Premium shop: Mikhail Kutuzov again for sale
Panzerblitz replied to JapLance's topic in General Discussion
Bleh, already got mine the last time. I was hoping for some info about the Sov cruiser tree. -
wargaming doing so carrier sniping disappears from the game
Panzerblitz replied to U156dasboot's topic in General Discussion
Honestly the best feature would be to allow players to fully customize their plane loadout. If you look at CVs in the harbor, you see that squadrons have the same slot system as other modules. Why not unlock that and finally grant players the freedom to decide on their own what kind of deck they want to run. -
I still managed to hold off from buying it. I wanna see some of them in action (and get some hits in) before I make the leap. The thing looks like one giant, floating citadel.
-
Well, "thank" you. Now I gotta buy it cause of my collection habbit.

I saw some gameplay videos about this ship and it leaves me more than unimpressed. A huge CL with 4x3 6" guns and 14.9km range at tier 8 ? Good luck with that. Also it's 60€ and bundled with doubloons and stuff I don't want. Shame on you Wargaming.

Carriers are OP, Battleships are OP, Cruisers are OP, Destroyers are OP
Panzerblitz replied to Ectar_'s topic in General Discussion
This would have been my 3x game too. Calculate the win plus the 3x bonus and we are far over 10k. It's complete nonsense that individual great games can be ruined by teams who refuse to show any effort. This is the big downside of Wargaming mmos, the way the reward system works everyone can get into the desired plane/tank/ship, as long as you invest enough time. At the same time individual effort is punished because no matter how good you are, you are always at the mercy of the matchmaker and the effort of your team. I had this happen in WoT, WoWP and now in WoWS and it's infuriating. -

The way the reward system works is simple [edited]. -
How would you describe the launch of WoW?
Panzerblitz replied to ajb13's topic in General Discussion
How do I phonetically describe the noise of a fart leaving a wet paper bag ? -
Most spectacular release of all times!

I'm literally shaking with excitement in my computer chair. I think I will rather go outside and enjoy the beautiful late summer weather. -
Do NOT Buy the "Special Offer".
Panzerblitz replied to Wischmob_von_Eimer's topic in General Discussion
This is beyond stupid, a launch without any special offers like the Warspite or a big sale. Not even a patch, any content or events (outside of money grabbing Twitch streamers). -
This is from August 22nd

They announced a few weeks ago that once they complete the British tank line they will focus on the navy again.
-
Only playing this until War Thunder does ships next year. And they will do it properly like they did planes and tanks.

What would have been your "Launch Day" offers?
Panzerblitz replied to Sybeck's topic in General Discussion
At least put the Warspite back in the shop or add some special offers. Cause this "launch" currently feels very underwhelming. -
Feedback after 10 rounds with Tirpitz

You mean broken in a good way. And this was a shitty draw.... -
Which premium battleship should i buy?
Panzerblitz replied to Dylizanns's topic in General Discussion
Let me convince you to get the Tirpitz: -
That's it, I'm never using AP again.

Never apply logic in a Wargaming mmo. -
Bismarck class ingame dispersion (Horrible!)
Panzerblitz replied to KMS_Tirpitz's topic in Battleships
Duuuuude.......you said "the Bismarck". If you had always said "the Bismarck class" then things would have been clear and I wouldn't have had to go through my books to nitpick about this. That the class later on had blind fire capability is well known, I thought you meant the Bismarck in 41. -
Bismarck class ingame dispersion (Horrible!)
Panzerblitz replied to KMS_Tirpitz's topic in Battleships
CombinedFleet is a lazy quote, I will give you that. Let's get serious: FromTechnical and Military Imperatives: A Radar History of World War 2, L Brown, January 1, 1999 Said Dave Saxton himself in 2011:: http://www.kbismarck.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3910 When it comes to game play it would probably be best to make later FuMo models available to the Bismarck in the regular tree. Why Wargaming would give the Tirpitz an early model with inferior accuracy is beyond me. -
Bismarck class ingame dispersion (Horrible!)
Panzerblitz replied to KMS_Tirpitz's topic in Battleships
If someone is complaining about the Bismarck's lack of accuracy then he should keep in mind that if the North Carolina or Iowa had their historical, blind-fire radar there would be rivers of Wehraboo tears. Also the Bismarck never had full RPC (elevation + training), but only elevation RPC, CombinedFleet sums it up nicely: Conclusions taken from: "The Evolution of Battleship Gunnery in the U.S. Navy, 1920-1945" by W.J. Dear developers I started playing carriers during the 2nd beta weekend, after that during alpha and now in closed beta. Here are a few of my thoughts. Carriers start out fun with the Langley and Independence and the fun peaks around the time you get the Saipan. You actually feel useful in these games and able to help your team. The strikes you launch have an actual impact if carried out well. At the same time you are very vulnerable and have to make sure to follow your fleet, so that no lone DD can get behind the lines and blow you up. This changes massively with the Ranger and Lexington. AA takes a giant leap from tier V to tier VI. You now have more planes, but you also lose them at a much higher rate and cruisers can completely ruin your attack runs. You have to be very careful about target selection otherwise you risk losing at least half your strike force. The problem here is time - a carrier can only send out so many strikes per game and you gotta make them count, during the course of an average tier 8 game you won't do much more than 4-5 strikes maximum. So if you miss one of your runs you already have lost 20-25% of your potential damage. It simply takes too long to launch and recover planes, recently I have found myself alt-tabbing while waiting for my planes to come back and reload, so that I can read this forum. CV gameplay needs to become more active, spending half a round waiting is simply no fun.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Panzerblitz replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
35 torps and 7 bombs to take out 2 Amagis, a Nagato and a Fuso, it was a good day. -
I would not theory-craft too much. Because when the chips are down then WoWS is just as much of a "hard factors" sim as WoT. With hard factors I mean: guns, armor, engine. The scope of the game just does not encompass things like fuse sensitivity, crew training, optics, radar, radio, equipment reliability or ergonomics.
