Frequently Asked Questions

These guidelines and examples are meant to supplement the forum rules and make your life easier and more enjoyable on the forums.

1. Am I allowed to have more than one account on the forum?

Yes. Our rules do not prohibit using more than one account, however creating alternative accounts with malicious intentions or to bypass moderation may lead to a temporary, or in some cases even to a permanent, ban.

2. What should I know before I post?

We encourage you to participate actively in our community, but before diving in you should familiarize yourself with the forum rules and this FAQ. Please be advised that no matter how valid your feedback may be, your posts will be moderated according to the forum rules. Breaking the rules may result in sanctions, therefore it is important to understand them before posting.

Useful tips:

1) Remember online safety - Do NOT disclose private information about yourself (phone number, IP address, home address, private pictures, e-mail address) on the forums.

2) Use the search function before posting. Many of the questions that are posted on the forum have been posted before and there is a chance that your question has already been answered. If such a topic already exists, please join the discussion there instead of creating and new topic.

3) When replying always try to be helpful and constructive. Posts like “+1”, “Agree”, “:)” etc., do not add anything to a topic and will be removed. If you’re not interested in the discussion please skip it instead of writing useless posts.

4) Make sure that your post is relevant to the topic of the thread.

5) Treat other users the same way you would like to be treated. Do not post in order to provoke other users or to cause negative reactions. Remember that you don’t have to agree with other users but you do have to respect their right to have a different opinion.

6) Use proper grammar in order to communicate more effectively. Make sure your posts are grammatically correct or at least understandable. You’ll gain a lot more respect and credibility if your writing is just as brilliant as the ideas you would like to share with others. Your posts will look more appealing and other users won't have to decode what you wanted to say.

7) Remember that other users may not be native English speakers. Be patient and tolerant of their language skills.

😎 Use the ‘edit’ feature instead of writing multiple posts one after the other within a short period of time.

9) Use ‘spoiler tags’ when posting large images.

10) Before you reply to a thread or create your own thread please ask yourself the following question: "Am I writing a post which is constructive, informative, or interesting on any level?". Use common sense! If you find your own post annoying, others will probably agree - so don’t post it!

3. Where should I create a new topic?

The forum is divided into sections which are clearly labeled. Do not post everything in the Gameplay section. Try to choose the most suitable section for your new topic. If you're not sure where to post, you are welcome to ask a Moderator first, or post in the Off-topic section. Before posting check if there are already existing threads on the subject. (use the search function) If the answer is yes, post your ideas in there.

4. What should I remember while creating a new thread?

Choose the most relevant forum section and a descriptive topic title. The next thing worth considering is choosing the appropriate thread tags for your topic. Include as much information as possible. Please post your topic in only one section. Please do not post petition threads or polls that are not meant to start a constructive discussion. Aim for creating a thought-provoking, inspiring, constructive discussion, and be ready to take a part in the debate.

5. Can I bump my thread?

Bumping is only allowed in the clan recruitment section, but it is restricted with the section rules that you have to follow while posting there.

6. No one is replying in my thread. What to do?

When opening a thread please make sure your topic title is appropriate and describes the purpose and topic of your thread. Check if you posted your new thread in the appropriate section. Try to write your post constructively and make sure it's clear so that other users have viable content to reply to. Be patient and understanding. Give people time to reply. Do not create unnecessary bumps to get attention. No matter what the reason, we kindly ask you not to post the same thread again.

7. Can I delete my own post?

Users are not able to delete or moderate their own threads, this is the job of our moderators. If you believe your thread needs any form of moderation, please contact a Moderator via Private message.

8. I would like my thread to be closed. What to do?

If you think your thread needs to be closed, please contact a Moderator via Private message.

