Thanks.
Spoiler
How accurate is this tree compared to the current one? If something is wrong please state what and where it should go please.
Everything is correct, except the fact that the P-Klasse Panzerschiff is currently slotted as premium, so not in the tree itself.

We'll see, but probably yes.

How much alpha testers will be selected from the EU server?
If you can't give me an accurate number, please you can give an indicative number?
If this question was already made and answered please don't kill me :hiding: and say me the answer. Thanks
As many as we need (and we can fit without crashing servers). :)

One question of me. I'm sure that every ship will have crew. But I am interesting to know what type of crew.
We're planning to have a captain and some of his officers (like damage control, gunnery etc.), plus air crew for a carrier's air wing.

Are there any new ships and tiers you can tell us for this tree?
Tier is not yet fixed, but should be around that tier. As for the rest, obviously we don't want to reveal too much too fast, so don't expect me to give up everything we have, but I will tell you that the cruiser tree starts with a Königsberg class light cruiser at tier 2.

I know that we have diferences between the ammo shells in the ships and nations. but we have the same in the torpedos? or we have the same topedo for everybody and ship? And if we have diferent kind of topedo, what kind diferences have we in? example, american less damage, but fast reload speed, and japan more damage but more slow of reload. Or we need expected more realism, and in this case the jap toredos are awesome?

Torpedo stats will depend on the type and model (adjusted for game balance).

Here are my questions:
1)We will see maps taken from World of Warplanes? For example Pacific or Bay could be cool to watch from a different angle
2)How is the game mode structured? I mean in every game you can win either destroying all the enemies or capping the base/gaining superiority. Here how does it work?
3)How does spotting work? Of course planes will have a very important role in this aspect but, i assume, that at the very low tiers we won't see many of them.

1. It's possible, but no promises.
2. Currently there are two game modes: Assault (standard, two bases) and Encounter (one base). In both you either sink all enemies or cap.
3. Carrier tree starts at tier 2 as well and most big ships have scout planes, so you will see aircraft at all tiers, low, mid and high.

So, the BattleShip or a Cruiser or a Carrier will have up to 10 crew? If yes, what about medkids. In WoT and in WoWP the crew are 2-6 (only in the biggest tanks), and we have possibility to use standard medkid (heal 1 crew) or a premium medkid (heal all injured crew). As far as I understood correctly in the WoWS there will be more crew than in WoT and in WOWS (up to 10). I guess: more crew = more risk to injure during the battle .So imo there should be possibility to use healing possibility more then once only (maybe 2 standard medkids)? Can You give some more info about it ?

We're currently working on both the crew mechanics and the consumables so it's hard to say anything about those. The only thing that can be said at this stage is that there will almost certainly be some sort of medkit.

1. Will it be possible to do an hole in the front/or somewhere else in the enemys ship and make his ship "sink" because of the water flowing in? By losing little hp every second/ min if serious damaged?
2. How long will the reload time of the guns be? Will it be possible for an gun to lock itself or heat?
3. Will we have coal as fuel for most of our ship? or steam? Will it affect our ship if theres no coal left? Or the steam over heat?

1. Yes, already implemented. Fires cause you to lose Hit points over time, while flooding causes you to lose buoyancy over time. Either one can kill you.
2. Depends on the caliber, the gun model, the turret type and other stuff. In general: the bigger they are, the longer they reload.
3. No, we don't plan on having fuel.

Next salvo of questions
1)How many types of modules there will be? I'm guessing something like this but i'm not so sure about it:Main battery cannons, secondary cannons, AA guns, engine(s), radio, radar and planes.
2)In case of an encounter between planes will they start at shooting each other?
3)Which is the maximum spotting range? In WoT the maximum should be 450 metres so beyond it you don't see the enemy. I guess there's some sort of limit also here(probably the horizon as it is in reality)
4)The ammo will consists only in the projectile itself or it will include also the bags needed to fire it?
6)Will the ammo fired by secondary armament/AA guns cost or it will be free like the gunners' ones in WoWP?
I guess is enough for now! And BTW thanks again for all the time you dedicate to the replies, i really appreciate that
1. As in: damage modules in-game? Currently there are: artillery, torpedoes, propulsion and planes.
2. If they're fighters and have no other orders, yes.
3. Honestly, I don't know what the limit is at this time. Max spot I was able to get from my planes was somewhere between 10 and 15km.
4. Powder Magazines have their own hitboxes, but as far as ammunition choice goes, you only see the shells.
6. Most likely free.

3)Which is the maximum speed which can be achieved ingame?

1. Will the reaload time be about the same as it would be on the real ships?
2.Can torpedoes bounce of the hull if it hits at an angle?

