The hidden point here is that the team who works together even a bit, will always win against one that doesn't at all. Any class can pile up, and steam-roll the other team if they are not prepared for it This game in fact, is a glorified version of rock-paper-scissors, if you are getting owned by CVS , blame potato CA capains, if it doesn't help - play CA's yourself. Problem solved really. The biggest problem remains - CV's are simply not rewarded enough, so they are forced into constrains that are damaging the game experience in general. Give them more rewards - they will experiment more - there will be more CV - CA will emerge to counter CVS - BBS will emerge to counter CA's the things will eventually balance out themselves

Hi guy, Valid points in theory, in practice - not so much. I had games where I was in CV (i main dd's tho), tier 5, loaded exclusively with fighter planes, a team mate who had torpedo bomber load-out (also tier 5), vs 2x tier 5 CVS that both had purely fighter plane load-outs (none of us were in divisions ). I managed to protect my team mates torpedo bombers, and at the end i pretty much killed all of enemy planes, got the clear skies medal. And I had games where I had complete torpedo bomber loadouts, and enemy CV's hunting my planes with their fighter load-outs, I put my planes on follow on our strongest cruisers, and asked them to activate their skill if enemy planes come near, effectively rendering them useless and waiting for opportunity to strike enemy ships. Also had games where I was the only CV on the field, and packing nothing but fighter planes, so nothing for me to do, or wasn't there? I sacrificed planes to spot and perma-follow enemy dd's, rendering their early positioning advantages practically useless, I used my planes to give vision for long range artillery BBS like the yamato, like the nagato, like the fuso, whom appreciated me dearly through the entire game, I used my planes as scouts and relayed every single enemy position to my team, effectively winning the game with the power of pure map control. Most people miss the point, that in order to play CV's well, first of all you have to be a great RTS player in heart. Fact: give CV to a korean SC2 player with 350 APM (actions per minute), and he will excuse my french - [edited]you up like you wouldn't believe, you will always be spoted, your bbs will get blown up by shells coming from nowhere, your dds will suffer, your team and you - will suffer, and that's from a defensively built CV. The point I'm trying to make is, CV's can do more then just bomb, and more than just click enemy planes. The biggest problem is - there are no rewards, or encouragement to do any of those things what so ever. No dmg , no exp, no money = wasted time. Even for obliterating 60 planes u wont make as much money or exp who yolo'ed early in the game, crashed into enemy ship sinking them both. And that's where the main problem comes from. CV captains should get exp for spotting, damage assisting, plane hunting (not even gonna mention bombing for obvious reasons), only then will lower tiered CV's figure out how to outplay higher tiered CV's , it can be done, you have so many resources on the field, (including your teammates) you just need to have enough finger clicks per minute to be litteraly all over the map. The key is getting into the mind set that you are playing an RTS game when you jump into your CVS, and you should be controlling the zerg swarm (or at least have the mindset of that) Captains who can do that will thrive, captains who cant will cry on the forums. So wall-o-text in short, if you want to balance CV's, give them rewards for the actions that are not obvious, and then it wont feel that they are playing their own game all the time

Smoke screen nerf - direct nerf to american DD's?
MassiveDYT replied to MassiveDYT's topic in General Discussion
Grinded up to Gearing without realizing that, which is funny, I just assumed WOT tactics as i played WOT since the beginning of time on purple levels. Which ironicaly seems that it was healthy to adopt those tactics early, considering the new changes. And I had immense success with USN dds, now just as before so alls well that ends well -
Smoke screen nerf - direct nerf to american DD's?
MassiveDYT replied to MassiveDYT's topic in General Discussion
I hope this thread didn't come across as one of those personally I have no issues at all with this, I honestly just assumed firing from smoke as a DD is like firing from bush as a light in WOT, so I never used that tactic anyway, so this barely changed my gameplay style -
Smoke screen nerf - direct nerf to american DD's?
MassiveDYT replied to MassiveDYT's topic in General Discussion
How did you manage to do that? Firing gun removes makes you visible immediately even in the middle of the smoke ring o,o And smoke still stays for a long time while deployed, the change was to lenght of the casting the smoke, not after its deployed -
Smoke screen nerf - direct nerf to american DD's?
MassiveDYT replied to MassiveDYT's topic in General Discussion
I honestly realized the explanation just by talking about it, its a classification move. USN DD's are incredible at slaughtering other DD's, especially Japanese ones (Tier 10 Shimakaze vs Tier 7 Sims? Might as well be newborn baby vs a swarm of killer bees, same outcome, the shimkaze will never survive the engagement) So if you use this perspective, and think that ok, so now japs are torpedo specialists, assassins basically, and USN dds are designed to make their life misserable , not to torp enemy ships, and should use torps only as the act of last resort Makes sense, case closed, so should be the thread, thank you all for input -
Smoke screen nerf - direct nerf to american DD's?
MassiveDYT replied to MassiveDYT's topic in General Discussion
I do know that only dd's were effected, and as fun as it was exploding Shimakazes in few salvos , it didn't feel right, it was too op. I stand by my statement, good riddance -