9. I can’t find my post/thread. It disappeared! Where did it go?

Out of courtesy to others, users should avoid posting off-topic, purposeless or rule violating comments in a discussion thread. This may result in your post being moved or removed by a Moderator. If you are looking for certain content we recommend you to use the "search feature". It is located in the upper right hand side of the forums. Alternatively you can also go to your own profile and then click "find content". Here, you can see your most recent content (posts and threads). Please do not create a new thread for the sole purpose of asking why your last thread or post was moved, deleted or closed. Such questions should not be directed to the community. Feel free to contact our Moderators, they will be happy to help.

10. How can I quote someone’s post?

To quote a portion of text, click the ‘Quote’ button. If you would like to quote more than one post, click the ‘Multi-quote’ button instead. Remove parts of the post that are not directly related to your reply. Quoting the entire post, especially if it is a long one, will only annoy other users and make them less likely to respond positively to your comment.

11. Can I criticize other user?

Sure! But please keep in mind that we will not tolerate any posts that are rude, insulting or aimed to cause disturbances. Please do not post any comments related to spelling, grammar etc.. Be tolerant towards users who have difficulties writing in English or any other language. Not everyone is a native speaker. If you really want to help someone, please contact him via private message. A personal, friendly heads up is far better and more likely to result in something positive. Please remember that there are a lot of new players who might know less about the game than you. Please be understanding and make them feel welcome on the forums.

12. What should I do if I see a post which breaks the forum rules?

Please do not reprimand another forum user for doing something against the rules. Do not point out another poster's mistakes, do not complain about the user’s posts on the forums and do not quote such posts. Each member is responsible for their own posts. If another player violates the rules that does not mean that you can do the same. You can ignore such posts or respond without breaking the rules. If you would really like to help the moderation team, please report the post even if you're unsure whether a post violates the forum rules. We will check the report and take an action if it is necessary.

13. How can I report an in-game rule violation?

If you would like to report an in game violation (with exception of Team Kills which are regulated by an automated system) please send a ticket to Customer Support by using the following site: http://support.worldoftanks.eu/. Please use the support site exclusively. Do not use the forum report feature or Private Messages to staff as a way of reporting in game violations.

Please do not create any threads to report in-game violations on the forum. Before you fill in the form try to take a deep breath, calm down and analyze the situation. Pick the appropriate category and send a ticket to support describing the situation objectively, including necessary and helpful information like: the date, replay or screenshot and the nickname. This will help our Customer Support Representatives to resolve your issue faster. We know that you would like to get a response as fast as possible but keep in mind that Support has to resolve a lot of tickets from players with similar issues every day. Please be patient, do not send several tickets about the same issue.

14. How can I report a team-killer?

Team-killing/damaging is handled by an automated system and as such does not require you to report the incidents. You can read more about it here: http://forum.worldof...ll-auto-system/

15. How can I report a forum rule violation?

If you would like to report a forum violation please click the report button in the lower left corner of the offending post. We protect your privacy, so other users don't see that you reported a post. Please make sure to use the report system for this purpose and do not report any content via Private Messages to Moderators. In the report briefly describe the issue to the Moderators. For example if you would like to report a duplicate thread, we would be grateful if you could provide us with a link to the previous thread and mention it is a duplicate thread.

Moderators supervise the whole forum and sometimes it might take a bit of time for them to solve your problem as they have other duties to perform. Please be patient! Please do not abuse the report post feature by sending false alarms or for test purposes in the hopes of attracting the attention of a Moderator.

Do not quote and reply to posts that violate the rules. Try not to take a part in discussions started by such posts and do not try to reprimand another forum user for breaking rules. Don’t ask questions like: "where are the Moderators?". Such comments are not helpful, you just give the moderators more content to clean.

We would like to thank all the people who report rule violating posts to us. We really appreciate your efforts and your willingness to help us!

16. Can I report private messages and user profiles?

Private Messages and user profiles are subject to the forum rules in the same way as posts. You may report them by clicking the "report" feature. A report will then be sent to Moderation staff and investigated. Please briefly describe the issue in the report.

17. How can I add a Moderator/other user to a private conversation?

You may do so by using the "Invite Participants" option located on the left side of the panel and clicking "Add" then inputting the Moderator's username.