4. If a shell hits the bridge, can it kill the captain, and how will this affect the ship?
5. When the Alpha has started, what will be our tasks? Send weekly reports?
That should be enough for now.

1. We are running at x3 realtime anyway, so nothing is the same as in reality. It would be too slow and painful otherwise.
2. Not currently.
3. Not run out of gunners as such, but these elements could be destroyed in a general sense.
4. Potentially, this will be possible in the future. We've not decided on the exact effects yet.
5. If you are granted access you will need to take part in the test sessions, follow the testing schedule and give feedback in various ways (questionnaires, bug reports etc).

4)Will you be able to name your ships? In WoT and WoWP you're not able to but tanks and planes are more mass produced. Could be a cool thing the possibility to name the ships in your dock.
1. Likely.
2. Undecided.
3. We'd like to, but don't know if that will be possible.

3. Any chances of having some Great Lakes based map? (Based. I know blue water ships would not sail through them)
1. We hope not and we will be working to prevent such errors.
2. Very unlikely. Definitely not on higher tiers.

Yes, there will be crew, either for the whole air group or separately for each squadron.

How many people do you plan to test in the alpha.
And the test will actually take place on only one cluster, or are there really test regional, Europe - EU server, Russia - Ru .... and NA ?

There isn't one at the moment, you have a map grids, like in our other games. Honestly, I don't think that compass bearings would do anything for a team of 15 random people.
As many people as we need to reach our goals (world domination and a few others).
Currently, there is one common test cluster.

Will it be possible for a Tier 1 or 2 plane to be fitted to a Tier 9 or 10 Carrier?

A bit early to say. Probably some marvel of German naval engineering. ;)
Hard to talk about branches at this time - there are ships from all classes and both nations available at this time. That's enough to test what we want to test.
Ducks will be absolutely critical to gameplay.

EV1N you can say what, if so thank you!
Oh I have another question since it is considered gold ammo limit in a battle for example, a ship can carry 100 rounds and can of 5 -10% gold loading. Were there or are there considerations there?

Difficult to say at this moment, because ship stats are pretty much fluid at this time and, OTOH, much depends on tier and type. For example, Des Moines currently has absolutely epic rate of fire for its main armament (so much so that you can fire again before the previous salvo reaches maximum range), even though at lower tiers IJN cruisers can reload quicker than their counterpart.
We are thinking about this, but a limit is unlikely.

Hello everybody.
I come from Wot Forum where some members asked me about aircraft carriers, aircraft and AA fire.
i have been looking for info in this forum but i didn't find something really good to explain them.
They ask about aircraft missions.
I have a CV with 3 types or aircraft(Fighters, dive bombers and torp bombers) divided into 6 squadrons (i dont know if the squadrons feature are possible) .
How can i send the aircraft squadrons?
1.- Can i send bombers to attack a Battleship while fighters protects them in a single mission or i have to set up a mission for each squadron?
2.- Can i change the squadron's mission in flight? Example, i send a D3A1 Dive bombers to attack a Heavy cruiser but when they arrive to combat zone, a carrier is sighted, can i change mission to attack carrier instead of the heavy cruiser?
3.- If a carrier gets a torpedo hit and start listing, what will happen to the planes in the air?
4.- Average time for refuelling and reloading weapons of a squadron?
5.- I have read that AI will control the AA fire. What will happen with Dual Purpose armament, like 127mm mounts of USA Battleships? Are we going to have any kind of control in this feature?
6.- If i have a USS Atlanta class CL can i load AA ammo in main batteries to defend carriers? If i load AA ammo who will control AA fire of main guns?

Thanks

1. ATM these are separate missions.
2. Yes, you can change aircraft orders at any time, until they run out of fuel.
3. Nothing. Torpedoes can't hurt planes. ;)
4. Depends on tier and type.
5. We haven't decided that yet.
6. As above.

Another issue is the possibility that you can see waves not only as optical delicacy, but also from the playful! (The ship is the heaviest waves in the sea up and down, shortened or extended by distances to a pull?)
Not in the alpha, beta and not immediately after the start of the game sometime.
It is only the question of whether you think it's possible to install such a thing (if it allows the FPS God :sceptic: , goes without saying) or the like.
There is volley and auto.
We're playing around with the idea of waves rocking the ship. Whether it will happen, we will see.

1) Is it on the maps, which are adjacent to the coasts, to recognize something to give,
for example: hey this is El Haluf or South Coast? So what in the direction?
2) And why do we necessarily see the HPbar of the opponents?
Would not it be exciting without, or you can see it only when the whole crew or just the commander would need a skill for it?
Because the HPbar not only disturbs me. :izmena:
Good, is more an idea or wishful thinking, as a question but I think there's an alpha where such things could be tested.
Or take the idea later than hardcore mode! :glasses: Approximately three years after the start. :teethhappy:
3) I have another question, it is contemplated to limit gold ammunition in a battle, for example, a ship can carry 100 rounds, and it can be 5 -10% gold loading. Was there or is there musings on this subject?

