Both are good ships, but for different reasons. Molotov is a very vulnerable glass cannon, which gets you lots and lots of citadel hits when a cruiser presents itself. Murmansk is a long range harasser and fire starter, that will constantly gnaw at a BBs hp pool, while the BB can do little about it. -
Is camping starting to poison lower tiers?
Panzerblitz replied to thestaggy's topic in General Discussion
It's the same nonsense why we see an increase in low tier BBs trying to snipe from max range with their shotgun spread. -
So, our Community Managers? Did SerB eat them -or at least their hands used for typing- all for breakfast?

Gneisenau - Einschlag ! Quick Impression
Panzerblitz replied to Easyway's topic in General Discussion
What's that supposed to mean ? It historically had 3 turrets. Did you think they would stick "extra" turrets on historical ships just for fun ? -
Welcome to my world...top is win rate, below is personal rating and 3rd line is average damage. Trying to carry my teams, but they are breaking my back.

Finally an end to the whining.

Have anyone seen anything like this victory?
Panzerblitz replied to WarburtonLee's topic in General Discussion
This happens a lot in high tier games when you get two teams which are afraid of each other. The game then becomes a fleet maneuvering sim, where both sides try to evade each other to the best of their abilities. Ultimately there are few losses and one side wins by points.- 19 replies

Erwachsene sind hier wohl keine mehr. Höchstens große Kinder. "Mamaaa, Mamaaa...ich will ein Eis..." "Nein Kevin, erst in 3 Tagen..." "Mamaaa, Mamaaa....du bis eine inkompetente Schlampe...." *Kevin wirft sich auf den Boden und heult..."

It would completely suck for us normals if it was a reward ship. With my job and studies I usually can't meet the set time of most events.
-
Carrot and stick. If you provide the right rewards you should be able to lure players into different playstyles. Also they don't know what they are missing - short range BB knivefights are some of the most fun aspects in the game and also look glorious with all that gunfire.
-
I recently played some lower tier again and I noticed that fresh players already adopt the long-range meta at the lowest level. Wyomings staying at max range and shotgunning all over the place. Wargaming really needs to find a way to discourage this.

Anyone concerned about War Thunder Naval Battles?
Panzerblitz replied to 66Schwifty's topic in Off-Topic
I actually played that other PT boat game back in 2009/10. If the gameplay is roughly the same then this will be the worst thing ever. Combat against other PT boats consisted mostly of circling each other and pew-pewing away with your machineguns until one died. I think it had a hp bar instead of a realistic damage model though. The best part were the torp runs against capital ships, as far as I remember the biggest ship you could torp was a heavy cruiser, but even they looked HUGE compared to your tiny boat. Uninstalled after 2-3 hours.