18. How do I know if reports I sent were checked and solved?

Due to privacy reasons we cannot send you a confirmation if a user was sanctioned based on your report. We would like to assure you that all reports are analyzed, investigated and if necessary actions are taken. We do not provide feedback on reported content unless special circumstances require it.

19. I never see proof that a user was banned! Why?

Users who break the forum rules will be appropriately sanctioned with a warning issued by the moderation team that is recorded in the "Warning panel" underneath your username. You are able to view your own warning status only. Forum sanctions are considered private information and cannot be disclosed. Protecting privacy does not mean that moderation is a mystery. The forum rules are visible for all to see. If you have any questions regarding your post’s moderation you can always ask us a question and we will try to explain the reasons for any moderation action regarding your posts.

20. I got a warning, where can I check it?

You can check it by clicking the "Warning panel" under your username or by checking your e-mail. It is also possible to check it in the right upper corner on the screen by clicking the notifications panel.

21. I got a warning. Why am I temporarily blocked from posting?

Users who break the forums rules will be appropriately sanctioned with a warning issued by the moderation team. You can find more info about the warning system in the forum rules.

22. What to do if I disagree with a Moderator decision?

You can appeal against a moderation action by following the below procedures:

For all appeals against penalties you may have received as a result of a violation in game please contact our Customer Support at http://support.worldoftanks.eu/

If you have a complaint regarding any of the Forum Moderation actions please send a Private Message to our Moderator team lead:

Please do not insult the Moderators for doing their job. They are doing their best to clean the forum and make it a safe and user friendly environment. If any of our Moderators has acted mistakenly or inappropriately, we will do our best to correct this. We kindly ask you to use the proper channel to report a violation and not to open any threads to discuss staff actions as it is against the rules and may lead to a warning.

23. What is the difference between the Community Team and the Moderation Team?

The Community Team collects user feedback and represents player’s opinions to the developers while also providing the players with information about the game as well as participating in the creation of content such as videos, streams and contests/giveaways.

Moderators are staff members whose duty is to educate the users about rules and etiquette and enforce it when necessary as well as helping users with issues and questions related to moderation.

24. Why can’t I post on the forums?

Every forum section has a battle limit for posting. The limits are the following:

Newcomers' section: 10

Looking for a Clan: 10

Every other section: 250

If you haven’t reached the above limits yet you will still be able to browse the forums, however you won’t be able to post.

I worked in another gaming company with a bunch of cool people from all over the world and shipped some great titles!
What kind of gamer are you?
I’m really passionate, and by that I mean I rage a lot in MMOs and MOBAs. Whenever possible, I customize my UI and organize my macros perfectly so that everything is in order – my order! If anyone messes with my UI, they mess with me.
In RPGs, I am almost compulsively mirroring my own traits when creating a character, while also spending way too much time naming it. Then, I lead it to greatness and bask in its virtual glory! I am not a shy person. Next question?
What is your favorite quote?
Oh, I got plenty of those!
Ex: “Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody’s gonna die. Come watch TV.”
What do you like the most about Wargaming?
I don’t know where to start. From my awesome colleagues to our large, vocal and strong player community, what’s there not to love? Sometimes it’s hectic, but every single day is fun!
What is your favourite vehicle?
At the moment, I’m enjoying the Strv m/42-57 Alt. A.2. As for ships, I really like Budyonny these days.
Your most epic fail?
Repressed memory.
If you were granted one free wish, what would it be?
If I was granted one wish, I’d probably freak out over all existing possibilities and settle into a state of paralyzing despair.

What did you do before joining Wargaming?
I worked at Italian fair trades for comics and games.
What kind of gamer are you?
One searching for a great experience: I like when the storyline teaches me something about life or morals, or leaves me enriched with deep feelings! Good gameplay mechanics and competitiveness are also aspects that I enjoy a lot, even though with my passion and impatience I tend to lose my temper quite quickly…
What is your favorite quote?
「七転び、八起き。」“Fall seven times, stand up eight.”