1. Not at the moment.
2. Otherwise you would see no progress in the battle and would never know whether you are doing things right or not. This is not meant to be a simulation.
3. Musings, yes.

1)With which criteria you decide to put a ship on a certain tier?
2)Will you modify some ships to let them fit on the tier you chose? For example adding AA guns wherever needed etc(the best example in this case is the 1920 South Dakota)
3)Will the tech trees try to follow a certain chronological order? Cuz as far as they are now doesn't seem totally like it.

1 We take historical stats and compare them against other ships from a gameplay perspective.
2 Most likely yes, but we will try not to alter them physically.
3 Depends. We need to think about gameplay aspects.

What tiers would these USN Ships be at:
  • Sangamon-class escort carrier
  • Bogue-class escort carrier (Attacker- and Ruler-class escort carriers in the Royal Navy)
  • Long Island-class escort carrier
  • Charger-class Escort Carrier (Avenger-class in the RN)
  • Casablanca-class Escort Carrier
  • Commencement Bay-class Escort Carrier
What tiers would the Attacker-, Ruler- and Avenger-class Escorts be at in the RN Tree?

Top to bottom: 4, 3, 2, not in tree, not in tree, 5.
Too early to talk about RN in that aspect.

Can i say what the angle is of the torpedo.
And which kind of torpedos will be introduced?^^

There's a GUI aim indicator for that, but you can't input any numbers if that's what you mean.
There are different torpedo models.

  • What kind of tactics do you recomend for USA and Japan?
  • Can you tell us about your favorite map?
  • If mines will be added to the game, can destroyers lay a minefield in a strategic straits?
  • If magnetic mines will be added to the game, will ships have a device that "hide" the ships magnetic field?
  • At the loading menu before a battle, will you add the "thing" so you can compare your ship with your enemy's ship, as in World of Warplanes? For example: Armor, Armament and Speed.

Tactics depend more on class and the idividual ship, rather than on nation.
My favourite maps are Fault Line and Solomon Islands. :)
No mines.
Maybe, but its difficult to compare ships in this manner. For example the "firepower" of a destroyer is not in its guns, but in the torpedoes. However, the torpedoes do most of their damage to buoyancy and not to HP. This makes it hard to put one comparable number on ship stats.

Sorry, just trolling a little
How many Aircraft will be in the game during Alpha? And will it be possible to equip a Tier X Carrier with Tier I planes? Or will there be a limit on what tier planes you can equip to a ship, so a Tier II carrier can equip fighters upto Tier 4 and a Tier 8 Carrier can equip planes above Tier 5 etc.

Most likely there will be a limit on what a carrier can carry.

How your tech trees look like? I mean horizontal like WoT or Vertical like WoWp?
Largest number of branches in tech tree?

Probably top-down, but the interface is not there yet.

Maybe as a premium ship...

At the first stage of Closed Beta, how many branches will each nation have?

One per class, we hope.

View PostPichu_Trainer, on 19 November 2013 - 08:20 PM, said:

That'll probably depend on how many trees each nation has :trollface::trollface::trollface:
But this would be too early to answer, it's most likely though that each nation will have 2 complete branches by release.
Will it be possible to fit additional equipment onto the planes such as Reinforced Covering or Additional Armor Plates?

Not likely - at this scale, planes are the equipment.

1)When can we expect new pictures?

2)The cost to retrain the crew, are to be the same in the game as in WoT?
Or maybe because you will change anything?

3)How many Hp DD will have, as opposed to a mouse from WoT?
And how much HP will have BB to DD? Circa.

4)Since there is no block Shoots, the fight to distant is gambling?
Or are the heavy ordnance good enough for it to apply to distance?

5)Will there be influences on the proof which affect the accuracy?
For example, you stand even under fire, the ship is in a bank of fog, the ship was hit by a torpedo!
(Outer influences)

1.  When we have something cool to show off.
2.  Don't know yet, this is not finalized.
3. This is the best question I've had in a long time. The comparison is really funny. ;)

WoT Maus can one-shot any destroyer with one HE shell. One shell from Yamato's main artillery can destroy a Maus. Assuming it always hits, penetrates and deals average damage, Maus would have to use more than half of its shells to sink Yamato.

4. Didn't understand this one.
5. Yes, there might be factors that influence accuracy under some circumstances.

In one of the already closed Q&A-threats i have read, that a (carrier based) plane will crash, wenn it runs out of fuel.
Tell me: On a map with 60 x 60 km and a battle time about 15 mins as usual, how can a plane run out of fuel at all?

