Just an idea.
Make each question start on a new line, this will greatly improve readability.

Quote

1.1. Q: Since destroyers and cruisers are fully separate tech trees alongside battleships and carriers, how will they be balanced to survive matches with high end battleships for instance? Will a tier X destroyer have a lot of hitpoints or will they be balanced through other stats?
A: These ships will be balanced with the help of a new matchmaker system.

Special matchmaking huh. I'm going to interpret this as "Yes, destroyers will be wtfpwned by a 15" shell, so we're gonna figure something out to balance that."

Also, the torpedo question, (which is a fair one) wasn't answered properly. The main question was whether there were going to be different types of torpedoes, in accordance with the national differences.

My favourite method is using different colours to tell between answer and question. Just keep question black and use dev red for answers. :)

Nah, red is too aggressive :) I am from the paper book era so I prefer black-and-white and differentiating by font ;)

That's why it's not Grey and all over the place ^^

King George V 2x4 1x2 14"/45 Mk VII = Tier 7 Battleship, King George V 3x3 15"/45 Mk II = Tier 8 Battleship

The only logical fan tree around!

btw in case you want to expand/add some more details on the subjects covered here, please feel free to ask in Round 2 with a number referring to this digest (say "I want to expand on your answer to question 3.1..."). In time we will try to organize the answers into separate FAQ threads to keep for example everything regarding carriers and aircrafts in one place.

They got no answers to that, because they don't even know it for them selfs when they are going to release alpha.

that would definitely make sense.
But still, the more information I can get to read, the better it is =D

The Q&A's can keep me satisfied until then.

Aye, thank you Tuccy for your time and for setting up this Q&A For us. I, and I'm sure many others, deeply appreciate it.

Yeah, it sounds a bit we will balance it by putting 4 of those target dummies in for each BB, balance by quantity, but i doubt the balancing part is very far yet.

According to Facebook Q+A it will generally be 4 DDs for 1 BB... Do not forget that DDs might be soft target, but extremely hard to hit at range - and at close range their only task is to survive long enough to deliver the torpedoes to target.

I don't think the ratio will be able to keep that up, 4 people playing DD against 1 person in a BB.
I seriously doubt they will ever reach that ratio. The way I see it, it would be like the medium tank - heavy tank thing in WoT.

I think 1 person wil play 4 DDs against 1 person in a BB.

According to KGB on the NA forums when i comes to matchmaking:

View PostKGB, on 31 August 2012 - 10:53 AM, said:

There will be different to WoT matchmaker.
We expect right now to have a 10slots vs 10slots battles, where there can be from 1 to 4 players in 1 slot, with minimum 1BB, 1CV, 1CA/CL (meaning 2 players on cruisers per 1 slot) and 1DD slots (meaning 4 players on DD per 1 slot) . The rest 6 would be filled randomly.

All ships ofcourse will be roughly from the same tier, just like in WoT.

For those interested, it's quite informative to read the Q&A threads on the NA forums HERE, questions are anwsered almost daily.