I just cant after killing 2x shimakazes at once in my benson once and most of the games when given opportunity. Funny thing tho, of everyone plays IJN DDS, american dds will be godly just for hunting them down XD WG is this ur intention? lol -

jarskog, on 29 June 2015 - 09:21 PM, said: I had over 800 battles in USDD before the wipe and was fairly successful. After this 0.4.0 it's just impossible to do anything. Yes. I can go all in for one kill but will die instantly after my torpedoes is launched. Have ofc tried to alter my tactics but still in vain after about 35 battles in DD after 0.4.0. Has started to use CA instead because it's not fun with DD anymore but will miss the intense gameplay with DD's. I have the same feeling honestly, the main problem for me is the main tactic of using smoke to get closer, especialy at the end of the game where using islands as cover may not always be the case, if its 1v1 end game scenario vs a BB etc, before it was possible to smoke at the right time, get in 5-6 km range to launch torps, which still have to hit may i add, especialy if its fast turning american bbs , and yeah in that situation u can matrix , keep them at range, dodge shots etc but they only have to get lucky once with a broadside. Can anyone suggest a different strategy? Or just switch to IJN because their torps make them still viable to the same amount as they use to . But in that case i want my money back for the sims Huh, how is this not a topic of interest ? -

um, I'm not talking about amount of charges , I'm talking about the deployment time -
So, Tier 10 United States carrier will be the USS Midway. Does anyone know if she will get the 1963 hull upgrade? One can only hope * _ *

That's the most childish german style argument I have ever seen in my life. All I can read from this is "I was born ignorant, and nothing or no one will ever dare to change that". Good day to you sir, this conversation is over

You are thinking this too white and grey, what if you are playing your carriers only in a 2 man platoon with another carrier? Let's say your friends load-out is nothing but bombers, and your load-out is nothing but fighter planes . Depending on what sort of match-up you are getting, you will have to both protect your team mates bombers, kill enemy bombers if they have any, etc etc. Even if you are facing 2 carriers with nothing but fighter planes, you can still overpower them if you are simply good enough and your APM is high enough. A pro carrier captain with full fighter squadron loadout will be able to handle any above given situation as well as making sure to annoy the hell out of enemy DD's while keeping them spotted Please add depth to your reasoning

Kitakami -will get her, good for hit and run ^ She so isn't.... I had her, demanded a refund, got Atlanta, much happier person now. First problem with Kitakami - she's detectable from space. Second problem - she's made entirely out of citadels, every single shot you take will be a citadel hit. Third problem - torpedo range is only 10 km, and her guns are pitiful even when comparing to low level destroyers, so she is unable to consistently fight anything really, she will get outranged by BB's, by destroyers, definitely by cruisers, and since her turning radius is god awful, even carriers will om nom nom on her unfortunately. If her torpedoes were 15km in range, she would be able to fight other cruisers using a little bit of sneakiness, but as she stands now, she's just a massive floating cannon fodder. Compare her to Atlanta? Atlanta eats destroyers and cruisers for breakfast, such an infinitely happier ship...

Please read my previous post. Carrier play is not about clicking, its about resource management, APM, map awareness and map control. Higher APM carrier captains will always dominate lower APM carrier captains

Not as much as shooting a ship down definitely, but when you kill 50 planes, get clear skies medal, and 500 xp at the end of a hard game, its a bit of a shame really

Do not agree one bit, RTS mentality needs to be applied when talking about carriers. Carrier unit is your home base, which is generating units for player. Player uses map awareness, focusing fire, harassing techniques to assert map control. Fact: Carrier captain with higher APM will overpower carrier captain with lower one. Like that time when I was in my Independence, and managed to completely shut down 2x enemy Independence's, by the end of the game they both were out of planes, and shivering in the corner awaiting death