We have accelerated time flow. Normally, your aircraft will never run out of fuel, because they will automatically come back to the carrier. The exception to this is when the carrier is sunk while it has squadrons in the air - those will eventually run out of fuel and crash.

Thanks for your replies Ev1n! :honoring:

Now next salvo:
1)Will the smoke screen work as bushes in WoT? So if you lay down a smoke screen you won't be spotted while firing if the distance between the smoke and the ship is big enough.
2)It will be possible to "crash" the ship into sand banks, rocks and similar?
3)Will the game be more focused on BBs at low tiers? Historicallyall the Navies believed that the battleships were the main ships(up until the raid over Taranto in 1940 which lead to Pearl Harbour in 1941).

1. Yes, similarly. Just remember that here you have aircraft that have a different POV.
2. Yes.
3. Depends what you mean by "focused". Every ship class starts at tier 2, so theoretically the quantity focus will only depend on player preference. However, we do want to avoid battles of 30 BBs fighting against each other, so we're working on MM mechanics to that end.

Hello

You do it well, you should ask for salary increase :teethhappy:
Few questions
As torpedoes speed is less than shell speed, if a BB sink a DD wich have thrown its torpedoes at this BB, do the torpedoes are deleted immediately, or can they sink the BB some seconds after sink of DD?
If your CV is destroyed, but all your aircraft is already on fly (we already know they will be destroyed because they ran out of kerozene), but do you speed up kerozene consumption to make them disappear rapidly few time after your CV is destroyed or can you still fly for minutes and maybe sink one or two ships?
What kind of games modes are you thinking about?
Take flag?, Total anihilation (obvious)? Convoy guard/destroy? Assault mode (destroy ground targets), Other (please describe)?
And if this question is top secret at least how many different ones are planned so far?
:honoring:

Torpedoes (and planes and shells) do not disappear if you are sunk before they reach their target. Planes have their normal range and fuel consumption, even if their carrier is sunk.
Already answered about game modes.

Can we ground a ship to avoid her sinking, and try to fight little more time?

Nope. The chances of that would be almost nonexistent, since there aren't that many shallow places on the maps.

What will the slowest and fastest Carrier planes be at games release?
So you've told us the US carrier line from Tier II-V, so what ships will also appear from Tier VI-X?
What Carriers (from tier II-X) will appear for the Japanese Tree?

I don't know the answer about the planes atm.
When it's finished and polished.
Not planned. Yamato is already very scary and comfortable at tier X. A150 would need a higher tier.
I don't know the answer about the planes atm.
Essex at tier 8.
Zuikaku at tier 8 and Shinano at tier 10.

4. Didn't understand this one.

Sorry Ev1n, I was a bit tired and confused! :glasses:
1)I wanted to know how well the spreading of the main guns in normal distance is, and whether it will be worse with a large distance!

2)And it is to release or after this, like enter in WoT 7er company!
Are there plans to?

Which ship do you like best, of which we know so far?
I can not decide between the CA Takao and the Yamato, I find both beautiful!

1) There is a spread difference for range, but its not significant.
2) Not for now.

Hello Ev1n,
Is the full ballistics model applied to the smaller AAA (e.g. 20/40mm) as well, or could it be necessary to switch over to a more simplistic mode (e.g. hit scans) on those?
WoT usually does not have a lot of shells to track (the low-tier auto cannon/machine gun mayhem not considering) but when we think about 30 ships blasting away with main armament, torpedoes, plane ordnance and machine guns/cannons, secondaries and dozens of AAA on each of the larger ships I can imagine this quickly sums up and poses a serious challenge for the server to calculate and update the clients in time.
Thank you.

Since you don't control AA, there is no need for a full model.

I have a few questions about the torpedoes.

How soon will you be? Max Speed
What they will have maximum reach?
how does the target system?
After reaching the max. reach, then it will turn off that was correctly

Torpedo speed and range depend on the specific torpedo model used (varies by tier/ship/nation).
You target them (using a lead indicator or your own epic perception) and they follow a straight line. You can also set spread width where applicable.
After reaching max range, the torpedo disappears/sinks/turns off without exploding.

Will hybrid Ise have her planned complement of dive bombers and how are they going to be recovered (if they're recoverable at all)? And about seaplanes, will it be necessary to fully stop your ship to recover them or is this mechanic going to be simplified/changed/omitted? I've recently read on Hara's biography that it wasn't uncommon to simply abandon seaplanes during combat rather than recovering them.

Landing and take-off mechanics are simplified - you don't need to stop or take wind into account etc. So seaplanes simply magically land - at least for the moment.
